I use this primarily as a budgeting app. I appreciate the easy downloads and the categories for planned spending. My only gripe is that I can't see a total of the planned spending so far. I like to look at my budget progress both globally (as in my total spent so far) and according to category. It seems this would be an easy add. Otherwise I think the software works great! One other gripe - quicken simplify should be included with a desktop quicken membership! Why do I have to pay more??!

Please get rid of so. I’m considering deleting because of it. Love it because it’s a mint alternative but refuse to pay anymore because of the si feature. Horrible idea!

Every single time I create a rule I have to click do not ask me again. So if I create 30 rules, I’ve gotta click don’t ask me again 30 times seems pointless. Also, when I’m trying to go through all the uncategorized expenses it switches me to another list after our updated transaction so then I have to go back to select the list uncategorized again and start the process over. Both of these issues need to be fixed.

Honestly the app sucks it needs to re authorize all my banks every 24 hrs and it practically useless. I wanted an automated expense tracking with all the ai it shouldn’t be hard but this app has made budgeting more difficult Simple 1 min tasks turn into hr long trouble shooting

Best way to see exactly where your money is going. Very intuitive and easy to set up categories. The alerts and reports are extremely helpful. Tracking subscriptions is super simple and you can see bills that you have upcoming. Highly recommend!!

Skeptical to trialing a new financial/budget app, but I could not recommend this product more! Simple yet customizable layout, functional interface, and very comprehensive. Seriously, if thinking about, send it! It's free and has no apps! love it

I love this app, but whatever update was made recently has affected the quality of the display. Both my iPhone and iPad have been affected. Hopefully a fix is coming soon?

My dad recommended I start using Quicken because he’s been using it to track his and the family’s finances for decades now. I don’t have a history of being good with money, and I’m not very knowledgeable about finances. I do a lot of freelance work so I bought the business version, and have been using it for almost a month. This app has made budgeting, planning, and monitoring my accounts TREMENDOUSLY easier. It’s very easy to use, everything feels intuitive, you can get as in-depth with organizing your transactions and bills as you want. It also connects with third party apps easily. Can’t say I’ve run into any issues yet with that. I love it, and because of it, I’ve started checking my Quicken and all my accounts everyday, and I finally feel like I’m becoming responsible with my money. Highly recommend you get it to just make your life easier.

Application is limited and requires a ton of work to set up and then to sift through entries from several inputs and categorize them all.

Takes days for financial information to be updated. Every time it notifies me I am already well aware of the transaction from days to weeks ago.

I’ve been trying to link my bank account for a couple weeks now, and I keep getting the same error message FDP-102. I’ve changed my bank password to get rid of the “special character” I uninstalled the app and just reinstalled today and I get the same message. I give up

It candidly seems like they just don’t try hard. Example: the review transactions feature they just released. I hit mark as reviewed. Then wait. I mean really? If it takes me 10 seconds to go through each transaction I’m not going to do that. Even if the feature itself is a great idea.

A waste of time and money.

I had Mint, which was awesome. Quicken bought them and did not learn from them. The app is not intuitive. You need a degree to figure out how to get everything to work.

If I wasn’t already invested I’d switch to something else. And after my subscription is over I plan to look elsewhere. The monthly budgeting makes no sense and is impossible to set up. In the end this app is overall fairly dissatisfying. There was a glitch after months of using the app that my credit card stopped importing into the app. They were not able to solve it with their quick fixes so they put a ticket in for someone to work on the issue….three months later I got an email with a window of time I needed to be available and if I missed it then that was it. Absolutely terrible customer support!!!

When it works, it’s a great app. But, twice in two weeks I’ve been logged out of my Quicken account and Simplifi for no reason. The first time, I had to spend over 90 minutes on phone support to regain access. They said sometimes the app doesn’t like VPN, firewall, etc and to turn them off. If this app can’t figure out how to work with normal online safety procedure, I don’t know what to say. Today, I’ve been randomly logged out again and Quicken won’t take my password. I refuse to spend more time with support. Luckily, I’ve just found another equally useful app that begins with M. Successfully added my accounts and then canceled my Quicken subscription. As well, there is not sufficient foreign currency support. This is an essential feature for me.

Honestly the best money management app for the price. The price is fair and it does everything I need it to do to keep track of the inflow and outflow of money. Great for first timer, like myself. It is keeping me accountable.

After Mint was acquired and gutted, I’ve been using this app to track my budget and finances. I have so much set up here, but it hasn’t been able to sync with Bank of America for over two months now, leaving a hole in my budget reporting and visibility. I’ve spoken with customer support a few times now and there’s no expectation of when the known issue will be resolved. I don’t want to start over with a different budget app, but I’m mad I’ve paid the expensive fee for this one and it’s not working as it should.

Simplifi is new to me. I was using Goodbudget, but it was taking too much time from my life. This app seems to be less of a budget (still does budgeting) and more of a whole financial picture app. I love that I can see my investments and every one of our checking and savings accounts in one place. The app is intuitive and you can teach it what to do with recurring income. This saves me loads of time.

This is hands down the best tool for personal tracking. I have multiple accounts and cards. Very hard to manage and was trying to do this with Quickbooks. This is 10x more user friendly. I wish used 5 years ago. I would have saved much more money!

Slick and modern UI, and very responsive. My biggest gripe with this solution is that it’s not “intuitively” accurate; the spending plan is “hit or miss” and requires too much effort yo make sure it’s setup properly and even then, it may not be. Needs work, but strong contender in the PFMS space

Stop using AI.

It’s ok. I still find the need to use a spreadsheet. I’d like to personalize it and can’t. It’s very limited to what it will do for me and how to function. Probably won’t stay with it

This application does not offer a free trial, but Quicken claims that they offer a 30-Day Money Back Guarantee. I thought “what the heck, I could try it and if it doesn’t work for me, then I can get a refund.” I was initially excited to use the application but was kinda met with a a budgeting system that doesn’t work for me. I wouldn’t have minded trying to learn how to use the app, but there were some annoyances with using it. One is that the application doesn’t seem to make it easy to review and categorize any banking transactions. My biggest gripe with the app is that while they do connect with plaid, every time that I would go back to the main screen, I would be asked to reauthenticate my bank with simplifi. I’m all for security but other applications make this entirely seamless. I’ve decided that this application wasn’t worth it for me and I have requested a refund. Apparently “30-Day Money-Back Guarantee” has absolutely no meaning if you subscribe to their app via the App Store. Mind you, I’m asking for a refund only 6 days after purchasing and using the app. I filed a request for refund through Apple twice, and they denied me a refund both times, claiming that I and not eligible for a refund and this decision is final. I went to quicken and they claimed that they do not process refunds and that would be handled via Apple. I’ve spend 3 hours going back and forth between both companies, and have not been granted a resolution. I have requested from quicken a manual override, since they received my hard-earned money. I escalated this to their customer support supervisor and was told something to the effect of “tough, contact Apple for those disputes.” I firmly let them know that since they are the 3rd party developer that handles and processes these overrides that they are essentially in violation of deceptive advertising practices. Like Dude… your website says “Money-Back-Guarantee.” I’ve had no choice but to escalate this to the FTC and have filed a complaint with the better business bureau. Never in my life have I thought that I would have to file a legal complaint against it, but if they seriously want to waste more money fighting legal challenges, doesn’t that tell you a lot about their business practices?

Easy to set up. For me it’s great! Tracking my finances - I only have to look in one place for everything. Love it!

They force you to use a bot for support, which is not helpful most of the time. And then you finally get an agent, who is only helpful some time, but mostly just telling you to delete and reinstall the app or use the web version as an alternative.

Tried it for a year. Takes way too much time to set up, constantly having to re-log into accounts. And it doesn’t do anything that a spreadsheet doesn’t do

Yet another app requiring a subscription cost to be able to use it. My goodness, EVERYTHING is a subscription these days!

The UI is intuitive and easy to use, but I have had several issues where duplicate transactions have been created. When trying to remedy the issue by deleting the duplicate transactions, the program glitches out and does not allow for the transaction to be deleted or recategorized. This seems to cause the desktop and phone apps to get out of sync, leading to it being hard to trust/know what is correct. Long story short, would not recommend due to these glitches. Probably going to switch to a different service after my subscription is up.

Simplifi suffers from the same poor development as the larger products I use like QBO. Poor syncing capabilities with external accounts (the number one reason I wanted to try Simplifi), and an interface that is very counter-intuitive at times. Support is also garbage, unless you like "disconnect the account, and wait 24hrs" as an answer to your issues. Their "solutions" don't work.

The app will allow you to view your info but that is pretty much all I can count on. I can generally make one update to a transaction but subsequent updates fail.

I’ve been using Simplifi (maybe renamed now?) for a while and the tracking of spend and investments has been working well for me. However, trying to use the app to track spend against a budget has been problematic. It’s like the focus is on cash flow rather than spend. So if there is no income (i.e. retirement) then trying to use the “Spending Plan” feature as an “envelope” system doesn’t really work. Nor do watch lists as they are fixed to the current calendar year (as far as I can tell). I’d love better features for tracking spend against a budget for use in no-income (aka retirement) circumstances.

Continually provides inaccurate information. So many useless notifications is a huge distraction. Shows one-time payments from years past as monthly recurring charges. This subscription was a big waste of money.

Don’t bother. Does not work.

By all means download this app if you enjoy sync errors, debits marked as credits, incompatible accounts, and missing transactions. I spend more time making corrections than I do analyzing my finances.

I’ve been a Simplifi user for years now, ever since they shut down mint. The app had been working okay for the most part, however, in the last few months it’s gotten worse and worse. Nothing is categorized correctly, even after I manually update the category multiple times. The rules are completely broken, and nothing gets split or categorized correctly. Honestly, this app is a hollow crappier version of its former self. I’m actively migrating to something else, and I advise everyone else to do the same. This had the potential to be good, but given the numerous price hikes, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. Garbage.

This could be a really great app but falls apart on usability for most of the little things.

I always thought I had decent financial literacy. After putting in all my financial information and letting Q crunch it all together, I realized how much I didn’t know! My financial literacy has shot up with the powerful tool of Q. If you’re serious about managing your finances, use Q. The cost of this product has already paid for itself many times over for me.

I love the comprehensive subjects that are recorded, downloaded and/or reported on. It truly is a time saver and reference point to analyze & document personal, Contractual and Self-Employed finances. If I may add a "wish feature" or 2, it would be: 1. Add Horizontal scroll bars along with the current Vertical scroll bars. 2. Add an "instant back" link to my previous page. Currently, I must use menus to navigate back to my previous page.

When Mint shut down I was forced to look elsewhere for a budget tracking app. Quicken Simplifi is begrudgingly what I opted to use based on other reviews and it has been an incredibly frustrating experience. I am constantly having to correct how it categorizes purchases, it doesn’t seem to automatically categorize at all based on words in the purchase or even based on the merchants that I’ve made purchases with previously. Frequently I’m having to direct recurring bills or payments to the ones I’ve asked it to track. The process of having to set up my accounts and budgets all over again in another app is the only thing keeping me on this one. Please, developers, DO BETTER TO IMPROVE YOUR PRODUCT.

Was working alright but randomly would stop working and i would need to reset all my recurring bills etc. then suddenly stopped connecting to my bank account and wouldnt reconnect so im left with the wrong info and no way to fix it.

I’ve had issues linking accounts I wish there had been a trial so I didn’t waste money.

The auto sort into categories is poor. There is not default category for subscriptions. I spend most of my time in the app correcting the transaction category. Mint was the gold standard and that was years ago. Now you have to pay for products that don’t come anywhere near the simplicity and ease of use Mint had for free for over a decade

Do not get if you’re not sure, to delete your data you have to fill forms, call customer support, and jump through sooo many hoops just to delete your account. DO NOT recommend at all.

I’m a long time Quicken user, since it was on a 5.25 floppy disk (LOL). I stopped using it about 15 years ago due to lack of parity on Mac with Windows version. About 5 years ago, I started using it again but was disillusioned by how clumsy it was on Mac and how often it lost my data whenever an update arrived. I started to revert to my old way of tracking on spreadsheets and was fumbling along looking at alternatives when an offer to use Simplifi came up. I thought I’d give it a fair shot and did - after about 2 weeks of using it, it meets my needs. It’s not fantastic but I have one tool to look at all my accounts at the same time. Thats actually quite helpful.

Very long time Quicken user. Simplifi was decent until recently. I lost my connection to Venmo last year and have never been able to reconnect. Not a huge deal, just been entering the transactions manually. Now, after recent update, i can no longer connect to Robinhood. It’s been 9 days, and is a much bigger deal since i do most banking through Robinhood. I have seen multiple people posting online having same issue. Wish Quicken would take a more serious response to the issue, like sending an email addressing the problem. Quicken assist, the automated assistant is no help. Disabled accounts and tried numerous times to reconnect, but keep getting the same error… FDP -101.

Quicken Simplifi has been a huge disappointment. I have multiple high-usage accounts that have lost connectivity, and there does not appear to be any real resolution in sight. On top of that, manual accounts are calculated incorrectly, which makes the app unreliable for tracking my finances. For something that requires an annual subscription, the service is abysmal and nowhere close to acceptable. I expected a paid product to be stable and responsive, but this has been frustrating and unusable.

Don’t believe the other reviews. This program is glitchy at best and problematic at worst. Doesn’t maintain connections to accounts - constantly having to reconnect. Way too expensive for the countless issues and lack of truly valuable information. Does not recognize payments made and shows late payments. Terrible. Really.

After uploading five months of transactions into Quicken Simplifi, Budget, I discovered that there are no memo fields to identify transactions within the software. For instance, PayPal transactions come through as PayPal transaction. But gives you no hint in Simplifi what the transaction was for. And there is no editable field to indicate the vendor. Also, the reports are very limited in Simplifi, and you cannot print out category lists or account lists. I also just found out that there is no way to transfer transactions from simplify into quicken classic deluxe so I will have to start from scratch in order to get memo fields. I am not happy!

After the latest update I can no longer access my Robinhood details in app

They removed the option to add a rule when renaming/recatogorizing a transaction. They make a lot of mistakes with categories and now it’s a FULLY manual Process to have future transaction categorized properly.

They will set you up for a $90 automatic renewal and will keep it even if you cancel the day it renews. They make it extremely difficult to cancel. The App is useless. They don’t offer anything you can’t do on your own. Alerts are always a week late and seldom correct. Avoid at all cost.

I’m trying to get a refund but the phone number isn’t even a real business number and they don’t answer!!!

The app is decent. It would be great if transaction categories could be saved. If I apply a category to a transaction, it should carry over, by default, to all future transactions from the same business. Also, my primary bank hasn’t been supported by Quicken for at least six months now. It was working when I first started using Quicken. A message pops up saying Quicken is aware of the issue and working with the bank. The data in Quicken is not useful to me if it doesn’t include the account I use the most. If it can’t be re-added to Quicken, I’ll have to find another product.

I’m getting tired of these vibe code changes recently. They’ve changed reports so much that they’re unusable right now. They show you a bunch of unusable tiles on the report screen so you can’t even see all the categories right now, just the“top” ones. Good thing my subscription is ending soon not coming back to this app.

Frequently misclassifies transactions, often renames payees inaccurately, and struggles with tracking recurring transactions (both missing transactions and linking transactions to a series that are completely unrelated. Spending Plan feature is useless. The reports are ok and being able to visualize aggregated income/expenses and spending categories across multiple accounts is essential.

One of the most complete finance management applications, but it needs compatibility with Apple Watch for better comfort, when it comes to seeing finances from the comfort of your hand

The annual subscription is absolutely worth it. I can see all of mine and my fiancé’s assets at once, categorize transactions at any time, and edit what’s needed to make the monthly reports useful for my budgeting. My only issue is that a lot of the recurring bills settings and categorizing have to be done manually, the software isn’t perfect at doing it automatically. If you don’t adjust it yourself then the report and alerts it provides you won’t be accurate.

Great if you don’t mind reclassifying transactions every couple months. Not sure how it has 4 stars. I have used it for more than 2 years (since intuit killed mint). I am ready to try something new.

Mostly this program is fine for what most people need. However, there are a few functions that highly-detailed users might need. One, I’d like to track my credit cards based on the size and due dates of the statement; this does not always match the month that charges are made, and it’s the paying of the card that actually affects bank balances. I’d also like to see my Planned Spending as unspent money, similar to how the former Mint app allowed you to see what was left in your budget. Lastly, there are several linked loan accounts that do not allow projection of extra payments or any transactions at all. Why not!?

At first things were great. I had an issue with quicken not showing my payroll and waited months and they still haven’t fixed it. I eventually had to fix it myself after countless hours figuring up numbers. As of this morning, my payroll is messed up again and certain deposits from the bank aren’t showing on quicken. Beyond frustrated with this.

I’m kind of annoyed with this app lately. No matter what I do I cannot keep my accounts logged in. All the info is correct. Kinda disappointing for a paid app…

I have never run into a more frustrating finance app. It seemed ideal - but it was only AFTER I paid the subscription fee that I found out OnePay wasn’t supported. Since that’s my main checking account, that is an absolute dealbreaker. It would be nice if you offered a free trial, but I guess that’s just too much to ask.

I use Quicken for bookkeeping for my small business. The app and website make it incredibly easy and straight forward. Much easier than quickbooks!

I found a math error in the app. My projected balance was wrong. That’s a big deal if you are trying to figure out if your checking account will have enough money. Simplifi Support worked with me and said “what happens in iPad is that the mobile app does not work all the time is possible it get some troubles as one sometimes, so we recommend to use Simplifi web page also in your iPad instead of mobile app”. The poor English is not mine. I restarted the App and it corrected this error. But when do you know you have to restart the app to get the correct number?

This is so very helpful - one suggestion is going an option for weekly goals as well as monthly goal (I get paid weekly and so. Ring able to contribute weekly to a goal / having that option is super helpful!)

Can’t use the app without paying

This app is very well structured, makes it easy to see how much I’m spending at both broad and granular levels, and also doesn’t drain battery and heat up your phone like other apps do. I am docking a star because the auto-classification of charges has been getting progressively worse for months. The fast food chain ‘Cava’ gets tagged as a bar. My cloudflare bill gets tagged as a charity donation. A frozen custard place got tagged as a bar. Uber is dining and drinks. No matter how many times I change it, the app never learns.

I’ve waited two months for them to fix the issue with connecting to Golden 1 bank and nothing. Can’t do my budget if my financial accounts are not accessed. Waste of money!

My iPhone and my iPad budgets never match. It’s very frustrating.

I’ve been using this app for years and have all my transactions categorized as I like them. The latest app update took away the “spending over time” reports so now I have to start over elsewhere. Very frustrating

Great app if you are a visual person. It’s good at detecting reoccurring payments. However, terrible at detecting category types. I just bought subscription and used it first time and it just labeled itself as electronics. There are a lot of ways to analyze your spendings. It feels like an analyst app which I love.

The lack of basic security controls in this app is surprising. Simplifi does not require login or biometric authentication to open the app and stays permanently logged in. Anyone with access to your unlocked device can see your entire financial picture. This may be acceptable years ago, but not today. Most financial apps provide: • Face ID / biometric lock • Session timeouts • Re-authentication options Relying solely on device security is not sufficient for an app that aggregates sensitive financial data. Incompetence and greed have ruined a good company and product.

I have been a Quicken user for many years and recently switched from Quicken Classic to Quicken Simplifi because I needed a money management app that works with tablets and Quicken Classic does not do that. After downloading the app and subscribing to the service I immediately realized that Simplifi lacks in many areas what Quicken Classic does have. Just two examples; Simplifi does not have the familiar register you find in each account in Quicken. For example it does not show the running balance after each transaction. Simplifi does not provide for an option to print an account register for a chosen account. I find the app very disappointing and will most likely figure out another option at the end of my subscription.

It is good but could use some OOMPH for account updates. Had issues in updating categories and other activities, hence a 3 star rating.

Not worth it. The appearance is poor. The app sends messages about pay and bills days late. It doesn’t match transactions if the amount is different than last month. It takes more work to make it work than the value or insight it provides.

When you sign up, you cannot use any of the features until you subscribe to a plan. Everything is locked away behind a paywall. It’s also really difficult to delete my account. There is no delete button. Overall, it’s difficult to use.

Really nice budgeting, finance, and tracking tool. The setup takes some time and it isn’t perfect, but works very very well for the cost.

I hoped to replace my spreadsheets with this app, but it’s not dependable. I have to re-categorize things multiple times and even when I set the rules, the app categorizes, however it wants which means that I’m never sure how much money I have left. Also, a huge flaw is that it does not let you carryover your balance from one month to the other.

Don’t subscribe through the app store. Quicken offers a “30-Day Guarantee: You can request a full refund within 30 days of your initial purchase or annual renewal.” Apple doesn’t honor this policy and denies refund requests.

The three big issues I have: 1. Recurring transactions can’t be set up with splits, which makes absolutely no sense if you’ve got a mortgage and want to be splitting your payment by principal, interest, and escrow. 2. If you were splitting a transaction, none of the lines can be negative. I quite often liked to show the full price of something I was paying for and then a negative for the sale reduction, or coupon, etc. 3. When splitting a transaction, you don’t get to put a description for each line item. I quite often like to put in the description of what I was buying and only being able to do that for the summary amount is just not helpful to me.

So far this app has been a waste of money. I only have access to iPhone 16e, and the app doesn’t allow me to update certain things and when you talk to the chat bot you will quickly learn that you cannot report a problem unless you are on desk top. Then they tell you to post it on community. And you will quickly find you can’t post on community either. This is absolute racist against iPhone users lol! Apparently iPhone ushers don’t budget? get it together! If you are going to charge so much provide a service.

I had been a Quicken user in the past. After a few years of free wheeling I thought it would be time to start using Quicken again. I still find it useful but not nearly as easy to navigate. There are so many features and functions it is hard to get at what I need. If there was an ability to hide some of those it would be helpful. Maybe there already is and I will eventually find it.

Frequently need to reconnect to my accounts. Constantly fails to sync all data. Will be moving to a more reliable app. Update: Giving Quicken another chance. Took some time and effort, but I think I have resolved my issues.

I have noticed that this app hasn’t held up its promise to its customers. I got this app and the subscription because I wanted to move away from having to manually enter transactions daily. So far I have needed to return almost daily to edit the messed up and misplaced transactions. Not that big of a deal I guess until I do have to manually enter transactions and the $ amount displayed not changing. Reached out to a live agent who gave me many steps to do, as I was doing them and updating her she ended the chat after 2 minutes of no response as I was trying to get through multiple steps to solve the problem and after having told her that it was taking me a second. For the price of this subscription it shouldn’t have all these problems and agents should have more access to make improvements on their end.

Awesome app. Easy to hook up accounts, even had my little credit union in it. Automatically categorizes payments where possible, if not possible you can make rules to do it. Nice retirement planner. Net Worth dashboard widget. Split transactions. “Watch” buckets. Tells me how much I have to spend for the month after subtracting all bills, predicted income and planned spending buckets. Highly recommend

Everyone should have a budget and watch their finances. This is a great tool for that.

The spending plan feature includes a pseudo envelop like system and a “left to spend” surplus bucket. The problem is the “left to spend” doesn’t include any overages in the envelopes. It could mislead you into thinking you have more left to spend than you actually do. The envelopes’ balanced rollover each month, but there isn’t a clean feature to allow you to replenish them from your surplus, which feeds into the notion that your left to spend is not real. Also, if you receive one-off cash from a bonus or commission, it will reduce your left to spend for that month only. If you don’t deploy it immediately that month, it does not carry forward. So the spending plan feature makes it look like you lost it. Bottom line, it’s not really helpful for true financial cash flow management.

It’s a decent app - nothing special. Lots of issues with connections to various banks/ accounts/ etc. But it gets the job done. Now they significantly raised prices out of the blue. They know we have our data and budgets and investment history here and it would be tough to move. If I were choosing a finance / budgeting app again today I’d find another option.

I was using the personal annual subscription with one account, and then started using the Personal and Business subscription under a new account to get the discount. Shortly into it, I canceled my subscription to the original account. Well, I just had the original unused account auto-renew. Apparently the cancelation didn’t stick. I did this all sometime earlier last year. I just attempted to chat with a “Coach Kevin” to get a refund for it, and they said it is not something they can do—even though it’s obviously an unused account and I proved the email to my current Personal and Business account so they can check that I’m honest. Hopefully this review hurts their bottom line enough to revise policies and enable better service. Their response was: “…sadly we are not able to process the refund as this one is out of the 30 Days Guarantee we offer for the subscriptions for more than 7 Months, so what i can offer to you is to cancel the subscription so once this one ends we will not charge you any more and this one can expire.”

I use it every day. Although I wish I could have widgets that could show how much per category I have to spend vs overall spending.

This app looks fantastic. The user interface is clean, modern, and very intuitive—honestly one of the better-designed budget apps I’ve used. Navigating categories, viewing spending trends, and setting budgets all feel smooth and well thought out. Unfortunately, the core function of a budgeting app—accurate, up-to-date bank information—is where it completely falls apart. My linked accounts frequently failed to update, transactions lagged by days (sometimes never syncing at all), and balances were often incorrect. I spent more time manually checking my bank than trusting the app, which defeats the entire purpose.

There needs to be a clear way to disable the AI chatbot. With all of the privacy and security issues with LLMs, this has no place near financial accouns. Don’t force this slop on your customers as an excuse to raise pricing.

I’ve been using this app for about six months and thought it was really good. Until the beginning of the year when suddenly the connection to my Venmo account failed with a message saying that “Venmo cannot connect right now. Please try again later.” Several weeks later, I finally contacted customer support and was informed that it is a known issue that they are”working on”. I’ve been near nearly 6 weeks without Venmo connectivity I receive payments from customers daily via Venmo, and this is an important feature that is lacking.

I downloaded the app thinking it was free, my mistake. The very first screen you see after creating an account forces you to choose a paid subscription option. I realized the app wasn’t for me so I wanted to delete the profile they forced me to create. It has been 30 minutes of me going in circles to hopefully delete my data (email, phone number, and password) but they make it impossible if you have never subscribed. They just keep that and won’t let me at least get rid of the account. That alone shows how shady their business practices are especially with what they do with your data

I’ve been using Simplifi ever since Mint shut down. It has promise (and a slightly over complicated UI) but they have to get their bread and butter basics right. No flashy UI helps when connections with major/popular banking institutions like Venmo, Merryl, Fidelity keep breaking and take several weeks to fix. They have just a couple (excellent) support personnel in their user community, who are clearly under-supported and over-worked. The Simplifi tech team really needs to get their act together.

Love seeing at a glance my portfolio balance on my phone. Some days fun, many days not so much but in for the long haul!

Still not what I hoped for. I switched to Simplifi frustrated with Rocket having duplicated transactions and the difficulty of editing categories. I’m used to being in control, sorting by spreadsheets, and having my own budget in Excel, where I can also calculate things. Simplifi allows me to edit categories, which is great. It has, however, not “learned” categories very well as of yet. Rocket asks when you change a category if you want it on future transactions. In Simplifi you have to dig into the menu to set a rule. Quicken does not seem to allow for easy updates to manual asset entry. You have to set up some sort of transaction rather than just simply editing the balance. I’m not trying to create auditable records, I’m just trying to track income, expense, and asset values. If I remodel my house, and it’s worth more, I should be able to simply change its value. I’ve not yet been patient enough to try and set up a budget in Simplifi. It’s just too hard, when Excel is so easy. I think these softwares “overthink” things trying to be easier to use. I’d love a software that has the advantages of downloading all my transactions, but also lets me simply define categories, and then asks “How much do you want to spend in this category this next year? Based on last year, you spent $Xxxx.” I have one account that is two factor authentication that needs to be reconnected every time I open Simplifi. That’s frustrating. And one morning I woke up to all my manual asset opening balances duplicated. As was recommended, I deleted the duplicate opening balances, then a week later, they made a change, and my balances went to zero. Back to the problem of editing these balances, I’m deleting to accounts and reopening them with an opening balance. With both Simplifi and Rocket, I love having all my transactions automatically loaded. All I have to do is check the category is correct. I put a lot of energy switching to Simplifi, so I’m going to ride this horse for a while. It’s still easier than sitting down and manually entering transactions. Rocket lost me when I did my annual spending report for 2025, and there were a bunch of duplicate transactions. I lost trust after having to sort it out on Excel, then go back and correct Rocket. Instead, I switched to Simplifi and did all that work setting up the 2025 transactions so I could create a budget based on the previous year’s expenses. Sometimes starting from scratch is easier than searching for errors.

I got this app due to its savings goals feature and cost. After two months of use, the goals feature has wigged out and doubled all my goals!! In Quicken-style, there is no estimated fix date. The savings goals also have no contribution history. Bless the hearts of customer service, but they are not the developers of the app and don’t seem to communicate. I have moved to Monarch Money and it is so much better! I investigated YNAB but an app is too complicated if you have to pay a trainer to learn it. I wanted to love Simplifi, but this BIG hiccup with goals, poor developer communication and lack of support pushed me over the edge.

There’s been an on-going issue with Venmo connection for over 30 days now with no support or updates on the reason. As it’s a popular app for personal and business payments it’s unacceptable to be down so long without proper transparency. Won’t recommend this App to my business clients until fixed.

I really love the projected cash flow feature of this tool. The problem is if you have savings goals where the money is stored in a multipurpose account I can’t see the effective available balance in the cash flow graph. It’s really kind of a big bug. People have been asking for this since at least 2022 Also. A feature that seems to make sense is to have reports and graphs and clickable pie charts for the spending plans. That seems like a no brained feature that doesn’t exist. I really enjoy this app but the ignoring of customer requests is a. Little sad.

Been using this for a while but recently the dashboard has been frozen and unable to open transactions sometimes. Website works fine but it makes it hard to want to use if I can’t take it with me on my phone.

Costly, lacks features, poor ability to see historical trends. Mint was flawed but this is garbage. No QA before rolling out data impacting changes. No notifications when accounts stop connecting. Seemingly run by nonprofessionals.

It’s fully replaced the need to sign on to countless different credit card, banking, and investing apps. Integrated seamlessly with all my institutions, so I can see all my balances in one place. Takes all the guess work out of managing my budget. Would highly recommend!

I was really disappointed with this app after my previous experiences with Quicken. I had hoped that it would capture previous expenses and then suggest a budget based on monthly averages. It doesn’t do that. It captures expenses and assigns a category (and it will summarize each month with those categories.) That said: 1. When you correct a category (for instance, if it categorizes your life insurance as car insurance) it doesn’t remember that correction the next month. So you have to change it every month. 2. It doesn’t give you a proposed budget based off of previous spending that you can then tweak. It gives you a blank sheet to put all of your expenses into your budget. (Using a spreadsheet is easier than building a budget in this tool. ) 3. Once you have a budget built, it doesn’t have a meaningful interface to see where you are off budget for the month. 4. Canceling results in a complete loss of investment. I made the mistake of paying up front for a year thinking I would save money across the year. I wish I would have only paid for a month so I could have canceled this immediately. It is not the helpful tool that Quick Books was.

Worth the small fee and easier to use with less spam or ads compared to other budget apps

This app was working well for me until my accounts glitched out and in trying to reset the connection, all my historical data was removed and all my series Id created deleted entirely. I had spent months setting everything up and it feels completely wasted. I reached out to support and they said “oh data shouldn’t be deleted when resetting your connection, but since it was, there’s nothing we can do. Manually readd them.” Wayyyy too many glitches for something that costs that much a year, especially not having a way to backup your data. This is what we get for trusting the cloud.

All of a sudden, the data in my manual account is a mess - duplicate transactions, wrong balance etc. And I can’t correct it by removing the duplicate transactions. Next time, make sure you test everything before releasing new features

Recently subscribed to replace Empower’s Free Dashboard App which developed chronic Yodlee synching issues. Simplifi has good features and better account syncing, however, found that the mobile and web versions don’t always match. If I make an adjustment in a particular module or monthly charge, they don’t always replicate or adjust correctly. Today, the dashboard doubled a major monthly deposit into a checking account. How does that even happen? As a matter of fact, the mobile & web sites handled that situation differently and didn’t match each other OR the actual balance! Was informed by help chat that this will sort itself out in a few days!!??? Why am I paying for this? Won’t! This is simple accounting. I am sympathetic to errors in data transmissions but this is INTUIT. No excuses. Certainly expected better.

Excellent to control budget

Before you buy into the false promises of this product, go to their own forum and read about the significant problems discussed by users. I tried really hard to like it for over a year but gave up as it doesn’t work most of the time. Rather than fix it, they come out with more useless features that also don’t work.

This is actually a 5 star software. I just can’t find a link to give a suggestion. This program badly needs Reoccurring Invoices. Currently each month I would have to CREATE 45 new invoices. No thanks. This seems like a simple upgrade badly needed. YES? No? Maybe?

I’ve been a Quicken “on premise” user for many years and figured I would try the Simplifi web version on a Black Friday deal. Wow!!! What a difference!!! No longer waiting to download transactions and the UI is a massive upgrade. Glad I did it..I can now check all of my accounts across multiple devices with no issues. Simplifi has simplified my life.

If I wasn’t familiar with bookkeeping at or budget tracking at all, I might enjoy this a bit more. But frankly, it’s too expensive considering all the things it is coming up short on. The goal tracking has bugs that don’t update it with multiple users reporting the problem but no fix has ever been offered. I just learned that it won’t support loan transactions. You go through the steps of connecting your loan account and get frustrated wondering why you can’t link it to a transaction, but you have to go into the account itself to figure it out. If you haven’t seen used quickbooks and loved the use of rules, throw all those expectations out the window now. It is so limited. You can’t put perimeters on like price points. I like to nerd out over my budget and this is the first time I’ve allowed myself to actually pay for software and not just use my own google spreadsheet. Honestly, this isn’t worth it. No wonder they always have it 50% off.

I loved this app while it was working but when I had an issue with my accounts connecting I experienced the worst customer service I have ever received. It’s been 2+ months and my issue hasn’t been resolved. Meanwhile another budgeting service has been able to connect accounts with no issues. Working on transitioning, especially if Quicken can’t do better. I’ve had to continue to follow up and receive ambiguous responses and get asked for the same screenshots over and over again with no results.

I would not recommend: use quickbooks! And if anything go buy quicken on their website. Neither they nor Apple will offer any help whatsoever if u buy the app from Apple.

Quicken Simplifi is close to being a complete budgeting app. My complaint is if you have a “bill” and you have it accounted for in your spending plan, it shows it as unplanned spending when you clearly have the money set aside for it. I just don’t use the “bill” section. I, like others, find it frustrating I have to wait until a charge appears before I can place a name on it if I want to do something customized. This all being said, with patience in the learning curve and round about ways to make it all come together it’s worth it. I like tracking every single dollar I am spending so I can know where to cut back and make my budget hit perfectly every month.

You can even do the most basic things like group restaurants and cafes together, I’ve kept hearing that this is very nice and simple but this app is completely useless

This app would be infinitely better if you could edit multiple transactions at a time. Further, why is the review toggle justtttt barely too far low on the screen so that I need to scroll down? Could use enhanced graphics and visualizations like Monarch has ( ribbon chart, etc.)

When sending emails with either upcoming bills or bills paid or deposits , I would like to see details in email and not have to open up app..this would be tons more efficient for a quick notification and I can use my regularly scheduled nightly review time to verify and get additional details. Also a nightly or weekly review method would be great too.

Helpful app, but some of my banks aren’t supported.

Whatever update they did recently has wiped out 2 years of transaction reviews, recurring bills & income, all of it. Yesterday when I opened the app it was fine. Today it’s like I’ve never set anything up since 2023 when I first purchased the app. I can’t reach a real human or open a ticket with support. I’ve been very happy with it up to this point but this is beyond frustrating.

Does not recognize payments by vendor but only auto matches by exact description. Ends up having multiple payments due to same vendor in the month. The recurring series has the same issues. Terrible for cash flow planning.

This is a much improved version of the Quicken I tried last year. It’s worth the cost. 5 stars if I could integrate TSP and my auto loan effectively. So some integrations aren’t there but it handles all of the others very well. I would also recommend more robust category support and the ability shift categories for all same vendor transactions from the individual transaction.

Has problems finding all transactions including some big ones. Also requires a lot of work categorizing , marks property taxes as restaurants etc. so spending a lot of time correcting things. So good for getting an idea of where the money is going but not completely trustworthy. Not renewing.

This is ridiculous and there hasn’t been a support update since April. You should refund users who use computer share for their subscription fees because the product is not working as advertised and is showing incomplete data which basically makes it useless.

I love the app. It gives me a clear overview of all my finances and helps me stay on track. Some connections to certain financial institutions or life insurance accounts don’t always sync perfectly, but it seems like the team is always working to fix those issues. Overall, I’m very happy with the app and use it every day. It’s a great tool for staying organized and on track.

Simplifi has a lot going for it as simple but full featured financial app. Unfortunately, it’s been plagued with issues. It’s worked *just* OK much of the time, but riddled with poor sync performance, missing transactions, bewildering transaction linking, duplicate transactions, odd UI behaviors, and more. Basically, every time I open Simplifi, I feel like I have to check to see if account balances are correct. Kind of defeats the purpose. Also, numerous horrendous support experiences over the years—I’ve stopped calling them. Lastly, constant bank connection issues! “Connection broken…” Right now, account amounts are missing and more. 4 year… I’m moving on.

I had Mint since its inception and it worked flawlessly and was free. Then Intuit bought it, canabalized it, then shut it down off ramping the customers to their advertising platform masquerading as a financial management site, Credit Karma. I purchased a subscription to Simplifi hoping to regain what I had for free. To this day I cannot add all the accounts I had in Mint, vehicle valuation tracking is gone, and it constantly generates bad data and miscategorizes simple transactions. Forget about speaking with a human, you get a chatbot that sends you in circles. Absolutely disappointed in this product and leadership at Intuit.

I am a former mint user and was using the free empower app which was very good until their recent upgrade. Quicken Simplifi has everything you need without over doing it. Very user friendly and you get the bang for the Buck!

I took over the house keeping life when my wife joined the air force. I’ve never been the type to keep a budget. Never really cared. But once I took control of the finances, I realized how unorganized and how much we were actually struggling. The amount of credit cards and subscriptions. Simplifi was running a Black Friday deal, and I said what the **** Once I finished putting in my accounts in, it made it Barney style(rah). I can see everything as if it were in one account. See the bills that are coming, my left over money at the end of all the expected expenses. Amazing. I can even make a goal to save for and my expected target day. I will always use simplifi now. I almost don’t want to tell my wife I’m using it so she thinks I’m a genius 😂😂 (I reread this and I realized I Sound like an add. I’m a former marine , and ups driver just to humanize my review )

Simplifi was easy to set up and connect with most of my accounts. Connecting my assets was problematic and it didn’t keep my home value connected so some work there. I have a credit card that I have a deal on and treat more like a loan. Simplifi wants me to pay the whole balance and keeps telling me I’m going to go in the hole. I’m tired of getting those messages. Overall it’s worth it to get a Birds Eye view of all my cash flow which is what I wanted.

Great budgeting app that lets me see all my transactions in one place

The app is very helpful overall, but one major limitation affects real-world use: cash transactions cannot be closed automatically within a series unless they’re linked to a digital payment. In many everyday situations, cash is still the only acceptable form of payment. For example, I hire a lawn-mowing service in the summer and a snow-shoveling service in the winter. Both providers only accept cash, which is very common for seasonal or independent workers. Because the app forces every transaction to be tied to a digital payment, there’s currently no way to close these entries properly unless I link them to something that doesn’t exist. Not all transactions in the world will be cashless, and the system shouldn’t assume they are. It would be extremely helpful if the app could allow cash-based entries to be created, recorded, and closed automatically as part of a series without requiring a linked digital payment. This change would better reflect real-life financial scenarios and make the app much more flexible for users who work with both digital and cash payments.

I wanted to love it but I can’t get it to pick up all my bank transactions so I deleted it. There’s also no free trial so I paid $6 only to discover most of my transactions don’t show up. Wasted $6.

Subscriptions are the work of the devil, that aside there is a price increase this year, but I fail to see why. Some features were removed and I don’t see anything added. Not that adding features is a valid reason to increase the god awful subscription mentality. This increase is nothing more than taking advantage of customers already dependent on this app. I will be looking for alternative even if it costs more.

Good for budgeting and keeping track of your finances.

This app is so bad at everything, it’s kind of amazing. It can’t keep track of basic things if they vary by even a cent, and sometimes takes other transactions that are wildly different and puts them into those pre-assigned slots. Seriously, how can it be this bad???

Do NOT pay for this app. I’ve been looking for an app that did more than the other financial apps I’ve used in the past. I have used Bank of America mobile app, SoFi mobile app, Excel, MINT. I thought to myself “for this price point of Quicken it’s got to do things that other apps I’ve used don’t do”. I was wrong, it does the EXACT same things as the other free apps. This apps so called “planning Tools” doesn’t plan anything. All it is a credit score tracker. There is nothing special about this app whatsoever.

I like Simplifi, but there's one feature I would like to see added. Sometimes, we anticipate a large expense later in the year, such as a planned trip. Since this is a one-time event, it would be helpful to add it to the budget without it affecting the overall comparison to the prior month and year.

App functions as a good mint replacement

This service offers good reporting and tracking capabilities, but the way this attempts to rename and categorize transactions is simply terrible. The logic is deeply flawed, leading to entirely dissimilar merchant names being lumped together and miscategorized. Even after repeatedly fixing the same transactions (which is tedious) the same mistakes continue to occur.

It is a good program for seeing your entire investment. The spending plan is a little different than envelopes and the reports aren’t always what I want.

I found this app to be fairly complicated and inaccurate. The balance of my banking statements was inaccurate. Also, I found the app a little confusing to use. Definitely more complicated than I need. Also, because I got the app through the App Store, the company wouldn’t refund the money directly, but said I had to request the refund from Apple.

A bit cumbersome for someone not savvy enough to needs improvement on categories snd tags

I used to be awful at saving until I was taught to use excel. Everyone knows how horribly tedious that can be. This app is the excel sheet + everything you could need to track your finances. I do wish there was a better connections with other apps but that isn’t necessarily quicken’s fault. Amazing app

I was a Mint user which was decent but not perfect them switched to Monarch. I never could get Monarch to download accounts properly and customer support was lacking so I switched to Simplifi. I can honestly say I have had no issues using it and it does everything I need it to do. Good job Quicken!

Since downloading this app, I’ve gotten two fraudulent charges on two separate bank accounts within about a week of adding access to my bank accounts and it happened two days apart. These accounts I barely use. I don’t think the connection to my bank is safe. But the functionality of the app and tools were great but I just don’t trust the open connections to my bank. It’s unfortunate.

I was a Mint user for a number of years. I was disappointed when it went away. I tried several apps including EveryDollar. I resorted to just Excel until I stumbled on this app. The best budgeting app I have used in 30 years! The dashboard keeps me on track, and I could customize. Try it!

For years I used mint for budgeting, but we had to switch when it was bought by another company. Quicken works well. I wish it cost less!

Easy to use, great BOA integration, updates are fantastic and the pending transactions coming in is also nice. The key issue is the reminders. They don’t always match up when you link transactions, it’s overly complicated to link transactions. I should be able to just click on the reminder and add it to the register right from the reminder vs having to create the transaction, then reopen and link transaction and then maybe it removes the reminder maybe it doesn’t. When it doesn’t I have to manually delete the reminder. Really need to fix that part make it closer to Quicken

Who ever wrote this interface never used a budget for planning . The interface is confusing, with complicated menus that don’t work all the time. Not renewing this app.

I have a difficult financial picture. Several non traditional accounts that have non downloadable securities and annuities. The accounts I have for these don’t download despite Quicken having most of them in their list. Some have broken connections for months. Tracking them manually doesn’t work either because I need a valid ticker symbol. Which doesn’t exist. My banks and credit cards all connect and downloaded fine, as did my other investments. But I need the entire investment picture, and I can’t get that with Simplifi. If you have a simpler financial picture, this would probably work okay. It doesn’t in my case. I asked for and got a refund.

For some major financial companies their sync doesn’t work while other portals are working. Support kind of throws up their arms rather than actually fix it. And no resetting connections and starting over doesn’t fix it either

As a CPA and an Excel fanatic, I’ve used every personal bookkeeping platform available. Quicken was good aged out. Intuit has been working on this product for a while and it is finally working great! I can sync my Apple Card and my Venmo account. So dope. Good job.

My wife and I have both enjoyed this app and the ability to manage almost all of our account accounts in one place. We love the separate sections for spending plan, bills, etc., and have definitely started to use it more heavily. I do wish that some of the features were easier to use on your phone because that’s the only place that I access it and it would be great if the parts talked to each each other more efficiently. There’s a lot of blocking one thing so it doesn’t appear in another section going back-and-forth between subscriptions and spending plan and bills trying to link things up. The savings goal is not directly attached to the other sections so it doesn’t show up when we automatically transfer money into our high-yield savings underneath our savings goal section. Again, we haven’t searched around as of late, but when we found this app, it was the best one available. We still enjoy it, and we will continue to use it, but would love to see some more updates as we go along to make things more seamless.

My account randomly crashed and now none of my data is visible and no accounts will connect. I just keep getting the same error. It’s been months, had the issue escalated multiple times to multiple teams (or so they tell me) and still nothing. Zero transparency and when you ask them they just give you the run around about how they’re working on it when there’s no evidence of that at all. If you want a platform that’s reliable then you’re better off looking elsewhere.

As an accountant I’ve used a lot of softwares. For personal I’ve enjoyed Quicken classic. Recently switched over to Simplifi business. Over all great app, one complaint is the budgeting app. As of right now business expenses and income do not show up. So my invoices from clients are not counted as income?? Otherwise would be 5 star.

I’ve spent the last hour and a half just trying to log into Simplifi and still haven’t been able to get in. Was in a constant update password loop. I contacted support for help, and unfortunately they were completely unhelpful—offered no real solutions and didn’t seem interested in resolving the issue. Very frustrating experience, especially for a paid service that’s supposed to make managing finances simpler.

This app’s notifications are out of control. I will get 5 notifications for a single event. Some notifications don’t even makes sense. This significantly reduces the value of an otherwise useful application.

It really is simple to simplify my life and is quick to quicken my focus on budgeting.

This is a great budgeting tool

I switched to Quicken Simplifi from Quickbooks because the yearly fee for the program was so expensive for Quickbooks, however I cannot print to have hard copies for my accountant. I use my iPad and would like the capability to print reports at end of month or year.

I enjoyed all the features of the app but would like to apply them more effectively.

Once Mint was no longer an option, I had to search for another budgeting system that would work for my needs. This was the second one I tried, and it is SO much better. Honestly, better than Mint. The apps (for iPad and iPhone) are so well organized, I can do everything I need without logging onto a computer or the website. I love that I can rollover budgets (which was the issue with the first one I tried after Mint) since that works best for how I budget. I feel more in “control” of our finances with how I can lay out and view everything and my future plans. So happy I landed on this budget system!!

I still miss Mint. I lost a lot of data tagging with the import that I’m still a bit miffed about. Simplifi is better than nothing for tracking expenses but the user experience just feels clunky. Swapping the category for a pending transaction sometimes yields a duplicate transaction and syncs are slow and sometimes, I still have to force a 2nd one to get new transactions. Splitting transactions is a bit awkward with +/- options. Transaction categories being organized under expense or income types vs intuitive names with the option to mark subcategories as an income or expense just adds another layer of “thinking” when I tag transactions. I don’t utilize spending plan features and wish I could turn off that detection. I use it to track business expenses and income sources in one place and it does that. It just feels like a software engineer designed all of the interface functionality and not a UI/UX person with an intention to make it intuitive.

I have been using this application since it’s original release. Excellent tool to keep track of your spending and overall financial health. It gives you the ability to slice and dice your spending in any number of ways.

App fails to sync all accounts regularly. Vanguard account for example stop sync’ing every few weeks and require you to re-sign in, accept terms again, etc. Quicken needs to figure these processes out with the financial companies.

I am glad mint shut down to switch to quicken , I have like 5 accounts that I used for my businesses as well, they listen to their customers and the keep imporving the app! A big fan!

I’ve tried many financial management apps—Empower, Mint, and others—but Simplifi is by far the best. I won’t be going back to the others. Their tech support is excellent, and while there are a few areas that could be improved (as with any app), overall the experience is outstanding. Highly recommended!

One question for the devs…why is it so dang hard to cancel and delete my quicken account? Why are the instructions for deleting under the California privacy act hidden? Why can’t I delete my quicken ID, even though my subscription is cancelled? Why am I getting bills due this week even though I deleted my individual accounts? Folks, save yourself the headache and choose Monarch.

I have been looking for a quicken replacement and was hoping that the same company could make a suitable replacement. It needs the ability to mark future/recurring reminders as scheduled or paid. Not all bills are paid the same day they are due. Most people schedule them on the due date but this app has no way to mark that so you know what you have already scheduled for payment. It needs to be able to mark it as scheduled, move it from upcoming and put it with the transactions as pending.

I am very disappointed with this app. I was really hoping that it would work. It has all kinds of problems. It keeps giving me errors when I try to set up my financial accounts. So the app is useless if it can’t load my data!

I want to like this program but I cannot get it to mesh with my two Citibank accounts. Have tried everything. Messaged Simplifi. Messaged Citibank. Neither responded.

This is advertised as having a 30 day money back guarantee but when you go to request a refund you can’t get it.

I love how it organizes my bills and payments, but I struggle to create a budget that works for my family. I’m new to the process so I’m sure I can figure it out once I get used to it.

Would give 5 stars if the Budgeting piece was stronger.

My only constructive criticism is that Intuit should add more automated connectors for online accounts. About a third of my accounts are filed as “assets” and require manual updates. Apart from that, it’s a great tool for tracking personal finances.

I purchased this thing not knowing it wants all your bank account numbers to access them. They assume no responsibility for any hiccups or problems if they their app gets hacked. I am not even going to use it but instead just buy me some good old fashioned note books and keep track of what’s going on.

On an iPad, it LOOKS like the web, but they scrunched up the columns so they can't be read. Also, the categories can't be expanded. They expand on an iPhone, though. Basically, I have to open my laptop, which means I don't need the app then.

I don’t know what is going on these days between Simplifi and TIAA Cref but they don’t seem to be talking to each other. 99% of the time it gives up with a connection error. It’s been like it for the past year with no sign of any improvement. Very frustrating!

When I lost Mint, I thought oh my goodness I can find something just as good, as I was not paying a nickel for Mint and I thought certainly something that you have to pay for is going to be more robust, more user-friendly, and more of an aid in my everyday financial life. I was wrong. Simplifi is cumbersome, and there are so many things that are hidden and quirky. It makes for a very difficult experience. Customer service has been lackluster and I would definitely not recommend this to a casual software user.

Exporting data is limited to transactions, which is the sole reason for my downgrade to 4 stars. Let me export my billing list, my networth history, my monthly flow summary, anything else! The data views are great, but dang why is this part so horrible (can’t even screen print effectively).

I have found the “user friendly” Quicken Simplifi so very easy and effortless to set up. Today so many programs require maximum skill. Information from various financial organization is presented in a clear and easy read. I am a senior and recommend this APP.

Easy setup and you get updates automatically

I love using this app for its ease of use and its intuitive categorization of expenses. It helps me track all my finances in a single place. However, its compatibility with outside institutions has made me reconsider its merit. I have been unable to connect my retirement account for months, and I just ran into the issue of connecting Venmo as of August 2025. This account is a non-negotiable to me as it is a very integral factor in my monthly expenses. We are still awaiting a resolution. Update: Venmo has started working again as of Sept 2025.

My initial review was that this was a very basic program with limited reporting functionality. However, when I logged in today I was surprised to see that the reporting capability has been improved and can now provide most of what I’ve been looking for without having to export data and create a pivot table. Now if Quicken can add functionality to do year to year comparisons, that would be great! Thank you!!!

I like the program, but I think I would like it more if I had a better understanding on how to make the most of it. There may already be training available, but I’m unsure if it exists.

Simplifi has 3/4 of the structure to easily surpass Mint, but they are just sleeping on it. In the past year there have been zero major improvements to the app or UI. Graphs. The biggest glaring miss is their graphs. You can view net worth over 6mo, with *6* data points! You miss all of the ups and downs and can only see a pointy, super low fidelity graph that you can’t even drag on for more information. Huge miss. Data reliability. Mint was far from perfect with data scraping going offline somewhat regularly, but usually it was short lived and it was periodic. Simplifi seems to *always* have at least one of my banks not working. Transparency. I want to know when data was last fetched successfully. When it failed last. When it will try next. Some of that is available deep in menus, but I want acres to it front and center, and last updated should be prominent on the Home Screen. Quicken: please invest more into this app. The foundation is almost there, but you’re missing a lot from mint. Having had it for over a year, watching these relatively easy fixes be ignored (I’ve sent feedback) is frustrating. If these issues remain in another 10mo (my renewal time) I’ll switch to someone else like Monarch. Upto you!

So many financial softwares lock you in a budgeting box. Our income and expenses aren’t anywhere close to steady throughout the year, so that kind of planning does NOT work. What does work is setting up expected recurring and future transactions and forecasting balances based on that. I don’t need to track how much I spent on groceries, I need to know if I’ll have enough in the account to pay the bills next month. Thank you for making that easier, and more automated, than any other system or software I’ve used.

Getting a constant error when I try to link my bank. Quicken says it's my Bank's issue, and my Bank says it is Quicken. Paid for the subscription and has been unusable since day one... I'll update this review if they ever fix it. Until then, hoping for my money back. I've been working with their customer support and there has been no updates on the bug. Asked for a refund since the product has been unusable since day one, but they couldn't do it since I bought the subscription through app store. Unfortunate waste of money. Update in Sept: Still broken, been working with team to troubleshoot but keep getting the issue and error codes. App is unusable.

It’s a pretty good app but the inability to print reports or make reports into a pdf seems like low hanging fruit and fairly easy to add!

Perfect dashboard, great transaction detail, reports are perfect for what I need.

Quicken stopped synchronizing with Vanguard in January 2025 due to systems changes and still no solution so incomplete financial app.

Done after a year of use — I was really hoping Simplifi would be a replacement for Mint and I really tried to like it. It works fine but it stopped connecting to my retirement fund, my PaxWorld investment fund, wouldn’t connect any of my Synchrony credit cards, and didn’t estimate your car worth. I also just didn’t like the dashboard and layout. I switched to Monarch. Sad I paid for half a year I didn’t use with Simplifi but I’m much happier on Monarch now.

If you encounter an account problem, they’re slow to help or resolve

If you make a mistake it won’t let you correct it later. Not enough room for income. If I show a bill or income on a certain date and it comes out early or late because of a Holiday or weekend it doesn’t recognize. Then is to hard to correct. I deleted the whole app to try to start over. Again no go! No number or way to get help. Use the KISS Method for those like me. 81 and living the dream!

Quicken Simplifi is very close to perfect for me. One frustrating issue for me with the app is that it does not allow for recurring split transactions such as a paycheck or mortgage payment. It allows you to create recurring future transactions in whatever frequency that is needed but you must wait until an actual transaction posts to your account before you are able to split it into its proper categories. When you create any recurring future transaction, you are only able to use one category.

I enjoy its functionality. It is great and it is really organized. It does loose 2 stars because it doesn’t automatically update which is a huge downgrade. Unless you open it, it will update and send you notifications via email. I would prefer it did that in the background. Then it constantly needs authorization for bank access. This one may be a bank issue though so not sure but it is important to point out. All things considered I prefer this over the other 2 highly ranked

Enjoying this app- if you don’t need business bookkeeping its perfect. Get a few repetitive notifications that are annoying. But it helps me remember when something is due and pay it on time.

I had used Mint for many years and transferred to Simplifi Money after Mint shut down.I have tried very hard with this new platform, but I am sorry to say it is very difficult to use compared to Mint. Mint was so intuitive and gave me exactly what I needed. Simplifi is much more clunky and constantly characterizes items and also leaves a long list of items which are uncategorized at all. When you try to go out of a report section on spending, the program hangs and you need to go back to home. I am presently looking at other platforms.

This app is almost everything I'm looking for. I used to use Mint in a way that was kind of like the spending plan, but it always felt incomplete. My main complaint, though, is it seems very slow to update, and it's hard to tell if the app has updated at all. I find myself logging in to my other accounts just to find out if Simplifi is actually reflecting all the most recent transactions. This could be fixed by just adding some indicator that tells when it was last updated.

When you have multiple accounts and credit cards it’s good to have all the data in one place . When it’s offered by the secure and reliable institution it’s even better. I wish there was a better categorization for linking transfers from one account to another/institution to another.

Recent bug fixes are making tv application buggier, extreme changes in balances that are incorrect and duplicate pending transactions showing. Used to love this app may be time to find an alternative.

No ability to save and automate reports, filtering kind of stinks, some of their out of the box category tagging is way off. They are really behind the ball with this product.

I have used this app for over a year. It seems like the bank links work, but I noticed that my balances were reflecting incorrectly in the app. I decided to address it, and was recommended to relink my bank accounts. After 9 months of reviewing and categorizing my transactions, they were all deleted and reuploaded with the wrong categories. So unless I go through and categorize every single transaction, my budgeting history is completely and totally gone. Don’t bother paying for this

I have used the tool for 4 years now. It’s a well designed tool that gives me visibility into my finances. However the bank connections lately have become incredibly flaky, with at least two not syncing at any given time. This is really unacceptable for a product whose core function is tracking transactions. For almost $80 a year I expect better.

Missing transactions is the latest bug and honestly it’s the only reason for the app to exist and yet, you enter a transaction and it disappears. They say they’re working on it but they have other ‘known issues’ from 2024 that still say ongoing. I’m already subscribed so I’ll probably hope it gets fixed but I encourage you to chose a different app for your finances.

Updates are quick. Like the Spending plan component. After using that part for 5 months, now have some history to better fine tune the spending.

Wish the spending plan tracking would update when I categorize expenditures. It ignores areas I’d like to focus on. Still like the net worth feature and ability to balance a checkbook. That was the main reason I subscribed. Was tired of using Excel.

I have to keep correcting the same entry every month. It will not connect to Apple accounts.

Whatever the current version, upon installing on iOs dont work. Only start introducing 3 pages keeps on going on loop. There is no option to log in. This was not expected of an award winning service provider. Please fix asap.

I would be lost without this App. I came from Mint and actually this is so much better!

I came to Simplifi as a paid alternative to Mint.com, but it’s been a major disappointment. The app cannot connect to my retirement accounts at Citi, so my net worth view is incomplete and essentially useless. Even worse, my Ally savings account — which is still open and active — has shown the same incorrect balance for over five years. Simplifi says the account is “up to date,” yet it displays a phantom –$168k balance with no transactions, despite the account actually having a positive balance of just a few hundred dollars. Between the missing retirement accounts and the broken Ally feed, Simplifi provides no reliable picture of my finances. It’s nowhere near what Mint offered, and charging an annual fee for this level of inaccuracy feels like a ripoff. Buyer beware.

It’s all good but … I’d like to be able to create a rule based upon an exact amount. For example if you pay a certain amount every month by check on a mortgage then it should be able to key on the exact dollar amount dollars and cents.

I love having all my finances summarized in one place. My only complaint is it loses connection with a couple of my financial institutions quite often. Also reconnecting takes multiple tries

I’m not keen on leaving negative reviews but this one earned it. First off, there’s no trial period. Ok fine. I got over that and paid up. Then it identified recurring transactions based on 3-5 transactions which happened 12-24 months ago and happily assumed I would suddenly start paying these again. But it failed to see recurring income transactions. Maybe I’m an “edge case” where my financial situation does actually change often but this is a far cry from the mature product I thought this was going to be. It also connected to but ignored a mortgage account. Hullo? Last but not least, it identified credit card payments as irregular income even though it had access to the bank account sending the payments. It’s half baked. That’s why they’re not giving a trial period. So: not worth it.

This app is great and handy. It would be even more practical if it automatically totaled search results in “Transactions.”

SCAME!!! BEWARE!! My bank hasn’t linked for months and they continue to say they are working on it. Of course it stopped working AFTER I paid. I contacted support and they say there is nothing to do with this app is A SCAM! Doesn’t work once you pay and they will come up with every excuse to not make it right. Zero money back or anything and it’s been 3 months since I’ve been able to even use the app.

I moved over to quicken simplify because Mint ended. I have always liked quicken and simplify is a well maintained, has sufficient resources for R & D, striving for improvement at a great price

My subscription just expired and I don’t want to renew. Guess I’ll just export my data and delete my account and… NOPE. They lock you out (without deleting your data which remains on their servers) if you don’t pay again for another year. PS still waiting for the ability to export investment history which has been “coming soon” with a grayed out button since I subscribed a few years ago. I figured it would be simple to leave since they were building this but turns out it was a lie to lock in customers.

Powerful financial management tool with strong features to track and understand where you dollars are going. There are some quirky things that happen with some regularity. 1. Recently, Quicken duplicated many transactions across various accounts and categories - This really messes financial tracking up. Support opened a ticket but said they needed more current data than I provided. 2. consistent assignment of regular transactions to the wrong category. 3. Randomly moves accounts into “Bills” rather than planned spending. There are others but you get the idea - Need to tie off on loose ends like this. Doubt that I am the only one seeing this type of behavior.

I’ve been using quicken for probably 20 years and for my needs, it was always a bit too robust. I also wanted it to be web-based. Simplifi is exactly what I need to track my accounts, plan ahead, and keep track of my budget.

After using Intuit’s Mint product for years, I was quite frustrated with being forced to find a similar solution at a comfortable price point. Luckily, I found Quicken Simplifi and have been very happy ever since. There’s a slight learning curve when setting up accounts, budgets, recurring payments, etc. However, once it’s all setup, it’s actually quite intuitive. I also appreciate that Quicken provides instructions on any updates that are pushed to the app. Overall, I’m very happy I made the change and highly recommend the app.

So we check it all the time. Lets us see if anything is happening to any account or card that we are not expecting. Loved it when it was Mint, and free, but this is even better, and worth the cost to us!!

As a professional bookkeeper, I find Intuit Simplifi to be a solid tool for tracking monthly income and expenses—especially for basic household budgeting. One of my favorite features is that the app can be shared between users; my spouse and I both have it on our phones, so we can see at a glance how much remains in our budget at any given time. This has been a real relationship saver—especially for the “numbers nerd” in the family—because I no longer have to explain where all the money went! That said, there are a few limitations. There’s no reconciliation tool, which can reduce accuracy, and the app requires regular maintenance to get the full benefit and ensure accuracy. Transactions sometimes auto-categorize incorrectly, so they need to be reviewed and updated. I would love to see an option to roll over excess funds or expenses to the next month. That way, any overages or shortfalls could be applied forward, making the budgeting process even more useful.

Linking with finical institutions is a moving target. Simplifi has a great team that works round the clock to improve the app and keeping the links working.

I'm not overly impressed with Quicken Simplify and can understand why Intuit dumped it off instead of spending money to make it user friendly. I'm not sure how long I am going to stay with Simplify when there are others in the space that are probably easier to use. If I wouldn't have had prior experience with Quicken, I would have dumped the product within a few months. Hopefully, it will improve because I'm lazy and I don't want to deal with switching programs at this time. So for now, I'm hanging in there and waiting for good things.

I signed up for several apps after mint went away and this is the closest although it’s got an identity crisis when it comes to what it’s trying to do. The spending plan budgeting part is clunky I don’t know why one of these companies can’t just be mint!? They’re trying to be too clever id love to see how many people use the silly spending plan feature the way they designed it and not override a bunch of it to work like mint. Also the exclude from spending plan or report part is always nonsense, it’s almost really good if they just got rid of the annoying parts it’d be great

I was so sad when my last budget app, which was free, quit doing its thing. And then I tried Quicken Simplifi. It may sound cliche, but I couldn’t believe after my first year how I didn’t think twice about continuing my subscription as I’ve come to rely on this app. The budgeting is easy to use, the linking of transactions is simple and I can have all my accounts in one place. Works great!

I wanted something to track expenses. It works. There are a lot of features that seem overdone and too complicated.

The best part of Simplifi is the simplicity. I’ve used standard Quicken for years and it was always getting out of sync and generally information overload. I spent more time agonizing over sub categories and tweaking rules than anything else. Simplifi doesn’t have infinitely customizable reports and ledgers but it generally figures everything out and stays in sync. Downsides? Some thing such as how it deals with expenses vs transfers (which includes credit card payments sometimes) might be confusing but once you adjust it works well. You just need to decide is the credit card bill the expense, or the individual transactions.

The app does not allow you to login. The login function is out of view on the iPhone SE screen and you cannot resize or rotate to view it. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. The desktop browser version is great so hopefully this can be fixed.

Unfortunately many accounts aren’t linking requiring manual updates.

The UI/UX overhaul recently has been much needed. The spending plan is the one part of this tool that is a life-saver and I check it quite frequently. I remember purchasing this app for only $24/36 for a year, but when it renewed it was $72 for the following year That’s a lot for a budgeting app, so I may just renew not on the App Store if it’s cheaper to do elsewhere.

App won’t move past first screen. Can’t log in. I’ve made sure VPN was disabled. I’ve deleted and redownloaded app several times. It works fine on my laptop but will not work on Apple iPhone.

I’ve spent so much time trying to organize my own transactions and income. It doesn’t recognize my income as income. I could have made own spreadsheet with how much time I’ve spent trying to make it work.

I’ve been using this app for just under a year, and it has been almost useless. I spend more time cleaning up individual transactions than using the other tools. The first problem is if a change is made to a transaction or a series, you need to wait 3-5 minutes for that change to reflect. Next, if a series is set up to a common value, let’s say $20, and you have multiple transactions for $20 in a month, it will randomly apply those transactions to the series, requiring updating each and every transaction. Third, it automatically creates series when there is a value that is recurring, such as that $20. So if you happen to spend $20 at restaurant a couple times a week, expect to have to delete that series. But before you can delete the series, you need to update each transaction that was automatically assigned to that series. Fourth, forget about using this software to track your recurring payments from Apple. For example, if you have a monthly bill for an app, and you buy another app that happens to fall in the same week of the scheduled payment, it combines the two with no ability to separate one for the bill and one that is not recurring. You’ll need to create a liability account for the payment to post, then you have to create two more transactions that split the transaction. This might be a good software for someone with few bills and few transactions each month. However, if you use your credit card frequently, be prepared for a lot of clean up every month. For that matter, you’d be better off just using a spreadsheet than using this software. Quicken has always fallen short of producing a good software. For the longest time, you had such a limited selection. That time has passed. Forget this garbage app and find try anything else.

Signed up for quicken simplifi on my desktop and wanted to check out the mobile app. It won’t even show me a sign up page. Zero functionality. Reached out to Quicken about this and received and figured out what the problem is. The app is badly designed. It had no ability to resize text and it doesn’t work on shorter IPhones like the SE. If you have an IPhone SE don’t bother downloading because you won’t be able to login or see the whole screen. I really hope the developers rectify the sloppiness of the app. All customers should be able to use it.

I found an issue with their connection to Ally bank 3 months ago. Got a notification that it’s a known issue, but still no updates. Don’t purchase if you’re not 100% sure your bank can connect.

Does not work on an iPad. You can’t get past the enter passcode screen.

I have never been so frustrated by an app in my life. Unable to add past income, so I’m thousands of dollars over budget on day one. Unable to create a spending plan as all items are in “other spending“ and cannot be easily recategorized. I found the Net Worth being front and center and unable to be hidden very annoying. The app is glitchy, repeatedly gave “error, try again later”and I wasted the better part of a day trying to get it to work. I expected so much more from Quicken. Please do not waste your time or money.

Latest update renders the app useless on iPad Air. It worked perfectly before but now doesn’t switch between any windows like Dashboard, Spending Plan, Transactions etc. It doesn’t change the window. Also just started getting two multifactor texts instead of one. Not sure what happened with this latest release on iOS.

This is a great app, too bad I can’t add my acorns account as it always messes up.

This is a great alternative to other (mostly more expensive) bookkeeping options for small business. It doesn’t have a reconciliation function, but that (so far) can be overlooked due to the overall ease of use of the entire suite.

I’ve used this on the iphone for a while. I uninstalled it for security reasons when I went out of the country for a day. Now that I’ve reinstalled it all I get is a side scrolling advertisement screen. I’ve uninstalled reinstalled it with no luck. What the heck.

App is very poor and unreliable requiring connectivity fixes routinely.

I used this app religiously, and I just paid for another years membership and the balance hasn’t been correct since then. I have reconnected my bank multiple times. It’s really getting ridiculous.

Too cumbersome to setup and use. No real benefits and is extremely limited . Back to excel.

Simpli keeps me up to date with bills

They appear to be in some sort of dispute about data sharing with a number of the large financial platforms (ex Fidelity, Trowe, Gemini, Coinbase etc) making this largely useless as my accounts won’t connect. Pretty frustrating and feel like I was lied to about capabilities

I bought this app to track my spending in different categories. Unfortunately it doesn’t download transactions from my Ally credit card, which I use for 95% of my spending so the app is useless for me. And on top of that Apple won’t give me a refund even though I cancelled my subscription within 24 hours of buying it.

Confusing for regular user. Needs a lot of manual adjustments. Web site doesn’t work lol. Waste of money and time

1. Bad that they force you into purchase year subscription with no trial, to see if this app is right for you. 2. Apple won’t refund me and I installed, even though canceled subscription same day. 3. They won’t delete your user ID with an active account, which will stay that way for a year even though I canceled subscription. Be sure this is what you want or you will be out money, as Apple isn refusing refund and Quicken is unhelpful.

After multiple attempts at linking accounts and appropriately coding transactions to get some meaningful data and analysis out of this app, I give up. Even if I try to download the transactions to analyze in Excel that doesn’t work because the only option to download transaction data is a csv file that doesn’t import into Excel accurately. It does seem to work in Apple Numbers, but really, it doesn’t work with Excel. I guess there is a reason they don’t offer a free trial. A huge recommendation to find another app!

so you’re asking me to pay almost 40 dollars without even a way to try the product first? unbelievable…

It's been almost two months and my target card is still not updating in the app. They have no answers and since I bought through apple the can't refund me.

Major disconnect between bank balances displayed in the app and transaction totals. Was working through an issue on chat and the support person couldn’t wait for me to respond, immediately sent the “are you there” response and disconnected. Didn’t wait for my response at all. Of course it’s ok for them to take 5 to 10 minutes to respond, but god forbid the user has to work through something for a couple minutes. This after 1/2 hour of trying to resolve my issue. The app is basic and misses even the ability to select transactions in a date range. I can deal with the far too basic functionality. But when customer support is this poor, I’m done with a company. Their lack of customer service courtesy just cost them my company’s move to use the Quickbooks Enterprise Software. They are off the list now.

I am not paying for anything until I try it out first. Too many other options in budgeting apps. No free trial sorry but you are not getting my money.

The app is a bit confusing. I got this app hoping it would be as similar and straightforward as the old Intuit Mint app. But there are some features that require you to input names for purchases, which either have a title I never heard of or the app prompts me to name the purchase. There are just too many purchases to name them and input manually. Mint Intuit is used to name your purchases accurately and automatically.

I’ve repeatedly tried to get this app to connect to my bank accounts that require 2-factor authentication. The app tries to connect, then errors out an FDP-185 error every time. I’ve tried all their help suggestions to fix the accounts. Nothing works. This makes the entire point of the app useless.

This app isn’t very compatible with Discover Bank for some reason. Too irritating to try and figure out — requested a refund instead.

This app is good in that it is full featured. However, one thing would make it much, much better. Quicken, if you’re monitoring these reviews, please fix this. On an iPad with an extended display, the app constantly resizes to be too small on the extended display. It’s in this strange elongated portrait mode, and every time you resize it larger so that it’s actually readable, it resizes again. No other apps do this. Fix this, and it’s a five-star app. A bonus improvement would be to be able to alphabetically sort the watch list like you can on the web.

This is what I needed when they killed Mint. CreditKarma is nowhere near the same feature set, and it’s basically a giant ad. This is what I’ve needed for the last year or however long it’s been. I don’t even mind paying for the subscription due to the quality and support. I wish I could have ported my Mint to this instead of CreditKarma.

An important reason to try Simplifi was to sort expenditures according to their purpose. I believe (in the case of credit card expenses) that this is ultimately aided by the use of merchant category codes. Simplifi did a very poor job of categorising my personal credit card transactions and I would have to spend hours checking and correcting quite simple sorting mistakes, with for example hardware store purchases mis-categorised as groceries etc. This makes Simplifi unusable for me. I could do better than the app does by simply adopting the MCC table as a look up in excel.

I like the concept but it does need improvements! 1- the daily spending plan, no idea how that works and where does numbers come from. 2- saving goals and availability for each account, simply why? 3- goal contributions, don’t ask where that money comes from! Why? Because the availability doesn’t match what is in the account I got the money from. Don’t ask or make my link it to a transaction 4- goal withdrawal, don’t tell me how much I can withdraw! I should be able to withdraw all of it without the app giving me the AVAILABILITY!!! 5- refund option, there is none; it makes a difference on the year expenses overview It’s a good help! We have a good view of our finances and it helped us a lot to set goals and to reach them.

Ever since we lost the mint app, I have been looking for an alternative. For the last year I have been using the Copilot app. It is visually great and navigation is slick but there is certain functionality that it does not have. I tried it for year and came to this app on the recommendation of PC Mag but I must say it has been a disappointment so far. It seems Quicken lost its Mint developers and a different team tried to recreate it without much success. How can a paid app be worst that the free one. Navigation is cumbersome. You have to constantly scroll up and down to get to the information you need. There is no single birds-eye view of everything. The main widget in the dashboard just shows amount left to spend. What category, it does not say. So you cannot tell which category you need to scale back in. Creating a budget is not straight forward and it separates the fixed recurring bills from all others. Fixed amount subscription items and mortgage etc can be put into recurring expenses but I keep groceries and fuel and other non fixed items in the spending plan. The app never shows all of them in one place. It tells me how much I have remaining after fixed recurring expenses but that number is useless unless you don’t plan to buy groceries or fuel or anything else. Categorization rules work but the process is not very intuitive and you jump through several screens. Plus excluding certain income is a pain. I like to keep a percentage of my income out of the budget but the app does not seem to allow that. Rules also do not take into account the amounts which limit their functionality. Charting in the app a not great. A couple of pie charts try to recreate Mint’s charts but they are flat and not interactive. There is no monthly cumulative expenditure trend chart either. Honestly, looking at the paid options out there I would have happily paid for Mint. I will be weary of any app that doesn’t provide trial period. Now I am stuck with this for a year.

This app advertised itself as a replacement for Mint but it’s absolutely not. There’s consistently connection problems and still no connection to Alight which Mint had. The interface is clunky and good luck fixing your accounts if you accidentally closed them. They cannot be reopened which means if you try to re-add an account? Duplicates everywhere.

I tried a bunch of different budgeting apps before settling on the Quicken Simplifi. It was the best of the options. However, they are unable to link to all Financial institutions. I will set a bill is recurring, and it will duplicate it, replicate it, or delete it all together. I wish this relied more on AI to learn my budget categories habits and was more predictive. But again, for the options, this one was the best .

Took about few days to 1 week to learn the features and set up the accounts, bills and income. After the initial setup, it is very easy to use. This also allows me to make quick cash flow decisions on moving bills or adding bills. Would highly recommend it.

Never write reviews but I love this app to manage expenses over multiple rental properties. Makes tax time a breeze. Ability to create custom tags, classify expenses, and run reporting.

Downloaded just to find you you have to pay for it at the start

I love this app so far I’m new to it and it has so many solid features. The only thing I wish it had was the ability to categorize a repeating transaction solely based off of a dollar amount - my apple account bills me for its various subscriptions from different receipt names and so a flagged keyword would apply to several different subscriptions - I’d love to mark a subscription coming out and being payed simply on the recurring dollar amount. Maybe this could be implemented in the future!

Not suitable for anything but the most basic businesses. It has not way to track sales, or retained earnings. The balance sheet is inadequate. I loved the usability. And set up was a breeze! Needs more work.

When Mint went away, I tried multiple apps as a replacement. This one is hands-down the best and I even like it better than Mint. It’s really helping us track out spending, meet our goals and avoid extra fees. Inflation is killing us but this app is saving us! I love the cash flow page and I love how easy it is to reconnect to my bank (I have one bank that requires me to verify every day but the QuickenSimplifi app makes it so fast and easy to reconnect!!) Thank you for this effective and visually pleasing app!

The price is affordable to pay monthly and the usage is easy one you learn and understand how to use the app. Love the ability to sync other accounts so I don’t have to leave the app to look at bills because they are already synced to the app.

I used Quicken for years. This year I switched to Quicken Simplifii thinking it would be easier to have on an app. But it pulls data in incorrectly- not just assuming categories differently each time, but CHANGING THE PAYEE, so you can’t tell where your money is going or coming from. When I contacted support they said I could submit screenshots of the two examples I had, but until I had more examples they couldn’t enter a ticket into their system to be looked at. Why would I continue to use a software with bad data? Moving on to somewhere else.

This app isn’t going to be as helpful as you hope it is. And the tech support was not helpful is allowing me delete my account. I can only hope that my data was in fact deleted, even though what they were telling me and what I was seeing on my end were different. Monarch is the best finance app I’ve been able to find and does everything I want it to and more. Use that one instead, it’s the most value out of any of these types of apps.

After being shifted off from the “old Quick“ and then Mint, was it, I looked at other Apps, but after a few years realized Quicken Simplify was now the go to option. I’m to new to really critique it.

I love this version of Quicken! It’s very easy to use and the navigation is highly intuitive.

We signed up for $25 understanding the regular rate would be $50. Just got our new annual charge if $76 (with taxes). Very disappointed.

I used this app for 3 months. I felt like I was constantly recategorizing entries. It would also log out of accounts daily so I wouldn’t see all my charges. OR charges were doubling up. Wish I could get my money back.

I know this app has solid reviews but from a privacy perspective, after canceling my subscription, I wished to delete my account, so as not to have it live until my subscription ended. There is no option to do this either through the app or desktop. I called and was told it might take about 6 months. (?) Still holding for a manager…

In theory, this app would be great. In practice? It regularly fails to remove pending transactions or recognize recurring expenses. The “low balance alert” would be useful if it didn’t send alerts that my accounts are negative (they’re not). I can’t trust this app to give me any idea of a full financial picture. For the price of the subscription, I’d hope I’d have to do less work to keep it accurate.

The app might be OK, but if you can’t add an account because it doesn’t fit on the screen, so you can push the button, it’s pretty much worthless. I tried to add my mortgage account and it comes up with the disclaimer about the info that it takes, but you can’t scroll down to any kind of button to start the application. If it’s not responsive for an iPhone, it’s pretty much worthless to me

I’m new to the app, and while it's fairly user-friendly, there are a few bugs that need addressing. For example, when categorizing a transaction, if you select an account other than "Personal," it automatically categorizes the transaction as "Unassigned." Additionally, if you assign a category, it changes the account back to "Personal," which is quite frustrating. I'm considering going back to QuickBooks because it allows you to email a receipt and assign it directly to a transaction or category. In contrast, this app requires several clicks to upload a receipt, making the process slow and cumbersome so far.

What a dumb and complicated app it simplifies nothing, I want my money back.

It updates the account balances fairly well, but the transactions don’t follow along with it. It takes several hours, even a day to get the transactions in the list so you can categorize them. I do like the net worth tracker and that you can see all your finances in one list, even broken down into subcategories with savings goals.

The app has key functionality working. However, I am personally unhappy that 1. They do not support foreign bank accounts yet (mint did that well) and 2. Coinbase connection has been broken for a year and they have not been able to fix it. (Their coaches keep blaming Coinbase). If you have a crypto portfolio, it is better to find an alternate choice. Quick doesn’t care about crypto or crypto users.

I love the program but the mobile does not have upload of PDF files like Quicken Classic. This is a badly needed update. Most receipts sent are PDF and with this day and age you don’t need a computer to do anything. iPads and phone are able to do anything now. Quicken Simplifi makes it so you have to do it by computer. I can’t even do it by using web in browser (which is a pain in the backside) because it opens up the app. Please Quicken, fix this and make your application a 5 star application.

Very lacking in function and constant disconnection from credit card sources with constant errors of authorization access to common institutions.

This app prompts you for a year subscription with 0 option to test any features to even confirm it will help what you’re trying to solve. Very poor user experience and has forced me to use Rocket Money instead.

I signed up for quicken simplifi — they make you click subscribe and pay before you can start setting up your account. So I paid and in the very next screen I learned that my bank doesn’t connect to quicken. So basically they stole $35 from me. Disgusting.

My bank was not supported so I issued a refund. Quicken support says ask Apple then Apple denies the 30 day refund and will not give you your money back while quicken just says they can’t do anything. Don’t trust this company or Apple refunds. This is a total scam! Fraud!

Kind of a useless app when it can’t even calculate income vs bills correctly. App is incorrect more than it’s correct. Frustrating

App is not simple as the title suggests. It’s not intuitive, I’m trying to set up a budget and put spending “buckets” for each but it doesn’t let me. I’m not exactly sure why it doesn’t. Other apps let me do this with no problem. No wonder they don’t offer a trial! Beware!

If you are not willing/able to spend hours upon hours in setting up, refining, attempting to fix all the illogical categorizations, etc., then this is not the app for you (me). All the above, plus having to search in forums, etc. for fixes for all the idiosyncrasies... I have given it a valiant try over quite some time now, and finally have to throw in the towel. I personally need something, well, simpler.

As discussed in chats from a year ago, many of the category rules don’t work or update. For more detailed spending tracking, this creates a lot of extra work. I played with it for and hour and read chats. This is a basic function, and the fact it’s been an ongoing issue for years over a year should give everyone great pause in using this app.

l with the latest upgrade, my notifications are telling me that my projected balance is lower than it really is. it Took all my reoccurring monthly transactions and put them all weekly, so the projected balance is always negative . very frustrating! please fix it

Even though it says it scans receipts, and tracks mileage it’s useless for business. Don’t waste your money. Then he asked for a refund they deny it. Quicken’s getting terrible.

I used the app for 2 full months hoping it would get better the second month, it did not. It is not user friendly. The purchases don’t connect well. The AI is not adaptive to learning new things. 10/10 don’t recommend. It would be easier to use a free app.

My personal finance software journey started with Microsoft Money. It had one of my favorite (and now must have) feature in PF software: cash flow projections. Simplifi executes on this feature wonderfully. It pairs well with the other features in the app like Spending Plan and Reports. We were going through some tough financial times and Simplifi allowed us to navigate some razor thin margins so we never were surprised by a low balance and never had an overdrawn account. It also made it easy to see where we could tighten our budget, while being able to look ahead and see light at the end of the tunnel. The only critiques I will give is continuing to add connected accounts and fix some of the bugs with some of the current ones. And I prefer the computer app over the mobile. Maybe a simplified view option for a cleaner look on a smaller phone screen. All that being said I feel like I’ve still only scratched the surface on the tools and features of this app and I would recommend this app for anyone looking for a way to get their finances under control.

This software does nothing but display income and expenses. I’d rather use my kickass conditional formatting Excel spreadsheet, at least there it’s laid out logically.

The app has a very simple and great interface but keeps dropping/deleting transactions, especially if they are tied to a spending plan… I don’t have the time nor the energy to spend calories with their support team, will move to another platform when the subscription expires… missing transactions = unreliable platform, it really defeats the purpose

It was a 4-5 star in 2024. Now my renewal came this month, was paid, and my monthly “spend plan” section is all zeros. They tell me “ It will be fixed, no ETA.

Quicken developers have destroyed their budgeting tool, “Spending Plan” - now showing all zeros for all months. Support doesn’t exist. Changes to the code s/b tested more thoroughly before deployment so the end users don’t end up with a faulty application - yet they’re still going to keep my money. Go figure.

I was sold on the fact that I could import the mint data I had when they discontinued the old Mint website. What I did not realize until later, is that the data exported from Mint was total garbage- thousands of duplicate record s with different dates and descriptions so impossible to quickly fix. Spent hours cleaning up and only a dent fixing this garbage data.

Honestly how can you not have a custom date range filter or a previous year filter? And it wasn’t calculating one of my accounts correctly because a transaction was pending but my bank was reporting it correctly. Could’ve been 5 stars but you guys forgot the most basic element. 🤦‍♂️

So I had it for a week. I dog gone and loved everything about it. Set it up categorized about five or six weeks of work. And then I couldn’t get it to upload the daily transactions. When I called for help, they told me to take the bank account off and put it back on. They didn’t tell me it was gonna lose for weeks of that work. Some stayed but then with the bank account started back up. It brought up the newest transactions. It didn’t bring up the other four weeks that it disappeared so at least I could do them over. Not reliable support was horrible. They answered in Guatemala , rude, didn’t listen to the issues, and not helpful.

The Personal and Business software doesn’t work. And I probably wont get a refund through Apple.

I purchased a year long membership after a recommendation from a friend who told me this app helped them a lot with their finances. Unfortunately, no matter what I tried, I was unable to connect my Barclay credit card account. Without this, the app is essentially useless for me as I make the majority of my purchases with that card. When I called support they told me they were aware of the issue but had no estimation on when it would be fixed, but assured me they were working on it. Months past and every time I’d get the same answer so I finally decided to cancel the membership. I requested a refund as I had paid for it and could not use it, and they told me that refund could only come through Apple and had nothing to do with them. Apple only refunded me about a quarter of what I paid and said there was nothing else they could do. I got completely screwed out of money from an app that was supposed to HELP me with my finances! Barclays is a huge institution and it’s absurd they haven’t fixed this issue, they should advertise that so people don’t fall into the same trap I did. Waste of money.

I used the free trial and then a year worth of service. Absolute waste of money and I’ve tried. Honestly tried to get to where this app provides me with valued information but the app never stays up-to-date. All the accounts are always out of sync. It’s a great idea but doesn’t work at all for tracking finances when accounts are several days behind and even then the balances didn’t match that day or today. Makes zero sense.

I’ve never been able to see my finances laid out before me so clearly. I feel like I have a much better understanding of my financial situation as it clearly notes where all of my money is coming from and where it’s going. Amazing!

Tool doesn’t work with banks such as Merrill and there is no accountability to this. I have sought a credit and they said your 30 day window has passed. The issue with this is there weren’t issues in the 30 day window. Do better, Simplifi by name but don’t oversimplify by policies and accountability.

Keyboard doesn’t work to talk to support in their dumb chat that is only open during work hours with no phone number to call

When I first began using this application I was SO happy with how simple it made tracking my finances. I do not know what changed, but I am now constantly being met with error messages regarding multiple of my linked accounts. A quick google search reveals that developers are aware of these issues but can offer no ETA on when they will be resolved. I just cannot justify continuing to pay for a service with known problems in the hopes of them *possibly* being addressed one day. I will consider paying when I have a guarantee of the linked accounts function working once more.

When I first started putting all my accounts and bills/income, it was working fine. But after about few weeks, I haven’t been able to add bills or change anything. Also, some of my transactions show up in my bank statement, but not on quicken, so it’s saying things are past due when they aren’t. I have reached out multiple times and all I get is that they don’t have a timeline for fixing any of the issues, just given a ticket number and then wait for a long time. Will most likely switch programs once my subscription runs out.

Like many, I’m trying to track my finances better in the new year. I was looking for specific features in an app: uses bank data, allows split transactions, shows cash flow, has flexible categories, sends alerts, and is easily accessible from phone and computer. I was so relieved to find them all in Simplifi. I’ve been using it for a week and I’m a happy customer. I even realized my kids owe me some money! Hey, it works!

Was really excited about using this to budget. App is completely unusable every time I try to login it just immediately refreshes and does not work whatsoever. They of course charged me very quickly.

This app has lots of features, but the most valuable one — connecting to financial institutions is a mess. Look in the help boards and there are huge banks and brokerages that don’t work with the app, and their support just says we are aware of the issue — for months. Other apps don’t have this problem. Go elsewhere

Disappointed. Signed up for Simplifi after Mint went away but it’s a far inferior app to Mint. Constantly has errors when you try to save a new recurring expense, recategorize an expense, or otherwise make changes. Doesn’t successfully to several major banking institutions. Transactions remain permanently pending and don’t go away when you try to delete them. Overall, it’s merely adequate, which falls short of what a personal banking and planning app should do - especially a paid one.

After using the app for a few months it can no longer calculate my income after bills, the app even proudly displays incorrect math, stating 4,000- 1600 = 912.56. Concerning that a company who only does finance software can’t do subtraction correctly

App is riddled with UI/UX bugs especially with swiping items. I only picked this app because it was the cheapest that offered the MINIMUM functionality that I am looking for (and barely at that). They also just increased their prices as seen on their website so I will not be renewing. They need to spend a hefty investment on fixing up the app if they want to stay competitive. Also it’s weird how splitting a transaction doesn’t treat each new transaction as their own in the sense that I can’t tag, flag, or add different notes to the individual new transactions, it just effects the “parent” transaction which then effects every split transaction

My bank accounts are with Barclays and i was unable to use the app for what i wanted to because i could not link to my bank. wasted $36

All was going well. I was even impressed this time around. So, I was ready to print some reports just to find out you can’t print reports! So, I headed over to the “community” to add my vote for report printing. I came to find out that it’s been on the request list for 4 years! I just done get it. Simplifi can’t print reports, Quicken Classic Deluxe has no running budget, also requested a long time ago. Quicken-you’re out of touch with your customers. No wonder people like me can’t use your services.

It will not connect to my bank (a top 30 bank) or it does and then continues to disconnect so I cannot do my budget. Customer service unhelpful and even when bank was connected, it’s confusing and again customer service wasn’t helpful. There was no way to get a refund or assistance.

This app is kind of trash. I’ll give it to stars because at least it doesn’t crash. The web app is better. On this app: - I have no way to drill down on reports and look at sub categories.. this is infuriating, what’s the point of having sub categories if I can’t see them in a report? - I can’t select/modify multiple transactions at once on the iPad… What’s the point of a big screen if I can’t make use of it? - the swipe left/right transaction feature is not useful. It feels like they just did it so that they could say “me too” on swipe features. - it should be easier to pick specific months for reports and it should stay the same as I look at different reports. Right now I have to jump through a whole bunch of hoops to look at my September expenses in different reports. If this is the way it’s going to be I’m definitely not renewing

It’s honestly not that great and I miss Mint so much. I got a deal on the first year but I will not be continuing. Too many things just don’t function the way I want, and it’s not worth the price tag to me.

Had reset connection to bank 3 times (with 4 hours between) and it STILL Couldn’t link it to my bank properly MISSING my rent payment, so I made a support appointment. The dude told me to log out. Then I couldn’t log in! Wasn’t receiving emails and it wouldn’t recognize my password. Then he told me I had to call in 4 hours to see if I can find a way to get into my account. He tells me Wells Fargo is having issues w them… thats my only bank account so this app is useless. Why would I want to wait 4 hours for updated info? Why isn’t the connection automatic so I know how much money I have and can categorize and spend? Everything is in accurate in my reports. This turned me off to budgeting completely.

One of the most important features is transaction import from your bank(s). Seeing this up ran smoothly for the most part (some banks weren’t supported, while others failed to connect). I got my primary checking account setup and several others so I was satisfied. Within a week, the connection to my checking (the most important one by far) was broken. I’ve tried dozens of times to restore it, but it stays offline. Tech support wasted an hour or so of my life before giving up also (supposedly I should be expecting a callback but it been a few days already). Bottom line don’t pay for any subscription until you’ve verified that your most needed features are actually functional for you. If there’s no free trial period (there was none for me), take a pass on this dud of an app.

That’s a non-starter, Quicken. You need to offer a 30-day free trial and then allow people to pay per month

Like the app so far. One problem I have with it is half of my accounts won’t sync with the app. This is frustrating when you have to pay for this app.

I have tried Mint, Rocket Money, Copilot, Monarch, and YNAB. Simplifi has all of the best features from all of these apps and they truly have simplified budgeting for my household. As data analyst myself, I have truly enjoyed setting up my categories exactly how I want them. The rules work exactly how they are supposed when categorizing transactions. Spending plans and watchlist may look similar, but have a different functions. I can slice and dice my data and transactions as I need to better understand where my money is going. To get this app to a 5 star, they need to increase the 1 limit share accounts. I need to share it with my FA. Thank you!

The app has a bevy of known issues that never seem to get solved. My bank account balance is never accurate, cause forecasts to be wildly unpredictable and inaccurate. They keep saying they’re working on the issues but months later I still can’t rely on the tool. It’s now half of what I paid as they try to replace droves of fleeing users. Don’t bother.

I had high hopes for this app. It can’t seem to link transactions to spending plans, no matter how many times I go in and manually set it. It mislabels credit cards (this is through Chase). Not worth the price.

Overall it’s a really good app and service but then I had a problem connecting to an account and customer service felt like a merry go around of AI chat bots pretending to be people. I think I’ve given up and will go elsewhere

Transactions get duplicated and now I’m missing transactions. Not good for tax time. Mint was far better. This is the second app I’ve tried and the other Monarch was missing transactions too. I don’t know what to do now.

After mint shut down, this was the perfect place to go. It has paid for itself many times over. That said, I wish there was a way to see historical data on the projected cash flow graph, beyond six or seven days. I find it really personally motivating to see my bank balance improve over time. While projected cash flow does allow me to see where I COULD end up, because it doesn’t take into account planned spending or historical data, it’s essentially a “best case scenario” projection thats not really rooted in reality. A line graph that includes projected v. actual cash flow would be tremendous. Currently, I have to do this manually in Excel and it’s quite tedious. The account balance data is all there, please include this feature in future updates!

“Offers in-app purchases” actually means you can download for free but must subscribe to actually use it.

Many times I find it has the wrong balances. It appears negative when my bank says otherwise or it says I have double the money that I have. Some financial institutions don’t sync and it keeps trying and failing. The UI is overly complicated for a budget app. It’s trying to do things it doesn’t need to do. Yet failing at things it should do like categorize expenses. I moved from mint and will be moving on from this because it’s not a good alternative. Overall not worth paying a subscription for.

This is the first budgeting app that I can actually use and I use it daily. Something about the way it shows your current financial situation is so helpful for my visual brain. I can easily check my account balances, investment portfolio and the status of my savings goals, anytime, everyday. I HIGHLY recommend this app. Perfect for those of us who comprehend stats better visually.

It’s taken me a bit of getting used to how it works- some features I don’t understand well several months into use (I’m just using it for personal finances and money tracking). But overall it has a lot of great features that make it easy for me to see at a glance how my money is flowing. I’ll definitely keep using it and would recommend.

I migrated from Mint to Simplifi and have been very happy. I dont mind the monthly cost, because they have financial resources to invest in the product to make it better. Overall, it’s very similar to Mint, but more reliable and a better user experience. I utilize the features very extensively and have been very satisfied with end product.

Wow. If you tried to use Quicken a few years ago before the new simplifi version was available, you will be very pleasantly surprised. I gave up on the old version after a couple of months of frustration. Now, the connectivity with your existing accounts is much easier and much more reliable. Simplifi identified all of my recurring expenses and income and I created an excellent budget in a couple of hours. The app is always available to keep you on track. The only issue now is whether my wife will follow it! 😝 Hopefully Simplifi will come up with an app that limits the amount she can spend on shoes, nails, makeup, facials, wine, and spa treatments. (I was hacked! I disavow any knowledge of making that statement.)

This app is much more than a budgeting app, it’s a financial power tool that helps you track, categorize and optimize your income, expenses, assets, investments, and financial goals. I really enjoy using Simplify and highly recommend the app to anyone.

Finally, I understand where my money is going. I can budget and have control over how I spend my money. Quicken Simplify is the best.

Without a doubt the best budgeting app that I’ve used. It’s feature rich yet easy to use.

It took me a while to learn how to set up my spending plan, categories, rules and reviewing transactions, but now that I have it, I like it better than any budgeting system I’ve ever had.

Won’t sync with TD Bank, so the app is completely useless to me, and I’m unable to get a refund.

I’ve canceled my subscription and they say I haven’t. It’s says on my screen canceled. I’ve asked to clear my data but they refuse. App doesn’t work great so I’m not using anymore but want my data removed.

Bought a year subscription, because this app is supposed to be awesome. Right off the bat, only my checking accounts will link. All of my credit and auto accounts just give unspecified errors. I decided to skip those and push forward to set up the app, and now I’ve been stuck on “Working our magic!” for about an hour. A few API calls and an algorithm that analyzes transactions shouldn’t take more than a few seconds in a worst case scenario. Also received an automated email from the team lead with first steps, but it is formatted with white text on a white background, so I had to copy and paste it into the notes app to even read it. At this point, if it ever finishes “working magic”, I fully expect nothing to function. Take my advice, never buy promoted software that doesn’t have a free trial. Update: Finally got into the app, and it can’t even figure out that transactions with the exact same name and amount are recurring, so it keeps asking to add identical recurring transactions while saying I’m missing payments on the exact transaction. Absolutely DO NOT purchase this software. It does not work, and is absolutely a scam. At MOST, all this software is capable of doing is showing you your transactions. Everything else is 100% incorrect. Odds are high that your banking app can already show you transactions, making this app functionally pointless and useless. Account linking is broken for 99% of the things I’ve tried, so it isn’t even great at aggregating transactions across accounts. As a software engineer myself, I find it absolutely disgusting that a company would try to sell this and rip off millions of people looking for a solution to managing their finances. This company should be sued for fraud. Update: This app no longer even displays something as simple as my balance correctly. They take my balance and remove the pending transactions, but my bank already does that. So it shows my balance with 2x the pending transactions removed. This application literally gets worse by the day. Update: Still no fix to the double pending transaction removal. It appears as though development has been abandoned.

No way to see the app. No limited trial - just a big subscription window. No thanks.

If I could give it zero stars I would. Not sure where it gets the info from because I can have a thousand dollars in my account and it will tell me by balance is negative with no transactions outstanding. I have had to disconnect and reconnect to my bank accounts at least once a month since I purchased. There are free apps out there that you can use that are less frustrating or time consuming. I had used Quicken for years on my desktop so when that finally died I was happy to move to the online version. Total trash!

This tracks all my spending and syncs with all (or most) of my accounts. I can run reports. I can categorize and customize and even split all the expenses. I don’t use it for net worth tracking because I don’t want to see those gains and fees in my transactions. But it’s so helpful to see your credit card payments coming up and your paychecks and any regular bills/subscriptions coming up in a timeline. It’s very helpful. There is a budgeting part to go with it but I haven’t gotten into it yet. I need to track my expenses long enough to actually set a realistic budget. Oh and it was cheaper than all the other popular budget apps.

I was able to add my Apple Card sometime ago but now it doesn’t show up in my accounts. What happened?

The app doesn’t work and isn’t loading transactions for the last 5 days. Customer service was the worst and offered no help other than to upload screenshots of all my bank account, balances and transactions. I offered the transactions as proof of missing transactions but they wouldn’t look into the issue or cared at all unless having the bank account and balances. So shady and scam sounding. I’m not giving that info to a random person. They wouldn’t look into the issue or do anything to troubleshoot the issue. Even knowing there is clearly an issue with their app. No one should be giving out bank account info and balances for you to check into your connections with the bank institution and fix your app connections. It’s broken and not working rendering app useless and you have ridiculous people on the chat (Coach Dulce) asking for bank accounts and balances and doing nothing to move the ticket forward. They should be fired!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I love: it links to your bank accounts and auto sorts transactions into categories. The u.i. is very nice. Setting up budgets is simple and straight forward. Lots of controls and features, like setting goals etc. Great price. It's the best priced app of it's kind that I could find. I do recommend.

Used to work great. Now Chase balance is totally out of sync. I have removed and reset the connection, followed the support team, troubleshooting, suggestions, and deleted and reinstalled the app. It works for a short period of time after reset then goes tout a sync again. This app was great but is now useless.

I don’t feel like the cost is outrageous if it’s a good app. The problem is that there’s no way to know if the app works for you without paying for a year subscription first.

Pretty powerful money tracker, if you’re living pay check to pay check this will be helpful. I didn’t like how payments to credit cards don’t show up as expensive as, instead you have to add that credit card to Simplifi for tracking. The connectors to investment accounts aren’t great. Compared to competitors, Simplifi is able to pull in much more history for my accounts. Didn’t like that it’s not free to try.

I really like Simplifi. It’s simple to use and offers great features. If they would add the ability to do Monte Carlo retirement simulations based on the net worth and investments, it would be perfect! Fingers crossed this will be added and, if so, it becomes 5 stars.

Switched to quicken from mint, and I hate this app. Not intuitive, never categorizes correctly and changes the names of transactions to the most random things so it’s hard to recategorize. Wish I didn’t pay for it and can’t wait to switch to another app when it expires.

Just like their Mac app, they don’t provide access to the necessary account systems that you need. Secondly every single budget application seems to not care about your billing. They don’t even help you. They just waste your money. Don’t buy this app. Waste of money can’t help me organize my bills for nothing. How was it that you can’t login to various billing sites or even assist me with organizing the bills? Again, do not buy this app not worth it.

I foresee tracking cost basis in this app is going to be difficult because I will have to continuously adjust it every 2 weeks. However, it looks like the app can see contribution transactions. If most people are like me, they have withdrawals each paycheck and it’s automatically deposited at the same percentage to each investment. If Quicken asks for those percentages, the cost basis could be tracked without users having to adjust it. Paycheck contribution x 80% = Cost Basis for that investment.

I thought I’d at least be able to view the app, maybe see the interface at least, before being pressured to buy. The only info I have about what this app offers is in the description on the App Store, you cannot advance past sign up without subscribing to the tune of almost $50 a year. I wouldn’t buy *anything* I had never seen or used before for $50 but I guess Quicken DOES assume everyone downloading this app isn’t great at managing money. There isn’t even a trial. It’s just “pay us $50, may hate it but that’s our first lesson in financial risk”. Too many options on the App Store for that.

Fills in the gap for mint 100% and then some. When mint shut down, I was a bit devastated. Everyone was pointing out replacement options. But none of the others were up to the task of being simple and effective.

Consistently fails to connect to ncfu. Even following all instructions listed online to troubleshoot nothing works. Probably won’t renew my subscription after this year.

Would not load all of my accounts. Very hard to work with. Wanted to love the app but there’s just too much wrong.

I love this app but every time I open it I have to log in, it doesn’t stay logged in.

Like previous Quicken products Simplifi does some things well and some things very poorly. I was excited to find this app after Mint was retired and happy to see that it handled recurring transactions better than Mint did. I didn’t mind paying for it based on the additional features. However, just like previous versions of Quicken products, Simplifi misses the mark on some major functionality and makes it difficult to contact support.

This and Monarch are the best mint replacements I found. Simplifi has the best budget widget, but the app keeps signing out of my account multiple times a day which is frustrating.

The app sets an automatic “spending plan” with limited options for customization. For me, this is not useful at all. I just want to be able to set my own monthly budget and then categorize spending from my credit card and checking accounts.

Every time I or my wife go to open the app we have to MFA 4 times. Needless to say this breaks spending alerts, and makes using the service a PITA! We didn’t have this issue with Mint

I had issues with the app not working properly and the woman helping me continued to give me basic generic responses that I could get from Google. She was not reading my questions and I had to ask repeatedly to address the issue I was experiencing. Finally she offered to screen share to see what I was talking about and then after I showed her the issue, she just disconnected and sent me a message that chat is closed and to contact customer support tomorrow if I need assistance. It was a waste of my time to contact support. Not very friendly or helpful.

I switched from Mint and this fulfilled all of my desires. I wish I could track the history of savings goals. I’d love to know when/how much I withdrawal in a time period.

Good cheap money manager but needs some work on the UI for simple things like the ability to scale the y-axis in the investment and net worth reports

After downloading it and fooling around for hours trying to get my Apple Wallet to connect and my credit card to connect, I finally gave up and am asking for a refund. It just would not connect two credit cards.

I’ve been using this app for several years and I’m probably considered an early adapter before Quicken acquired the app. I was a big fan of it. This app is full of powerful features but I must admit that it’s full of problems and simply not worth the hefty annual subscription. The switch from monthly to then annual subscription structure was the last straw for me. I reluctantly forced to resubscribe to the annual structure because I don’t have the time to migrate all of my data and budget history to a new app right now but I WILL NOT be renewing my subscription and will begin the process of moving to a new better and polished app like Copilot over the next few months. I don’t believe that this app will be around for years to come. Quicken will likely sell it or shut it down.

I have been using Simplifi for over a year now. Obviously I like it, otherwise I would have deleted it the app. What I like: I like the simplicity of the app and the dashboard to have a quick view of everything. I like the ability to update the budget through the month. I also like the categorization of each transaction What I don’t like: I have to reconnect accounts many times and it’s frustrating. I don’t like the fact that it keeps adding transactions I completely deleted the previous month as upcoming transactions on the current month. Sometimes the app is not simple to use. I have to access 3 sections for just a simple action. New subscription: today, I was trying to access the app and I was greeted with a message saying that my subscription ended and that I need to subscribe to the biannually subscription in order to access my account. I went and checked all my subscription to see if I have cancelled/ended the subscription i have with Simplifi, and I never cancelled my subscription. So Quicken cancelled my subscription in their end and forced me to subscribe to a biannually subscription, which doesn’t fit my budget plan. So you said you’re in the business of helping people better manage their finances, but give them no option on what subscription plan to choose. I call it lying to your customers

I’ve used a lot of different finance applications over the years starting with Quicken Premier on the desktop. For me PERSONALLY, I am in the market for software that provides me with realtime financial transparency first, budgeting second. Simplifi fills that need very well outdoing similar applications such as Empower (formerly Personal Capital). For those of you looking for something that does zero-based budgeting like YNAB, this is probably not the platform for you. But consider that YNAB does not nearly come close to providing the financial insights that Simplifi is aiming to provide. Yea, having a budget is nice but for some of us we want to track assets, spending, create reports, alerts, and understand overall financial performance. Simplifi does this very well AND AS A SAAS PRODUCT, THEY WILL CONTINUE TO IMPROVE. My two cents, Simplifi is still a young platform with big plans (just read the developer comments on these reviews). If there’s a feature that’s missing or a workflow that’s a pain as designed in the app today, SEND THAT FEEDBACK TO THE DEVELOPERS! They want to make this the best one stop shop tool for you. Help them help you! My short experience with their customer service and development team has made it clear to me that they care. So hang in there and give it a shot :)

There is no budgeting feature. What’s the point of tracking without one. Total waste. I was hoping it would have a budget feature like Mint or Quickbooks since it’s Intuit. Waste of time. Please god add budgeting????? Why do you think people have finance apps.

So you can’t see the app until you subscribe- you do get a 30 day moneyback guarantee but to me it just doesn’t make any sense that I can’t see the product unless I buy it. I bought it because I saw good reviews on it yet when I bought it and I saw the functionality I didn’t like it so I had to contact Customer Service to to get my money back… I think it would save a lot of effort and if they were to just do at least a seven day trial where you can see if you even like how the app is formatted and how you can use it. Because it really is upsetting that you pay a subscription to see the functionality of the app and if you don’t like it, then you have to contact customer service to get your money back…….

The app won’t open now! App is up to date yet just won’t load past the welcome screen. Website works fine but if this continues, I’ll be looking for new software to use.

I'm writing this review as someone who actually likes this service. Web app has great functionality. Unfortunately, this functionality is not present on the mobile app. I don't think the developers realize that many people like to do their finances on their phones. SO MANY functions are not available on the mobile app. For example, you cannot mass edit transactions and change categories. You have to log onto the web app. Why?? It's so simple to change. Another issue is being able to change categories to have the rollover feature in the planned spending section. You have to log onto the web app to do that. I wouldn't leave a 1 star review, but I put these suggestions to developers to fix on the community platform months ago. Still no response from them. They clearly don't care about mobile app users. If this issue is not resolved soon enough, I will be taking my money elsewhere to an app that ACTUALLY cares about its mobile users.

This app incorrectly registers my income x4 in the budgeting feature and takes my investment income as disposable income in calculating a monthly budget (x10 more than take home). Not all investments show under net worth, but have to click thru to see performance of my true balances and positions. Massively misleading and buggy. Transitioned to this app from Mint and it’s 100% not a close replacement. Actively trying to find a new, different analytic provider. Two stars for not trying to sell me on new accounts and offers.

More than a year in after notifying and Simplifi being aware that their customers face a security issue where the faceid or touchid login doesn’t always present itself when the app is launched is VERY CONCERNING.

I can’t open the app anymore. I always get stuck on the “enter quicken passcode” page, even after killing and relaunching the app. Updating the app worked once, but I had to navigate away to get a OTP for Venmo and then ran into the same problem again.

I’ve tried to fully commit to this app. I have it on my iPhone, PC laptop, and wife’s iPhone. You give it access to practically all of your financial information. If they have a bad security breach, you could be bankrupted. And, there’s a feature on the Windows PC app to change all past transaction categories for a company all at once that is broken and has been broken for half a year that doesn’t seem to have a fix in sight. The feature isn’t even available on the iPhone app. Therefore, you have to go through each past transaction individually and change the incorrect default transaction category, which is more often wrong than right, one by one if you want to see your spending history, so that you can create a realistic budget. This is taking me hours and hours just to go back through transactions to the beginning of the year, and I should probably do it to at least this time last year to get a good picture of what I should be budgeting for now. Not impressed overall.

When Intuit deprecated Mint, we were forced to seek a viable alternative. For nearly 1 year none existed. Until now. Quicken has filled the market void with Simplifi, and it’s fantastic. It possesses all of the functions we require to manage our family finances. I highly recommend it.

It has a learning curve but now I can navigate with ease. I love checking my reports and making sure everything is tracked in the right category. Seriously I spend too much time on this app because I find it fun.

This was the most useless app. Half of the store cards I have weren’t even an option to add on there. I connected with customer service and they said I would just have to manually add them and update them every month. I wanted an app that would automatically do it, I already had app that is FREE that I manually added them in. Useless.

I have been having difficulty connecting my primary accounts and they really could not give an estimate on when it would be resolved.

You CAN NOT cancel your subscription/trial in the app or on Quickens website. You MUST CALL between 9-5, M-F, and spend 10 minutes of your day playing phone tag who don’t want to just take “no” for an answer. This is predatory and particularly insidious as it is a BUDGETING APP.

This is an an okay app but has no support for Coinbase, or crypto in general. Probably not a concern for most folks but if you do use Coinbase it’s kind of a pain in the neck.

They do not offer a free trial so you need to pay before even getting to try and set up the app. Then when I tried to sign in to my regional bank the app gives an authentication error. I chatted with their CSR on the app and was told that my bank currently stopped allowing links to this app. When I asked for a refund I was told I had to deal with Apple to try and get the refund. We shall see if I get money back. They really need to allow a free trial so people do not have to deal with this!

I transferred my data to Quicken and the numbers in my accounts are not correct. The app itself now refuses to open without crashing. The version on Safari (non app) is not optimized for browser and not usable.

You need to buy it for a year before you can test anything. Most of these applications don’t work with EU banks, so I don’t wish to risk it and perhaps pay for nothing.

Great app. I’ve tried several and this one has some awesome features and seems relatively easy to use … BUT I REALLY need to be able to mark recurring bills as paid since I pay them through multiple different methods and need to be able to see their paid in one easy location! This is causing me huge stress … otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

I bought Simplifi 9 months ago when I learned Mint was sunsetting. It’s well worth the cost - the bank connections are reliable, and the cash flow forecasting is a helpful tool (and the primary reason I chose Simplifi). Category tracking is easy for tax time. I also like how Simplifi handles multiple users - my husband and I each have our own log-ins to the “shared” finance space so we can be on the same page with our spending and investing. I’ve had some challenges with duplicate accounts with Fidelity, but that may be a problem on Fidelity’s end. All in all, a great product.

Slow, buggy, complex and unintuitive UI, show all my investment as transactions which clutters the views. Simply not useful. I have had it for several months and do not find it as half useful as Mint.

I left Mint like a lot of people in late 2023 and started testing Simplifi as its drop in replacement. Over the last 8 months of daily use it fills all of the monitoring needs I have. Sometimes FI connections can be spotty, not a Simplifi only problem, and currently no support for Apple Card account or Zillow real estate estimates, but those are the only real dings. The transaction search/tagging model and various report graphics are significant improvements that I’ve unexpectedly enjoyed. Sure you pay a sub, but it’s worth it to see every account at once. And hopefully it will prevent it from being killed like Mint was as not profitable.

Simplifi stopped connecting to my bank three weeks ago. The “help” bots keep telling me “the amazing team is on it” but clearly they are not. When I try the community resource I am “denied permission” to that part of the site. So you pay up front for a year of service and it stops after a couple months and too bad no refund for you even though it has bricked.

10 minutes in and it’s already rendered useless and super frustrating. What good is paying for something that takes so many tries to synch? I see some people said it took weeks to months of trying. I will be looking for a refund if it won’t synch in a day or two. This was supposed to relieve stress, and instead it’s CREATING it.

We’ve used this for two years now, having switched from YNAB. Simplifi is much easier to use for tracking expenses and has better reporting.

They don’t have a free trial period, which I assume is because plenty of potential customers would not pay after finding out the limitations of this app. There are multiple major banks that they do not support, which they don’t disclose on their website. When I reached out to customer support because my retirement accounts were giving me error messages, they said that they have no ETA for when it will be fixed. Simplifi would not put my subscription on hold until the error is fixed, and they would not give me a refund.

Quicken seemed like a good alternative to Mint, but even after paying through he nose for the whole year the app is buggy, often crashes, the online portal doesn’t have functional login, and the budget tracking graphics are hard to follow. Would not recommend.
