Horrible! I was using Cleo for 2 months. Everything was good. My last advance they charged my account instead of debit card and it’s been days since I can’t take an advance. Trying to get in touch with customer service was a joke since their AI feature didn’t understand what I was saying. There are much better advance services out there with humans to help. Don’t waster your money. Also they don’t let you take the advance all at once. Which in return you pay a fee for each advance. I got 100.00 and if I took a 25.00 advance a day which that’s all they let you take you have to pay an additional 14.99 each advance. Please don’t waste your money. We work too hard to throw it away to companies like this

One week I’m able to request $400 and the next week Cleo drops it down to $100. And you can only take a small increment of the total per day with a high payback rate attached to each withdrawal.

As of the past couple of months, the app has been having issues, loading for minutes, customer service never answers, the cash advance option sometimes straight up doesn’t work. If you pay back early your next cash advance will be lower too. I’ve been stuck for over 2 weeks trying to get help and I get nothing, yes this includes if you have the payed premium accounts.

This pay advance medium is money hungry. Even though the history on payback by any means possible is perfect, future advances are released in dribs and drabs over each of the several 24 hour periods. This is done to maximize the collection of their exorbitant fees. The “Cleo Team”, I’m convinced, is not existent. No response ever to questions outside of their FAQ.

They will take all of your money and charge you a monthly fee but give you very little you will get lots of overdraft fees and pay a ridiculous fees each time you do a cash advance . The good reviews are all by bots. I can see why people want to do a class action lawsuit.

At this point I am begging you guys to add manual accounts and manual transactions, it liter makes this app unusable because I have a credit builder card that doesn’t work with any fintech integrations. It’s been years and years this feature has been missing and every time I try to come back to this app I quite because of this.

so much AI used, no one to actually talk to if there is a problem and the AI is ill equipped to answer my question. i ended up deciding to cancel a subscription with cleo as the features weren’t there or are very AI focused, and instead of letting the month finish out. I lose all current access to everything and as far as i can tell IF… IF there is any kind of Subscription refund it will be processed at a later date. but no one to talk to as to have a more detailed picture of what that looks like. Don’t waste your time with this app, built and ran by AI, and there is so many technical rules and things for the cash advance it’s more of a headache and a severe cash grab. let me say it again if i’m not clear AVOID THIS APP AT ALL COSTS. there are much better apps that offer the same stuff that don’t seem hastily or AI-edly thrown together.

This app is crazy, so you’ll qualify for an advance of “$300” BUT… they’ll fund you in parts with a limit of $80 every 24 hours!!! And for every time you withdraw $80 dollars you will be charged a fee! And when it’s time to repay the funds, they will take the entire sum. So God forbid you have a serious emergency and you pay them back and think you’ll get an advance right away because the will put you at their $80 dollar limit mercy! Oh and they claim to monitor purchases and all of that but they report it like 2 days later! There’s better apps than these guys! $80 dollar limit.. get out of here…

I’ve used this service a couple of times when I needed advance funds. I live month to month on retirement social security, and funds are deposited on the 1st of every month. The app knew when my check came in, but it refused to change the date when it pulled what I owed from the 28th to the 1st. With 31 days in that month, it meant 4 days extension. But it refused to change the date and refused to allow me access to a real person!! It forced me to incur overdraft fees! Over $100.00, and that’s what I know now until I go to my bank tomorrow.

I used Cleo a few times. When I no longer needed their services I stopped. I soon changed email and phone number. Deleted the app. Whe I noticed Cleo still trying to take money from my account I downloaded the app again to log in. I couldn’t log into my account because I no longer had the email and phone number I used when I created my account with Cleo. They make it so hard to log in with different numbers and emails. So they took my money from my account even though it was frozen. Also they have no phone number to contact customer service that way. I’m here to tell people that Cleo uses fraudulent tactics and cares nothing for their customers.

After that, my next event was $25 after that $20 and now it’s never been above $20 every single time even though it’s paid back every single time on time actually always paid back early. Cleo used to be very helpful. We were able to request half of what we were eligible for on one day, and the other half the next day - with boosts we could earn. Now they’ve switched to only allowing you to withdraw a fraction of what you’re eligible for each day, and racking on fees for each day. So by the time you finish requesting the full amount, you have a bunch of daily fees to pay back. They’ve turned this into a money grab. You can download other apps like Brigit or Dave or Tilt that let you withdraw the full amount with little to no fees. Stay away from Cleo until they change this new update!

Cleo Cash Advance used to be a great service, but unfortunately, it has become extremely expensive because of all the fees. They initially make it seem helpful by offering an $80 advance with an $8.99 fee, even when you qualify for a $200–$300 advance. Then, when you come back the next day, your available advance can suddenly drop to $60 or even $40. This forces you to take out additional advances just to access the money you originally qualified for, which means paying even more fees. By the time everything is said and done, you can end up paying close to $100 in advance fees, on top of the monthly subscription fee. At that point, the service doesn’t feel like a helpful cash advance anymore—it feels like you’re constantly paying fees just to access your own future money. Cleo used to provide much better value, but the current fee structure makes it very difficult to justify using the Cash Advance feature. I really hope they reconsider how these fees and advance limits are structured because it has become far too expensive for what you’re actually receiving.

I’ve used this app in the past and found it pretty helpful but this time around after not using it for months, the system needs a lot of repairs. It does not allow you to draw the cash advance. That is being asked. Got lured into the mobile service and now I can’t pay my bill in the app, I just have to wait for them to charge me whenever. I don’t have service aside from being able to receive and make calls, no cellular data(I’m assuming since I can’t pay my bill in the app). The only solution provided was to use WiFi (also currently down) while waiting for an ai representative to attempt to follow so I can actually use my phone again.

I been using Cleo for bout 7 months the now with my chime. Recently tried to pay my advance off it wouldn’t let me then a day later it debited my card for a partial payment but still won’t let my pay the rest. I love the Cleo app but it has a lot of errors within the app that make getting an advance difficult, sometimes repaying it back is difficult. I can’t access my advance today after updating the app. Live support is not “available” after two hours of troubleshooting with AI. The AI chat also takes you in circles when trying to get live support.

Cleo talks big but really isn’t any better than many other just so-so companies. They start off with very little cash advances that are basically useless and then for lending they set you up with one with congratulations for qualifying for a large amount like $8000 but then you keep getting sent to one lender to another and eventually denied any loan anyway—- even though most lenders are labeled as lenders for bad credit, etc. These places are all just gimmicks. I know better but I tried anyway.

The cash advances are nice and helpful when needed. Some draw backs I do not like.. I get random push notifications for nothing quite often. I also don’t like the cool down period between withdrawals. The transfer fees add up each request. But overall, it’s been helpful enough to continue using the services.

Advertising makes it like you can instantly borrow $250, however it’s a variety of things that make you eligible to do so like creating a budget, normal borrowing circumstances like your credit profile I assume. They start much lower than $250 though. You cannot cancel your account; they grabbed the money to payback and said ‘it didn’t go through, let’s retry,’ but the amount is processing.

In my case they only let me take cash advances out in $30 increments every 24 hours, however if I want access to the funds right away then there is also an almost $6 charge on top of that. Every time, for only a $30 advance! That’s 20% of the cash advance being wasted just because.

They do every trick possible to keep you from speaking to a live agent. Then the agent doesn’t understand basic English. They copy and paste the same reply without actually trying to help. I’m not going to lie at times I do need extra but I don’t like the way Cleo does theirs. Even when giving an increase it’s something. After I payback I may not use it anymore it’s really too much of a hassle how they do their advance. Change how the advance is given. Give it all at once because the company is charging each time which make the fees higher

Do no link your bank accounts if you have Venmo and a regular checking and savings account. Cleo will go into your account and take money while lying to your face. They got me evicted because I was unable to pay my bill due to the fact that Cleo just went into my account and snatched those funds. The support team is disrespectful and I wouldn’t recommend this all to anyone.

I paid for the Cleo Plus, and then it told me I was no longer eligible for Cleo Plus and that I would have to wait a few days to see if I’m eligible again for the cash advance. The stupid AI gave the same three responses.

The app said I was approved for $40, so I paid the subscription fee. Then suddenly I wasn’t eligible anymore. According to their own terms and conditions, I should have been refunded my subscription fee when I requested it. However, I was denied. So I cancelled the subscription and disputed the charge with my bank instead.

They expect you to wait at least three hours to resolve any issues

Charged me monthly subscription and then i couldn’t do anything because it kept saying my social security number was wrong . I tried to update that and it kept switching it to another number . When I talked to customer service they finally told me I didn’t pass a security screening . The app had no problem getting into my bank account or taking my money.

However, I would keep on them to make sure they aren’t reporting inaccurate information to the bureaus because it could hurt your credit.

I needed to switch up my bank account from one to the other, and the app would not let me delete one of the accounts which intern made me not be able to get the cash advance that I needed after going through all the prompts I was instructed to do it still won’t work and they have no help for me as I’ve paid this subscription for months and months. This app is a waste of time. They take money from you and then only let you borrow a very little. Yesterday app told me I could borrow up to 60 dollars but daily max is 30 so I could have done 30 then and waited a day and done the other 30. Today I logged in and they took 5 dollars from my account for monthly fee and changed my borrow amount to 20 dollars. WTH? 20 dollars is nothing. And it would actually only be 15 because they took 5 out of my account. Pretty lame app.

I was eligible for an advance. Upon paying 5.99 I entered in my card info (also they charge an additional 3.99 and up for small advances ($20) this number increases), and it says there is an error with the card. They would not refund me. They would not let me speak with an agent. You can buy a plane ticket and change your mind 24 hours later but they would not refund me my money one hour later. DO NOT USE THEM

I trusted this app. They did supported me with my money goals but don’t trust them now. They took money out of my account and claim they are going to put it back but they are not. Shame on you, Cleo!

The fact that Cleo roasted me because of my spending was a classic move. I was embarrassed 😭😭😭

So… initially Cleo was amazing with cash advances. I had Cleo mobile so I got a bonus $50 But soon as Cleo mobile didn’t renew ( which I actually wanted to do, but the app disappeared the option. Now my cash advances go from $80-$160… but I can only take out $40a day and my reloads CONSTANTLY get delayed at the “ needs more time after your last paycheck” “check again another day”) EVERYTIME SIEMPRE HE PAGADO TEMPRANO O A TIEMPO. But now I’m stuck at this $40 block and it’s so frustrating.

Quick and easy

This app was the only one that never approved me for anything. Why even have it? Again, if I qualified for others why not this one?

I like being able to use for extra cash in a pinch. Money is deposited right away with no issues. Just wish they would tell us how to be able to increase the amount and how do you get a boost. When I first started I got a boost but not anymore and have never missed a payment.

these 5 Star Reviews are completely lying you HAVE to pay a subscription to even access the app and they will sit there and lie and say 250 dollar advance is available after you pay a subscription fee, but they can still decline you for the advance after you pay ?!? they know what they are doing and it’s pure greediness. I will never use this app again .

The app only lets you transfer money into Cleo from a debit card connected to a bank. There is no way to transfer money out from the app into another bank account, atm withdraws are limited to 200 daily. I’m very unsatisfied. Closing my account.

I've been trying to chat with an agent for a week and I haven't been able to do it, I've tried at different times and I haven't been able to, I need to solve a situation, if the chat doesn't work how can I do it

Can’t deposit more than $200.00 in your savings account each day which is annoying. They also lower the advance amount even though you pay it back responsible want to charge you $15.00 a month. Getting ready to pull my savings and cancel Cleo for good.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Cleo was extremely disappointing. I subscribed because the app gave the impression that I would have access to cash advances, only to find the information surrounding advance eligibility to be misleading. To make matters worse, the app barely functioned. I deleted and reinstalled it twice, yet I continued receiving error messages whenever I tapped on different features. I couldn’t properly use the service I had just paid for. Paying for a subscription only to be met with misleading expectations and an app that doesn’t work is unacceptable. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Cleo. I have requested a full refund because I was unable to use the service as advertised.

This is a great app the only thing I don't like is the payback dates are wrong I get paid on the third of each month and they want me to pay back on the 14 I just can't do that but hey it might work for some people

They constantly changed the amount I could re borrow even though I always paid on time and had money in my account very unreliable If you plan to keep using the app every month.

No matter what card I tried that was connected to my account it would connect it to my account.

False claims impossible to get answers for your questions very unprofessional

I am so Thankful for the people at Cleo, I have been struggling hard financially and did not know where I was going to get extra money to pay for Gas, Food, utilities, medicine and bills I am behind on. I am so grateful and I’m telling the world to give Cleo a try. God bless you Cleo
