Quicken Classic (Win) reviews

The mobile app is unusable. It automatically does a full sync of all of your accounts when you open it and then never completes that sync. If there are any 2FA account logins they fail. If there's any kind of hiccup on the desktop app your accounts disappear from the Moble app because they are no longer synced. There's no warning about this. Until you open up the Moble app and realize you only have one account syncing. If you're on a device, best to use the web version because this is unusable.

This app is terribly sluggish, especially when updating accounts requiring two step verification. The desktop version is bad at that too, but at least it usually works. Two factor ID never seems to work on the phone app at all. All I get after waiting forever is just a “wheel of death”, and no updates of my accounts.

Not useful, especially on an iPhone unless you mainly do simple transactions.

Crashes at startup

I wont bother to describe the issue, but I contacted support and the agent clearly had no clue. He would not listen to my issue and kept telling he couldn’t help me. Very disappointing,

Cannot stress enough steer clear of this product. Just today they sent me a “come back” email with a $1 off a month discount from $8.99 to $7.99. Thought I’d see if they would honor that as they were not offering me anything for being a long time customer in the app. Nope, as soon as I got to the pay area, they were trying to charge me $8.99 per month. Also, since I let my membership expire, I constantly get these pop-ups on my desktop application (you won’t even be able to access the data in this application) making it annoying to use my own data without any of their paid features. Finally, they talk about a per month cost but not one plan is a per month plan. Personally, I think they should get sued for misleading terms. Try one of the other money management software applications. This one has gotten me used to doing whatever they want and jacking up the price.

I’ve used the Windows desktop version for 20 years and love it. About five years ago I got this app for my ipad because I travel a lot and wanted to be able to see my transaction history if a question came up about a payment, etc. I never posted anything in the app, just looked at history. About 2 or 3 times a year when reconciling my bank account the previous balance would be incorrect and I would have to create a dummy entry to reconcile. Similar thing with credit card accounts, a previously reconciled charge would disappear and I’d have to create a dummy transaction to balance. Quicken support was worthless! Googled it and found that other folks had the same issue. A glitch while syncing caused this. I deleted this app two years ago and no issues since.

Like the improved dark mode. More responsive overall. Budget UI needs improvement; it’s not possible to make a budget amount update on the fly in a month, as the keypad covers the majority of the iPhone screen now

Cannot get this app to open on iPhone 17 running 26.5.2

On both my iPad and my iPhone it crashes as soon as I try to start it. Utterly useless.

It seems that Quicken is often reactive to changes by financial institutions rather than anticipating changes. (E.g. two factor authentication). The result is an app that rarely works consistently. Given the number of years the app has been on the market, I would expect it can handle the basics of daily updates but that is hit or miss. There is also limited flexibility on how register data is displayed.

Please add the ability to sync the ledger of Fidelity Cash Management account from the desktop app to the mobile app as this is often used as a primary checking account.

This app has to be one of the most useless pathetic apps in development. It’s terrible as it does not sync correctly as I use the mobile settings in the desktop app. My desktop app is correct but when the data shows everything incorrect.

The latest “update” has disabled Easy Answer reports. You can no longer type in a payee under “how much did I pay to…?” Now every payee I have used in the past 40 years comes up (after loading for 5 minutes) and I have to spend 10 minutes scrolling ll the way down to the letter M, for example. What IDIOT thought it would be a good idea to disable this report?????

My desktop has crashed and am getting it repaired, so I’d like to be able to use the app to keep finances updated. This app is absolutely useless, I’ve refused to use it in the past as it’s cumbersome and doesn’t show accurate numbers. Now, just at least trying to input current transactions to keep it current, I can’t even open the app. It crashes before loads. As much as quicken charges for their software, and for as long as apps on phones have been a thing, you would think they’d actually have an app that works. Too much to ask for apparently - even one that inaccurately keeps records.

Good up but needs to be more streamlined and work more in real time not just a copy of the latest data from the desktop. I’m paying a premium for the desktop version that the app should update itself and not wait on the desktop. Most customers are on the go and use apps more often than sit in front of a computer these days.

I have used this app for several years and loved it for budgeting and setting up categories to track income and expenses. It worked flawlessly. Now, it never syncs correctly with my bank accounts. The balances it returns are absurd. Sometimes tens of thousands of dollars off. At first, I was able to correct the problem by signing out of it and signing back in. Then, I had to delete it and reinstall. Now, even those measures don't work. In addition, categories no longer sync correctly from my desk top to the mobile app. Many assigned categories on the desk top are changed to "adjustment" in the app when the two or synced. I renewed my subscription this year and deeply regret it. I will lose years of data by getting rid of it, but at this point I see no alternative. I am not a happy camper.

I experience frequent issues with Quicken and customer service is never helpful

Frequent connectivity issues. Almost daily, when refreshing accounts, the app activity icon spins forever. The app has to be terminated and restarted for it to work again. Good grief! Fix it already!! Also, something as simple as alphabetizing account names appears to be impossible for this company. They keep adding useless features but can’t fix the most simple problems. This has persisted for years. There are more! Terrible developers!

Quicken in iOS cannot be trusted - most of the numbers are incorrects. This is a problem from projecting balance in the future, while the current day numbers are giving an incorrect balance of account. Additionally, the connectors in Quicken are frequently having problems (especially incorrect values).

It’s a great tool, to keep the personal finances organized and to not loose the control.

I am currently using my iPad Pro as a “Mac Lite” setup (connected to a 27-inch monitor, desktop Magic Trackpad, and desktop Magic Keyboard). I know it will never replace my Mac, but it does a very good job handling a lot of the work I normally do on a Mac. It has been quite pleasant, actually. So far, everything has worked well—albeit with some adjustment—but Quicken, which I use quite regularly, falls well short. To call it a “companion” feels like an overstatement. It’s closer to a barely useful viewer than anything functional for real work. Any Quicken tasks I need to do will continue to be done on my Mac, and I will be deleting this app, as I have no intention of using it further and it’s simply taking up storage space.

My biggest reason that I still use quicken is the budget portion of the app, but it’s been broken for a month now. The only way for it to update the true amount is if I either log out and back in or go through the settings and select to resync the data. Cloud sync not working makes this and the desktop app worthless to myself.

It appears this app no longer works, as it will not open in my iPad.

Software is only as smart as the people who develop it. I’m using quicken and trying to reconcile my accounts and it keeps creating false transactions, deleting wrong transactions, and I have to keep going back to fix the problems and errors, which means that the software developers are intellectually challenged because they can’t build a stable version without errors. Shame on you. I’m going to use Excel instead

Budget balances remaining are not updating within the app when you add transactions also within the app. Have to go “reset” app data after each transaction for it to refresh the budget. Very annoying and broken functionality for weeks that support doesn’t even know about it able to assist with

I last reviewed this app in 2017 and gave it 2 stars and suggested some fixes to make it better. Well, those fixes have been made and the app is vastly better than it was back then. It’s still a bit clunky, but it has become a solid daily app for me

Hurts my eyes

This doesn’t sync well, does not save filters, or do anything really. Banks websites are better. I can’t believe this app even exists still. It’s embarrassing they have done nothing to improve it, ever.

Terrible. Paying for something that does not work at all. You need to replace your developers and hire folks that actually know what they’re doing

They love to add new features for more money and raise prices on the core product as it continues to degrade. A real head scratcher.

I haven’t been able to use the app for close to a month now. I assumed it was due to my phone updating and that quicken would catch up but it continues to not work. All I see is the blue title screen then the app crashed about 10s later.

I thought it was just me then I noticed I needed to update the app. Phone updated the app but it still crashes.

Credit card connection keeps disconnecting. Clicked “swipe to fix” and nothing happens. Clicked “re-authenticate” account and nothing happens. Account balances do not sync well with desktop. Cannot reconcile differences. This app sucks.

App gets stuck on opening blue screen, then quits on its own.

Tried opening for the first time in a long time. I just got a blue screen at the else.

Recent update 8.0.0 had me trying this again and for a short while it seemed to be working, at least the long-standing “mobile sync ruins memorized payee splits” might now be fixed, but when I found my IRA RMD with Fed and State withholdings got messed-up I deleted the app again. A travesty that Quicken claims this mobile app for use with my Quicken Classic for Windows, and I will never try it again unless or until an update explicitly states devs believe they have fixed it. It’s unacceptable that Mobile Sync corrupts our hard-won QDF files.

This app is broken. Will not open.

App will not load in iOS 26. I only get a blue screen with the logo but doesn’t proceed any further. Until they fix this issue, this app doesn’t work and probably need to stick to the computer version. Been using quicken for years and the mobile app was a nice addition but this is a real annoyance

I usually have no issues with this app but now after the update I can’t update my accounts in the app. My desktop works fine and I even tried resetting the cloud, but this app is now broken for me. Using latest version of IOS on iPhone 13.

I was trying to open the app and it keeps closing, even after I restarted my iPad

I’d love to use this app on my phone, but I cannot get it to open. I’ve updated it, but it still just shows a splash screen then goes away

Since I updated my phone to new version, there is an issue with syncing cloud data. If I use desktop client only, it works the same. If I add a transaction on iPhone (with updated iOS 26), it won’t show on the desktop client. Moreover, when I attempt to sync desktop client with cloud, it says that my local copy is older and therefore(!!!) they will overwrite the cloud data. Why overwrite and not merge? It happened twice and I had to stop using the mobile app since it takes very long time to sync the desktop with the cloud when that issue happens. And on top of that, all the transactions I entered on mobile were a waste of time.

It’s never successfully synced with my desktop version. I really don’t see the point in this app. IF it worked as intended it’d very nice. Then i could use my ipad to do work on the road. Prove me wrong, Quicken??

I’m not sending your support an email. It’s broken. Just fix it and quit taking all these 1-star reviews.

UPDATE 2: I have used Quicken for many years and I would give 5 stars but it took months to get any kind of response even though I contacted them through various means. It was a simple fix and I am satisfied now. By looking at recent reviews it seems that perhaps they have finally got their customer support in gear. UPDATE: Still waiting for update to make this compatible with iOS 26 so I can update my iPhone. Opens with blue title screen and no options. When are you going to fix this? Waiting to upgrade my iPhone. I put iOS 26 on my iPad and Quicken no longer works on it.

No longer functioning

The app no longer will open on my iPhone. Have been trying for months, hoping it will get fixed soon. Don’t use the app that much except when traveling but now it is useless.

I understand it’s a companion app, but I just bought a brand new iPad Pro and was hoping to take care of all my quicken responsibilities on my iPad, instead of relying on the Mac app.

Now it just crashes

The quicken app apparently doesn’t work at all if one travels outside the US. If you have US accounts but travel, do NOT use this system management platform. The app will not open, including just to allow you to see your budget, finances, or manually add transactions, when the phone is physically outside the US. Setting a good VPN to the US doesn’t work either. Highly disappointing

I downloaded, linked my bank account, and started getting spam calls in less than 10 mins! They sold my info!

Used to be a great companion. Now App won’t even open anymore. Been that way for most of 2025. Tried deleting/redownloading. Nada.

Likely worst app. I used it for 3 years not realizing it is not cloud based. Had different numbers on laptop, desktop, phone. Connected with support who told me data come from a file on my desktop, not from cloud and if that file is lost my data are lost. In 2010 that may have been OK but not in 2025. Totally unacceptable. I switched to a truly cloudbased app and saw immediate improvements. Bye Bye old Quicken.

Despite repeated attempts to sync data between the app and the Cloud, the app 100% of the time failed to my data in the app. The app has been deleted from the phone.

This app works 10% of the time and it takes forever to update. Slow and clunky is not the way for 2025.

I am not able to open the Quicken app on my iPad.

this app does not update for some reason and when you log into the app, you get a blue quicken screen that times out after about 20 seconds and the app closes no matter how many times you reinstall the app it does the same thing. customer service is non expectant

I basically only use the app to upload transactions. What I want is a proper iPad app with full spreadsheet views. The M4 iPads are more than capable of running the full version of this software. Up to intuit to make it happen. Three starts because it works for syncing but you also need a computer to actually keep up with your finances.

The app is installed on my I phone but it doesn’t open

I can’t get the app to load on my iPhone SE +. It always returns to my phone’s home page.

Quicken Classic Mac users will find this to be a functional app. No real sync problems like the Windows users have. No data corruption. The initial setup takes a very long time to sync, so be very patient. This biggest issue though is the information presented in the app is minimal. I use it mainly for just looking up transactions and checking my spending on the graphs. I’m not using it for adding transactions on the fly. Minuses are: 1 No in depth analysis. 2 Investment accounts only download balances and no transactions. 3 Graphs therefore don’t allow investment transactions in totals, such as dividends and capital gains. 4 Reporting is archaic at best.

I use Quicken for Windows daily. Tried this app a few times but it’s a hit or miss situation. Several times it has totally messed up my Windows data to the point I have to restore and redo it. Not for me when it creates more work than help.

I get to a blue screen that says enter quicken passcode. There is no keyboard no field in which to enter a passcode therefore, I’m blocked from the app.

It seems to take a long time to sync. I’d like to write a review about its accuracy, performance, and how long I’ve been using it, but unfortunately, the app is still loading. I tried to use it over a year ago, and nothing seems to have changed. There needs to be some detailed progress indicator for the user while it’s “loading.”

Same issues with app sending duplicate entries to the computer and Quicken hasn’t bothered to do anything with it. They keep pushing their new subscription service but why would I pay for that when you can’t even maintain your old services.

This app needs to have the ability to add mileage entries and assign billable expenses to invoices, it’s basically useless for Business & Personal users beyond simply checking account balances At this point

Broken! Won’t open on iPhone

I tried this app when it came out several years ago and it was awful. Now trying it again it’s still complete junk. Syncing doesn’t work, accounts that don’t sync give an option to “fix it” but this button does absolutely nothing, and entering transactions is just painful. Using the latest OS and all that jazz. This app is crapp.

Spent a day setting up Quicken Classic on my PC — most of my credit card accounts could not be synced. Wasted $60+ on this software. Yesterday purchased Quicken Simplifi and all accounts can be synced.

Can’t open the app. It crashes every time I try to open it. There is no update available.

My device is up-to-date as far as software updates go, and I have turned my phone off and back on, reset it in every way I know possible in this app just keeps crashing over and over. Very disappointing.

Crashes when launching, so 0 access to my data.

I’ve never had this companion app match the desktop’s accounts and balances. I’ve deleted and reinstalled it be always the same issue. I’ve been a quicken user since the MS DOS days so I’ve transferred data across multiple generations. The desktop apps have been good even through the lean MacOS support years. I keep hoping I open the mobile app and it eventually works. Less hopeful by the day.

I downloaded this app a while ago and it has never worked for me. It asks me to change my password over and over again but even with that it often does not load. If it does load, there is no information. It is no good! I have to go to my laptop but have mo mobility on my phone.

This is not the quicken of old. 40% of my accounts would not sync correctly and quicken blames the institutions and takes zero responsibility for a service that doesn’t work as it should. Support is outsourced (read: globally sourced) and is ineffective about doing anything to fix issues. What a waste of a yearly sub, never again!

It crashes every time.

It’s been days now, I’ve deleted the app several times and synced my laptop to my phone several times but the transactions don’t load into my categories. It just looks like I have no income or purchases. If it doesn’t fix, I’m going to search for another budgeting app. I’ve had numerous problems with Quicken since purchasing almost 2 years ago. I’m out of patience. They don’t seem to care about improving things.

Hard to use this when it hangs on the blue screen at the beginning and never opens on my iPhone16 Pro running iOS 18.6.

Still crashes on open

Great when it works. Have to remove and reinstall the app almost daily to get it to work. Crazy!

I don’t think they keep up with the iOS/iPad app. Tried to launch it today and it crashes after a few seconds every time I launch. I’m a big fan of Quicken on my Mac but the mobile app still needs work, even after several years.

Even after updating Quicken mobile app in App Store my file does not complete a upload on my iPhone 8. Things work OK on my iPad 8 with IOS 18.

Require improvement: can you please modify it such that once an account is marked reconciled you are required to complete an extra validation before modify any content that predates the date of reconciliation on that account. L

Quicken app won’t open even after phone reset. Very unhappy!

App shows a blue screen with Quicken Classic on it, then crashes. Can’t run at all.

Stopped using this app several years ago because it really sucked. Decided to give it another try. I want to use it when I travel to enter CC charges and avoid bringing my laptop. The good news (so far) is that when I enter the transactions for my Apple Card, it correctly imports them into the desktop app. Note that this probably works because the desktop app online update does not download transactions for Apple. I have another card, where Quicken does download txs from the bank; and the txs I entered manually ended up appearing twice in the mobile app. Another issue is that I have a card where the balance is off by $120. Went all the way back to the beginning (account was opened after 1/1/2022, which is how far back Q Mobile goes) where it shows the initial balance, and was off there by $120. Have no idea where that extra $120 came from and there seems to be no way to correct it. Also, setting up in Q desktop is a nightmare. It takes forever to sync the cloud (> 2 hours). I kept killing it off because I thought it was hung. Finally, just let it go and it completed. One issue I had when I used the app before occurred if I had split transactions where a portion went from an account synced to the cloud to a different account that was not synced ( eg, paying mortgage from checking). After doing an online update on the desktop app, Quicken would break that link. And, as I recall it was very difficult to fix because you could not delete the tx in the mortgage because Quicken thought it was still “linked”. Hopefully this is fixed, but don’t know yet.

Horrible, horrible app. No real visibility to your accounts because of cryptic format. App was updated June 2025 and crashes after loading now. That’s great, as it gives me no excuse not to delete this piece of trash from my phone. Quicken, you’re a rip off for what you charge per year.

When selecting a payee from the list of payees, it only shows the subcategory of the payee, but we need to see both the category and the subcategory.

Just like everyone else is reporting, this app will not load. It launches to a blue screen then….crash.

I have used this app for many years as it is the quickest way to scan my receipts in for business purposes. My accounts accounts always have connection errors I click ‘fix it’ and nothing ever happens. I don’t know where they get the ultimate balances from, but I wish I had as much money in the bank as Quicken says I have. Ha. I gave it three stars because at least it’s functional for the basics of scanning and my receipts, adding a memo, and adding a category. I haven’t had any issues with Quicken losing the copies of my scanned receipts since I started manually creating a backup every time I use the app on my PC.

I deleted it after a week of use of my mobile. Had to keep logging with a password that it would not save in the phone to make it easier. Does not sync with a few accounts. Keeps asking me for another password whenever it syncs. A couple accounts require additional security, and instead of allowing an account to skip automatic syncing it tries it anyway. I just found the app annoying and not needed.

Unfortunately won’t even open on my 9th gen iPad software 18.3.2. Disappointing to say the least.

I travel for a living, so I would like to be able to use the app to track my finances while I’m on the road. Being able to input expenses into the app while I’m on the road and have them sync up to my home computer is important to me. But that seems to be aware of this app falls short. When I put receipts into the app, they do not sync to my desktop or my laptop at home when I return from traveling.

I cannot sync with my bank. Quicken says bank,bank says quicken after much back and forth. My bank delved deeper and said quicken told them it was other banks as well, and that quickens programmers were working on it. I waited a few days called quicken back and they basically said Huh. My bank is a local bank and I believe them.

This used to open on my phone. Now, no, I rebooted. Nice idea though.

This is only version 7.6 my computer has version R62.16 how come I can’t get updates on this app

I’m using iOS 18.4.1 and the app won’t progress beyond the Quicken Classic Blue screen. It’s the new blue screen of death. The app hasn’t been updated in months. I pay for quicken and this is useless. Intuit y’all need to do better. At this point you’re losing customers.

I was waiting and hoping it would get fixed with the updates but the income/bill reminders do not sync correctly in the app. Until fixed data is inaccurate and unreliable.

Garbage. Brought it to keep track of my bills. Ive yet to receive a single alert on my phone notifying me about an upcoming bill. Ive also failed to pay on time because app lost connectivity with the accounts, therefore not notifying me its due, which seems to be pretty frequent.

iPhone 13 Pro-Max, iOS 18.4.1, the app doesn’t even progress past the loading screen even after multiple phone restarts. As a subscription paying customer, this is unacceptable.

2025-04-16: Using iPadOS 17.7.5 on iPad Pro 10.5. The app crashes while on the blue splash screen. It never opens.

I updated the app to this version and it crashes before fully opening. I see a blue screen that says, “Quicken Classic” for about 30 seconds, then it closes to the folder I opened it from.

Why won’t the app open? Getting very frustrated🤬

I’ve tried this app a few times over the years and a few things happen after using it, sometimes right away and sometimes after a month or so. First, duplicate entries show up. Second, entered categories and tags do not match online vs desktop. Third, I constantly have to reconnect my accounts for the online and desktop versions when syncing. All of this gets old and makes it not worth the effort.

See how easy it is to read all caps when the contrast color is so stark? (You either have a dark gray background and white text or the reverse). I shouldn’t have to strain my eyes to use the app. It is lazy development. The font is too small - wasted empty space and why is the color “barely there gray”? People even complain about the font color and sizing on the desktop app!! How much more of a problem this creates on a phone!

I was looking to find an app to track spending, budget, etc. It looks like this is a companion app and can’t be used as a stand alone. If so, this should have been disclosed before requiring purchase.

I have been a long term user of Quicken who is fed up with the program not working. It appears Quicken does not understand its own program, what it can do or how to fix it if it doesn’t work. I spent many hours (yes, hours) on the phone with the help desk, re-installing, reconnecting, moving the file to new locations on my mac etc… but no one solved my issue which has been ongoing for months. I would not recommend this app or the desktop version unless you want to spend all of your spare time trying to get the bugs out of the system you paid for….don’t expect it to do what it say.

Does not even come close to being useful, like anti-useful. The numbers in the app are wildly different than what’s in the desktop app. Like two different accounts or something.

Using iOS 18.3.2 on iPad and the app won’t open

On iPhone 16 pro suddenly app no longer opens.

I was having the app crashing issue, but I just deleted the app, redownloaded, and signed back in. All is well now!

Ever since Quicken rolled out the 7.6.0 companion app upgrade, I’ve had zero issues. I’ve been using it for years and on a regular basis, my account balances would start to mismatch online balances. This seem to be caused by the companion app not correctly including transactions into the balance. When they rolled out 7.6.0 a month ago (February 2025), this issue disappeared, and my Quicken totals always match online balances. Because of this, I rarely need to use the desktop app, unless I want more sophisticated reports . And that would be one great addition: the ability to import useful user created reports from the desktop version. For me, this is now a five star app that I use most days without any issue. Performance is quite snappy on my iPhone 16 and my iPad Air 13 inch. Keep up the good work, Quicken team

I haven’t opened the app for some time. It opens fine for me, but some accounts are not connecting. Swiping to fix does absolutely nothing. Going into settings and trying to reauthenticate also does nothing.

I like the Mac version of Quicken. But this app is junk. It crashes immediately upon opening. I’ve never gotten it to sync properly when it WAS working — changes I made in this iOS app didn’t sync to my Mac. Don’t waste your time unless you love frustration.

Since the last update the app freezes on the opening screen and then closes.

Many complaints, but the most recent is quick classic doesn’t show up at all on either my iPad or my iPhone. You tap on it and it just says Quicken Classic for about a minute and then goes back to your desktop.

The app was working great until 5 or 6 days ago. My software is up to date but the app won’t open. It gives me a blue Quicken screen and then throws me off without opening. I have tried to reinstall it.

The app has big issues crashing or simply not opening at all. I am supposed to be helping my husband categorize our transactions to keep our budget on track. It’s had to do that when half the time the app won’t open

Can take photos of receipts and add to transactions anymore. App just freezes up after I add a few. Click save and get the spinning wheel forever. Please fix this. My subscription to quicken is useless to me with this feature

Used to work pretty well, now won’t even start, just crashes and closes. I have iPhone with latest update. This app needs a big fix asap.

I’ve had Quicken for over a year now and have not been able to use the app much because it always seems to have issues. The idea is great but the execution is poor. Hopefully they can fix this one day

Please re do it from the ground up in SwiftUI!! Currently clearly lazily made and unpleasant to use and that would solve the UX and make it stack up to the Mac app.

Clunky and doesn’t sync properly. When I add a transaction category to a transaction on the desktop app, that change doesn’t sync to the iPhone app. Why Quicken doesn’t make this app even nearly reflect the desktop app is beyond me.

App will not load and hasn’t loaded for days.

Ever since this update was processed, Quicken will not open.

The app was useful until today. I just updated to the new version with iOS 18.3. Now the app will not launch despite re-booting the iPhone.

Absolutely unreal that a program I pay good money for (on a high end Windows PC) can be so glitchy, and this app that supposedly pairs with it is COMPLETELY unacceptable. It is useless. It's 2025 people, trash apps are mostly a thing of the past. Let alone for PAID products. So of my nearly 10 accounts that are saved on the PC, and properly synced, only 2 show up on the app. TWO OUT OF TEN. Bravo, team. Instead of this cash grab for mediocrity, please wipe this app and give me something of value that actually works. At this point, I will not re-subscribe after my first year is up.

I love the Mac desktop version of Quicken and I’ve used it for over 35 years. But the iPhone version…well, it’s never been as useful but now, with the latest version 7.6, it just doesn’t work at all on an iPhone 15 pro max running iOS 18.3. I click on it, get a blue screen that says Quicken Classic. Then it crashes. Rarely I get a screen that shows balances (not up to date), then it crashes. I’ve restarted, reinstalled, and it keeps crashing. Please, fix this app!!

This companion app lately has a nasty bug! Otherwise it was great! This bug was noticed about six to twelve months ago & continues to be a problem! — It presents itself whenever I make a register (account) correction on my desktop w/ Quicken Classic to a (previously mobile synchronized) entry — then the following mobile sync results in a much longer than usual timeframe to complete and adds an additional set of all of my Quicken accounts on my iPhone XR — All values in all accounts are then added to show double the actual amount of each account. — Also, if another Pre-Synced, ‘Desktop Account Entry’ is changed, the next mobile sync will result in triplicating all your mobile accounts, and added automatically to give you triple times of everything you got, [Including Your Net Worth]! That’s one way to get RICH FAST!!!

Do you miss opening and app and trying to do anything on it only to have it take 1 minute between button pressing and execution? Then this is the app for you! It brings back all the laggy nostalgia of the orginal App Store. Who doesn’t like taking 15 minutes to go through 10 transactions because the app is so slow. If you’re looking to get your heart rate up, this app will accomplish that.

Trying to navigate my transactions is beyond painful. You click on one thing and maybe 2-3 minutes later it responds… maybe

ios app started requiring the password be re-entered every few days. deleted, reinstalled; now it requires password be enteted every single time I open the app, whether I last used it a day ago, an hour ago, or five minutes ago. nonsense. now permanently deleted, i will just use excel; unlike quicken, excel can at least do basic math, without requiring me to enter my password a dozen times a day.

I have used this app for years and a few months ago the majority of my synced data is not showing up in the mobile app. I have tried many things to identify and fix to no avail. I will delete this app until they can fix it

Weak at best on the investment side of things. I mean this is personal financial software yes? Keeping mobile app synched with desktop app is wretched. Should happen almost immediately not days later or requiring a manual sync. Really? I wish there was a good alternative but that’s probably why the mobile app can be way less than stellar and still sell…

Face ID does not work on iOS.

I deleted app and reinstalled multiple times. Still it hangs when doing a sync Update 6/2/24: new version pushed 5 days ago but application still hangs. Unusable.

Open the app, login. And it just hangs. Multiple devices fail. Maybe it’s specific to my data set…I am using Mac. But it doesn’t work at all, and never returns a useful error.

When I open the app, it sits there doing some thing literally forever and never gets to any screen. I have been using Quicken for years. Maybe my data set is large? I can’t believe professional developers didn’t optimize for that situation.

The lack of multi-currency support in the mobile companion apps renders them useless to me.

Desktop app only. Don’t even think about using this as companion.

If you've wondered whatever happened to Quicken, this app is the answer: for some reason Quicken seems determined to limit its customer base to people who sit at a desk in front of a desktop all day. The app adds no real mobile functionality. It's still impossible to really track finances without regularly using the desktop program. Since that's no longer how most people work, the company is in a death spiral. If you don't have a history of Quicken data, look elsewhere for finance management. And if you do, don't expect this app to make a difference.

This app is supposed to be able to scan your receipts, and synch with Quicken, uploading your receipt images and creating transactions from them, attaching an image to the transaction, but it doesn’t work between an iPhone and use a PC, with the windows version of Quicken. Apple says not their problem, Quicken says it should work, just reload the Quicken app. That’s it, no more help, no suggestions, just Apple saying call Quicken, and Quicken saying call Apple or Microsoft. Just know IF you ever have an issue, there is ZERO support from Quicken for this app. It either works, or it don’t.

There are many things on this app that you cannot do that I think you should be able to perform. Instead you have to perform certain actions on a desktop or laptop then sync with the mobile app. This is unacceptable. Two activities that you can not do on the app are: You can not set up a list of scheduled transactions. You can not reconcile accounts. There may be more but I haven’t come across them yet. Completely worthless app.

The app is slow to respond. I have been using app for years now. With every update it gets worse.

Since the last update, the app no longer allows an attachment to be added to an entry. The menu comes up, but after selecting either Library or Camera, the app just goes back to the entry without allowing an a document to be selected.

Can’t believe it’s 2024 and Quicken still cant be bothered to have a full featured phone or tablet app, meaning every time I want to reconcile my accounts I have to use a desktop or laptop computer. How about we consider that 99.9% of humanity is almost exclusively operating on tablets or phones at this point and get with the times?

After an ENTIRE night of attempting to load, it just keep spinning the ball of death. Thinking there’s an APP glitch, I. reinstalled, but still the same thing.

Tried using App on my iPad and iPhone. Since last year, it wants me to fix all the accounts. I follow all the instructions, nothing. Worthless App.

Ever since the price increase I’ve experienced many problems. I can no longer swipe to mark reviewed, memorized transactions are forgetful, transactions get duplicated and transactions get applied to the wrong account. I spend more time fixed the errors this app introduces than managing finance. I stopped using it.

I can’t barely use this version, slow and locking up. Used to take 30 seconds to add transaction. Now 1-2 minutes. Please fix asap.

On both my phone and my partner’s, this app keeps freezing when we choose to view a report, “Spending by Category,” and then try to choose any option (such as last month, last three months.” We then have to close out and reboot the app. Can Intuit please correct this very obvious and important bug?

Thought I was getting an app that would mirror the data on my desktop Mac at home… no such luck! Got it to see my accounts (sort of) but they would NEVER update and they NEVER showed scheduled transactions nor did the app EVER show older transactions… a complete waste of time and effort. Very disappointing. Not sure what’s happened with this company but their product quality has certainly gone downhill.

Great and easy to use

Synced it with my account on the desktop, desktop works fine. This mobile app just keeps buffering and doesn’t load after I log in. Nothing else happens.

The companion app on iPad and iPhone has recently been so slow to load, update and review transactions that it’s not useful. MAC app works as usual. Please fix the companion app so I can use it again.

My app says 11 accounts to be fixed. Tried to correct first account and app doesn’t connect to the account. Tried another and again this app failed

Within the last few releases my mutual fund share prices are not getting updated when I launch the app. The only change in the portfolio value I see is reflected in the changes in my stock prices. The app has taken steps backwards.

Financial applications seem to be “a dime a dozen” these days. I can enter my transactions in dozens of applications or even use a spreadsheet, but that does me no good whatsoever without quality and flexible REPORTS! That is where the power of Quicken surpasses everything else I have tried. I don’t just want to accumulate data…I want it presented to me in a meaningful way that will help me to, in turn, make better financial decisions. I have tried dozens of different apps. A few are actually pretty decent…but NONE of them match Quicken’s powerful and customizable reporting! Now that we are in the age of portable devices, the Quicken Companion app is an amazing and very convenient tool to allow the Quicken user access to their data, the ability to view account balances, budgets and more…which is very handy away from the computer. It also makes remote transaction entry a breeze if you care to manually enter a transaction. Two things I would like to see improved however! First, I am visually impaired and looking at a bright white background is quickly very tiring to my eyes. I appreciate that dark mode has been added to the desktop version, but I would REALLY like to see it added to the iOS companion app as well! Second, I find the budget feature in the Mac version to be difficult to use. It’s not hard to create a budget, but trying to edit it and keep it current with life’s changes is pretty awkward. A “zero sum” budget system, such as in YNAB, is far easier to use on a daily basis. YNAB’s problem is that their reporting is extremely lackluster and makes using it as a financial planning application useless. However they do have the best budgeting features I have ever used. Right now I end up using both programs, but I would go “all in” in a heartbeat if one of these two apps would adapt the strengths of both of them in one app! I have tried the newer Quicken Simplifi as well. It functions very similarly to Quicken Classic and has a great dark mode on the mobile app…but, while much better than YNAB, it still doesn’t hold a candle to the reporting power of Quicken Classic!

Clunky, confusing, invasive, and pointless. Paid $70 just to realize you can’t even mark a bill as paid. I’m pretty good with technology but this is by far the most confusing budget app I’ve ever used. I try to delete things and it just spiral loads. Impossible to do anything on it. It doesn’t sync well with the desktop version. You have to force bill notifications on desktop to the app. It just makes no sense! If you’re looking for a replacement for prism this is not it!

I agree with essentially all of the recent reviews. This app has way too many problems to be considered a useful “companion” app. This is especially aggravating when you pay for a product and expect basic functionality. Disappointed.

The latest update causes the app to freeze after making one deposit. I delete the app and reinstall it and it will work for one deposit. On subsequent deposits, it just spins and will not complete. Deleting the app fixes it again for one deposit.

how can you add more currency in the classic app but not on iOS app? please add euro currency to the iOS app that's easy to do.

I like quicken classic. Very easy to use, provides great reports and helps to keep finances on track.

Citi Bank Costco won’t work with this app. It allows you to attempt to fix but takes you nowhere

I find it cumbersome. Adding a transaction, when I click on to enter a payee, a long checklist drops down which appears to be every payee that’s ever been used. The ones visible (before scrolling) are gibberish — numbers from downloaded transactions that had numbers in the payee field. The “Memo” field on the computer program populates the “Note” field on the app (and vice-versa) when syncing. While the computer program has a “Note” field which is different. Why? I find it’s easy get to get incorrect data entered, I found it impossible to go back and correct certain fields, on the app. Except to delete the transaction and start over. No problem going to the computer to edit the transaction. I’m going to continue to use a different method to collect data in the field.

I like being able to check my balances and purchases all in one app while out and about. I find this much easier than having to check each different bank app.

I've been a quicken customer from their inception in menlo park California. 30 plus year. They sold product and the program changed with new ownership. The customer service is terrible. They never respond to problems. I've contact them for over 3 years they are using wrong email. However they seem to be able to use correct one for renewal is subscription. There classic program for iPhone is horrible do not recommend.

Please add support for face ID. The mac OS version is perfect, the iphone IOS is not at the same bar. Wish to see: 1- Face ID support 2- Faster response 3- Automatic sync from the banks to the app ( for example every day at mid night) and between the app and then desktop version 4- Authenticator support if the desktop or the iphone app used outside familiar locations Thank you

The save button is covered by the swipe up bar. So no transactions can be saved. Rendered useless

I love having the app available to enter transactions. I use it primarily when traveling; keeping up to date has meant the end of herding a pile of receipts at the return from a trip and entering everything into my Mac in one huge “catch-up” session. I also value having my key accounts available from a single app. It’s great to have quick access to monitor what’s happening in all my important accounts.

I found this app useless. Some accounts missing, many with wrong balances, etc. This is the second time I have tried to use it only to be frustrated by the whole thing.

Frozen on “Enter Quicken Passcode”; however it does not give you a keyboard to do so. Btw, this prompt popped up right after I entered my password. Why both? Why not facial recognition? When I bought Quicken subscription it was because it was suppose to carryover my desktop info to my phone. It’s been 3+ years and it still doesn’t work, when are you going to fix it?

Press login and get a blank page. Uninstalled and reinstalled, same thing. Yes I have an older iPad but don’t offer it it won’t work.

The overall rating is proof that in now days nothing is real. It’s extremely hard to navigate, connection break all the time.

The app is fine but the budget feature doesn’t work. There is an option to choose Year to date but it still only shows the month. The budget is really the main reason I need the app to see where we are on spending. Because they don’t roll over your extra either income or expense each month in each category (like when you spend over or under your budget) the only way to kind of get a picture of how much you have available is through the year to Date feature but it doesn’t work in the app so that’s a bummer!!

I have been using Quicken for years but on a Mac Book. No longer have a laptop, the Ipad version has a lot to be desire. I wish they come out with a version similar to the desktop app. The Ipad version does not reconcile the transaction so I have to manually tap "ignore this instance" to keep the balance current.

Securities and mutual funds don’t show up at all. Only the cash balance shows up. The data in the cloud is fine and mirrors the desktop but not the mobile versions. Repeated phone calls to the help desk has been useless.

This app is useless to me. I had to leave town for an extended period of time as a result of a family illness. I did not have access to my desktop computer. As a result, there are very few things I can do on this app. Some of my accounts were not set to sync on my desktop so I can't do anything with them on the app. Really useless.

To sum up the sync between Mac desktop and iPad/iphone Awful doesn’t work, no clue why this issue is unabled to be fixed Should just eliminate the sync to save everyone time for trying to do something that is undo able .Quicken should be ashamed of their incompetence

The reason I moved to Quicken was that they offered a mobile app. I thought that this would be a good solution to keeping up with my home finances. I bought the subscription to both the Quicken app for Mac and the Quicken app for iPad. I am disappointed in both. The app for Mac has problems matching imported transactions from my bank. It will sometimes import a transaction and not recognize that the transaction has already been entered manually. I could understand this for some cases, but not for checks. The check number is the same in both cases but the algorithm for matching evidently is not very robust since it does not recognize this. The program should ask about matching transactions whenever they are downloaded. I am returning to my original checkbook app. It does not have a mobile app, but it is much more user friendly and at least I can keep up with my finances which is what a checkbook is supposed to help you do. I cannot recommend Quicken for either platform.

I purchased an annual subscription to Quicken Classic Premier for around $55. Upon opening the app I see “Select data file” which requires I use a desktop computer to upload said file in order to access it on my phone. I turn on the desktop and am met with a sign in prompt followed by it ignoring my request. There is no option to actually download quicken from the quicken classic prompt, as they want you to utilize the web cloud features. Finally after two hours I find and am downloading a desktop version. I don’t know if this will even help to resolve my problem. Why can’t I just sign in to my banks using my phone like literally every other budget app? Get with the times!

I paid for the app. Then you changed it and now you are saying it can not be used with only mobile? That’s crap.

So I updated Quicken on my computer running Ventura. Although it seems to work and although I’ve had a number of discussions with a tech at Quicken, I get these notes whenever I retrieve transactions that somethings not right and I am supposed to click on something and I put in my bank and my password and get it it still doesn’t work like it should. So I thought I’d try my phone and I see it has the new logo and I press the sign in and what do I get? A blank page. I thought maybe it’s because I have a 6+ phone which is pretty old but I looked it up on the Internet and a lot of people have had that problem with getting a blank page with signing in. So it’s very disappointing the only thing I use and Quicken is The register. I haven’t found another app like Quicken but if I ever do I’m leaving Quicken because I pay for it and It still isn’t it right. This kind of app with a lot of personal information in it should be available regardless of what your phone I have.

Quicken is best than other app!

The app is almost great. Seems to work pretty smoothly, shows me the information I want to see with customizable dashboards. I was really excited about it when I first started setting it up with quicken. But the budget actuals are still very incorrect. Transactions seem to correctly be there but the totals are not taking all transactions into account. It’s correct on the desktop. Unfortunately a budget companion app with even the best features and UI in the world is completely useless if the numbers are wrong. I can’t use the app to make financial decisions while away from my computer which should be the point of having the app. They might as well remove the budget feature if it is not reliable. I personally feel quicken should take such a debilitating bug more seriously (or if they are, maybe let the customers know that this is a known issue that’s being worked on). Similar bugs have been plaguing this app for several years, according to quicken forums. I worked with quicken customer support and they walked me through a single troubleshooting option (resetting cloud account) which did not work. They said nothing further could be attempted and directed me to post the issue on their forum and said they’d bring it up in meeting. So here’s hoping it will be fixed soon.

Love the concept but this app is so slow it’s painful!!! Even with a high speed broadband connection it takes forever for each data point entered.

You have to download the Quicken app on your computer and sync to the mobile and webapp. It’s just ok

The app is so frustrating that I’m close to giving up quicken entirely. The whole reason we use Quicken is to watch our spending each month. Since I’m the only one who uses desktop, the app is”supposed” to be the go-to for my spouse. Unfortunately, the Quicken app consistently has incorrect numbers compared to the desktop version in the budget section. The app is unable to process the rollover amount so it treats each month as a zero starting balance. I’m so frustrated and don’t have time in my life to fix these bugs. I think I may jump ship from Quicken. It’s starting to seem like more work than it’s worth to me. Update 8/18/23: Still solidly 1 star. Today I deleted the mobile app after desktop sync to cloud reverted my budget to the mobile app’s version. None of my problems with this app have been corrected. I am still considering leaving quicken altogether. It requires a large investment of time to set up and maintain yet final result unreliable and is riddled with bugs. Add on to that the software is painfully slow/unresponsive and it’s edging towards making budgeting and finance harder than it was without it.

I used quicken 2008 for many years and was very happy with it. I bought quicken 2012 but immediately uninstalled it and went back to using 2008. This year I bought quicken 2017 because my laptop is aging out and I will need to replace it. I regret every moment when using quicken 2017. When I sync I find it is duplicating transactions. Today it actually duplicated every transaction on a credit card onto another credit card so I am trying to delete them and get them to balance with the estatements. Now we are in 2023. I’m still using quicken over a lot of other finance programs out there. Syncing has greatly improved so I give that four stars. The program itself seems okay but is giving me a problem with auto entries. I have automatic withdrawals at my bank set up as auto payments in quicken. I also have our social security and pension as auto entries in quicken but they don’t stay that way. Quicken changes them back to manual entries all the time. HATE THAT. I looked in help and it gave me some song and dance about only having so many auto entries. WHY??? So that rates one star. And now that I have to rebuy the subscription every year, your IT team should resolve that issue. Then you will get a better rating.

I’m having to go back to desktop version. The app and online version will not show transfers between accounts consistently. It’s like they just disappear on one side. Having to force a reconciliation. Never had the issue on desktop. Very disappointed. It has caused be lots of hours of trying to figure out and I’m giving up.

The app still doesn't have the capability to sort transitions in the order entered. Why is this not an option?

‘Quick’ and easy to keep track of all your finances and financials in one safe app

I like the functionality of the app but I am disappointed with the screen layout. It is difficult to save a transaction and impossible to add a new bill reminder due to the layout on an iPhone. The “button” is in the same location as the gray bar at the bottom of the iPhone screen. I will have to go to my laptop and add the bill reminder at some future date.

Won’t synch on iPad or iPhone with desktop. Spinning circle forever. Customer service is a joke. I’m using Quicken for Mac. It’s great on my desktop, but this app is despicable. Completely useless when I am traveling. They should really be no excuse for this.

This app is so terrible. None of the budget categories values are even close to what is on my lap top quicken. Yes, I did do an update prior. I really wish there was something better than quicken for my personal finances.

They have what looks like a nice way to submit an error to get help with something that is broken in the app. Don’t let that fool you. The function is broken and you will have to retype the same issue over and over again without it getting submitted until you finally give up trying.

I had quicken loaded on my computer from a cd that I use to balance my checking account. After many years, I tried the online version with my phone. It will not sync properly. It did more harm than good so I never used it. I just called to cancel because it didn’t function for me. I was told if I cancel, I won’t be able to do anything or even type in it anymore. It will be read only! But “if you want to upgrade…”!?! Are you kidding me? I will find a different program to use after all of these years. Very disappointed.

I have the Mac version of Quicken. It appears any accounts I have at a brokerage firm (savings, trading, etc) come into Quicken as brokerage. I’d like my brokerage savings account to be a savings account in Quicken. The mobile app doesn’t sync brokerage accounts at all, even though they’re selected to sync on my Mac.

I’m a long time Quicken user. I use it on both the desktop and mobile app. I love the convenience of the mobile app, and it is pretty much what my wife uses exclusively, and then I sync it to the desktop. However, I can only give the app one star due to this one tragic flaw – it automatically memorizes every entry that has new data (such as category or memo). A simple Google search, as well as visiting the Quicken forums, will reveal how many long-term Quicken users and how many Quicken users in general, are frustrated by this feature and have asked for a solution; either don’t memorize the transactions, or give us the option on a per transaction basis, or provide a toggle that we can turn on to select or deselect this feature. All of these are simple solutions to achieve, and judging by the aforementioned forums, it’s hard to understand why quick and has an implement at this change. Once they do so, I will change my rating to five

Im able to see everything quickly from a glance at this app. Not as capable as the desktop application but still helpful if I just want to check my spending and income.

Does it Do A Few Of Things It’s Supposed to do? Yes. Does it Do it Reliably? No - Functionality is limited, and supposed features that are in the app, end-up not syncing to the main program on Desktop. ie. Changing the interval of a bill reminder in the app, ultimately reverts to the desktop software setting. - Additionally I’ve Found Quicken, to literally drop transactions in my account register. I can Balance My Account in the morning and happen to glance at it in the afternoon, with no actions/changes taken). Only to see the balance has changed, and can’t even tell you why? - In the Big Picture a Very Big And Capable Program, though it’s Reliably Unreliable and creates more work than it helps - it’s a “Net Negative” For me. Looking For Replacements As wee Speak

Outdated GUI Interface and no native iPad interface and support. This has been asked in the forums for years. Would love to see an updated GUI that can cache and sync. Tried of using other and switching apps that Quicken on the desktop can do, but Quicken Mobile cannot.

I love this app on my iPad. Syncs with my apple desktop quicken program very well. My only concern is I cannot get my external keyboard (LogitechCombo Touch) to work with the iPad version of quicken. EVERYTHING has to be entered via the onscreen keyboard. Very frustrating. Am I doing something wrong?

This app does nothing useful and should be removed and completely re-engineered

So I can’t use this app to get my full financial picture.

I started with the web application and decided to try the desktop version… all 3 year of my data was lost after logging into the desktop version… after 3+ hours on the phone, I learned from a support board, not quicken, that all my data was lost. So not only did they lose all my data, they were dishonest about the loss. On top of that, they refused to give me a refund and closed my account on the spot. I will never use another quicken product as long as I live and I will spend time convincing people never to use their products.

When I swipe down to update it gives me a number and when I swipe down again it gives me a different number for my investment portfolio, it’s 8pm so the market is closed in the US. Values by security are accurate but values by account are not. Assume they use the Agile method because no one there tested code before pushing it to production! They now charge $84/year for program updates but their mobile software is crap!

Useless if your spending account is a fidelity cash management account.

Seriously I hate this app. I cannot sign in for the life of me. Not with my password. Not with the scan. Useless.

Why can I no longer enter a payroll reminder via the app? This was working fine but there is no longer an enter function on these transactions. Why are loan accounts no longer supported? Both functions listed were working and now are NOT. PLEASE, stop taking functionality away! The mobile capability is becoming less and less useful!!!!! Thus my reduction from 5 to 2 stars!

It took a little bit of time to get up and going, but I love the versatility. I have the App on three different devices, and it seems to be working flawlessly.

My Quicken desktop app has all of my accounts syncing with the Quicken Cloud. I would expect the mobile app to be a window into this repository. However, the app seems to be some kind of hybrid tool that tries in part to update from the cloud, and part; to directly update accounts from financial institutions. This results in an app that doesn’t know what it wants to be and fails spectacularly at both, producing a completely useless app. For years that I have been using the desktop application, the mobile app has constantly been missing accounts, has random failures to update various accounts, and has never had accurate or useful information. Sadly, I can only rely on overall information through my desktop. When I need mobile access, I use the individual app for the desired institution I need details from.

The mobile app fails to accurately reflect data entered via the desktop app. Despite repeated attempts (deleting the app, reinstalling, etc) it refuses to pick up my wife’s 401k account, which the desktop app accurately recognizes. Functionality is weak. I could go on . . . .

I tried the app again after reading better reviews than I’d seen in a while. As much as I would love to use the app on my phone or tablet, I still don’t see the functionality that I would like to. I have two checking accounts and only one shows up when I sync. If I can’t access all of my accounts, then the platform is useless. I get that it’s a quicken, “companion”, but it’s time to create a useful version for the iPad.

Spent all weekend truing up my finances on the desktop app in Windows. Then I go to sync with mobile and nothing is showing up correctly. Budget amounts are missing, erasing/resetting cloud data doesn’t work. However, if I use the scan to sign in feature instead of logging in normally everything seems to work. These types of bugs shouldn’t be happening with a product that’s been around forever. How do you not have your database issues straightened out by now?

Unable to sync and keep multiple investment accounts updated correctly. Desktop version works great. I’ve had for 15+ yrs. Phone app is horrible. Hard to see why there is such a huge disconnect between the two. Deleted app from phone because it was worthless.

Jan 23, 2023 - It has happened again, I can no longer sign in, I just get a white screen, the login screen never appears. Deleted app several times was no help. Sept 2021, I have not tried to use Quicken mobile since last Aug 2020 since I could not signin on ipad4. I decided I would try again last week, so I downloaded app and guess what, it worked. I had worked with Quicken support last year and they were unable to resolve the sign in problem which was a crash on initionalization for my ipad4. Aug 8 2020, appears my ipad4 started crashing after updating to 10.3.4 on 7/29/2020. IPAD4 crashes after launch, do not get sign in screen. 10/10/17Updated to revision 14 on desktop, now on ipad4 the mobile app after new download, crashes after log in, can see erroneous quicken data on screen, then quicken mobile crashes. Tried multiple times. 10/12/17 re installed quicken 2016 with updates, same problem, crashes. 10/14/17 reverted back to rev12, reinstalled and upgraded to rev14, it is now working. 2015 A new iPad was required to solve this problem. Due to incompatiblility issues. Today 2/9 the app will not initialize, deleted and downloaded again. The app initialized although when I try to sign in it defaults back to the iPad home screen. I have attempted deleting and re-downloading app several times with no success. I cannot sign in. 2/27 Still unable to log in with ipad1, worked with quicken support, no success. Quicken sign in selection reverts back to home screen. Quicken mobile 2013 gets further along and allows me to visit additional pages, never jumps back to home screen. 2/28 Visited apple store, they did a complete reset of my Ipad1, downloaded mobile2014 AGAIN with no success, app reverts back to home screen when "sign in" selected. Tried a mini while I was there and it operates normal. I would have tried a ipad1, although none was available. Patiently waiting!!!!!!!! ps, iphone4, and ipad4 works as well. 3/8 Received another email reply from Quicken support, they wanted for me to do another sync and send log files. I replied back to them that this is not the problem. The problem is the mobile application CRASHES when selecting the "sign in" option. Crashes, Crashes, Crashes on Ipad1, iOS 5.1.1. Other devices I ve tried work other than 5.1.1 on ipad1. How many of you readers are having Crashes on mobile app??Please report so Quicken may understand the problem to address. 4/10 It's been two months now, app still crashes, I've tried many different options on my IPAD 1 in attempt to solve, nothing has worked. I did try turning off both wifi and 3G to further isolate where the problem lies. It made no difference so problem is internal. 2014 app still crashes. 2013 mobile DOES NOT crash. It tells me the mobile 2014 is not compatible with my I PAD 1. And to reiterate the app did work for about two weeks before 2/9. 5/2 Application still crashes 100 % of the time on IPAD1. Final solution was to abandon the IPAD 1, upgraded to IPAD4. Been nice if someone recommended the upgrade. Here it is July 29, 2020 and application crashes again, deleted and installed, rebooted IPAD4. Please fix. July 30/2020, contacted customer support, they were not able to resolve issue, escalated to tier3 with no help. Developers report no other reported complaints. IPAD4 crashes after selecting the quicken shortcut. Blue screen with QUICKEN logo then reverts to the desktop after a second or two. Ipad 4 still crashes at launch.

Useless this app is. Says my credentials aren't correct -- which is impossible because...they ARE correct. I acquiesced and changed my password anyway. Trying again, still no luck, still says my credentials are incorrect -- which is impossible, especially since I JUST changed things. Wow guys...

It’s easy to use but seems to lag on my iPad.

Do not waste your valuable money on this piece of work. I am in an endless do-loop of password resets with no account access.

Recent update to Quicken fixed a lot of bugs, keep up the great work!!! Bring back budgets to mobile devices and I'll update to 5 stars!!!

I just signed up for Quicken and it works great on my PC. However, I loaded on my I-Pad Pro and it will not allow me to log into my account…it keeps telling me that my signin is incorrect. Extremely frustrating. I have when through the “Having Trouble” three times and nothing works. Deleted the program and reloaded…does not work. Any help would be appreciated…if I cannot find a solution, I will have to cancel my account and find a program that will work across platforms.

I’m unable to access the app without syncing all of my accounts, which I don’t want to do.

My previous review I spoke about the mobile app using an old year, but that’s not the case. It’s using my current file and accounts, it’s just not using the correct file name, but one from over a year ago. How can I stop this or rename it? Thanks

Best user friendly, easy to use finance management software. Quicken mobile give a you a high-level or a detail view of where you are financially on a personal level. I would highly recommend this to all who wish to manage their accounts.

This has been an ongoing problem for two months. The mobile app will not synch with the desktop. I’ve re-installed app, sent files to Quicken and reached out but the problem persists.

Won’t sync to my desktop. The same error has been happening since at least June. FIX IT!

My main complaint is that it is worthless for certain types of income. It doesn’t have any ability designate cash inflows from investment accounts as income. These are automatically categorized as transfers, but for retirees, this is often a significant part of monthly income. It is impossible to categorize account transfers as anything but a transfer. Budgeting allows these to be treated as income, but the income reports ignore these entirely. There should be a config setting to categorize as some form of income. As it is now, the income vs expense data is completely worthless.

Well, after using Quicken on my PC for a couple of year, I decided it see if the reviews saying the iPadOS version works well were accurate. Um… no. After following the instructions to sync between my PC and iPad, my data file is totally hosed. When I try to restore a backup, Quick forces another sync, which fries the restored backup. I decided to give it one more try, and sat watching it spin for a half hour. I finally managed to kill the app, track down where to disable the sync feature, restore from backup, then re-enter my recent transactions. It’s been years. I can’t understand why Intuit just can’t get this right.

Easy to keep track of everything in my personal finance. All banking information downloaded directly into quicken you just have to confirm and categorize.

There is a bug that causes your account balances to be wildly off whenever you sync. The bug causes the “live opening balance” to be updated and there’s no way to fix it in the mobile app. This app is totally useless until this is fixed.

As already named, this is just a companion app with very limited features. For me, most annoying thing is seeing foreign currency accounts in US Dollars.

It is very frustrating to constantly have to sign into the app so often. Also still not very useful without a data connection when roaming

Love mobile Quicken when it works. However sync is broken and has been for a while, I frequently end up with duplicate transactions that I have to search and find when I sync transactions entered in mobile Quicken

There are several things that bothers me about the Quicken iPad app, but here are the main things: - The latest update totally broke account balancing. I had a checking account with $270.00 and it’s now showing -$12,056.72. The running balance on the transaction page is completely out of whack. It does not match the master account balance and it should. How was this tested? - It’s difficult to visually find the current date in the transactions. I like that Quicken posts future dated transactions because you need to see what’s coming up with your money, but there is no color coding or any big difference in the text to differentiate between past transactions and future dated transactions. It’s all just blurred together. How difficult would it be to change the colour of the transactions if the transaction date is greater than the current date? - You can choose how far into the future you want to see your transactions. 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, etc. With the latest change made, I’m seeing transactions for March 2023 even though I’ve selected next 30 days only and this is October 1, 2022 today. It doesn’t matter what I click. 30 days, 90 days, I still see transactions greater than 6 months from now showing up. Didn’t anyone test this after coding it? Whoever is doing the coding at Quicken is a very sloppy programmer. Probably should be fired and someone competent hired. It’s not fun and highly inappropriate to have your subscription financial program go screwy when you are depending on it to be accurate with your money. I subscribed for one year but I’ll not be paying for another subscription. It’s way too sloppy and absolutely NOT properly tested. Within seconds of downloading the new release I found several bugs. Within seconds!!! There’s no way this garbage should be hitting the production version of the software. Changes should be peer reviewed by other programmers and analysts and testing should be done using real customer-like data.

This mobile app has some of the worst user experience of any financial app on the market. It constantly asks you to re-login with a password, after you’ve enrolled FaceID or TouchID. The credentials should be stored. It constantly trashes the mobile data file, resulting in you having to re-download the entire data set, consuming bandwidth and making you wait minutes before it’s usable. And that’s on a fast broadband internet connection in the United States. These problems have persisted for years and there has been absolutely no progress.

I have been using Quicken for over 20 years. I love it very much. I can’t be without it. It helps me with the bank’s and all my investment. It is the best item I have ever bought. I have several properties and I can send out invoices and record payments. It also tells me has not paid. I LOVE MY QUICKEN

It’s September and no matter how often I “refresh data”, the app still thinks it’s February.

Used with Quicken for Mac, which is a subscription, the synchronization between Quicken for Mac and this app is abysmal! Constantly scheduled transactions that are “paid” in Quicken for Mac, show up as still due in this app! In addition, all customer service will do is tell you reset the data from Quicken for Mac, which does then properly synchronize the scheduled transactions, but then again they start becoming out of synchronization. The implication here that my subscription to Quicken for Mac should work with the mobile app, but alas no!

Installed and tried it for several weeks. Looked promising at first but then started to see duplicate entries and missing attachments when I went to my pc. Removing the duplicates and reattaching missing image scans to other transactions didn’t always work. Had to stop cloud synchronization to correct the issue which means this app won’t work then. Looking back at the last 100 reviews or so it barely average 2 starts so I don’t know how this app ever made it to 4.7. It’s a shame, would help me towards my goal of using my IPad Air (4th gen) to replace my desktop 100%. Update-latest issue causes tags to be dropped from transactions during synchronization between app/cloud/pc. Have to restore a good backup data file and add back in the missing transactions. Deleted app, to much time wasted.

Been with Quicken for a long time. Use MacOS and Windows versions as well. Constantly updating, fixes, and improvements. Essential App.

“Quicken” is literally the sloooooooooowest app I’ve ever used.

I find that their support is good if it’s small and routine, but if they’re any systematic issue it seems nearly impossible to get a fix. Even the support options through the App Store dump you onto a generic website.

This app HAS improved over the five - six years I have used it. Functionality has been added. It’s become quicker and easier to use. But it is still short of a satisfactory experience. I finally threw in the towel and uninstalled the app, which candidly makes my life more difficult (due to having to enter everything on the desktop version, which has its own set of bugs). Among the challenges on the mobile app are inability to enter a transfer, failure of split transactions being edited on the desktop app to sync to the cloud, and the clumsiness of three different ways to save a transaction on the mobile app, depending on whether it’s an original transaction, a revised transaction or a scheduled (reminder) transaction. However, over the past six plus weeks at least three transactions entered on either the mobile app or desktop app never synced to the other app and ultimately disappeared from Quicken altogether. I haven’t identified a pattern for the disappearances, but it’s also not my job to resolve Quicken bugs, particularly when I am paying $80 per year to use the service. It was this issue of disappearing transactions that caused me to uninstall the app from my iPhone. I have been a Quicken user for 30 years. Honestly, I would switch to another personal financial accounting service if I found one that is full functioned and reliable. I haven’t. It’s highly unlikely Quicken will ever be able to convince me to use this buggy mobile app ever again.

This app takes forever to sync unless you stay forever logged into app on your phone which I don’t want to do. It’s faster to find your laptop and open quicken than it is to wait for the mobile version to sync with the cloud. I tried all the tips from every forum. No luck. So I’m waiting til quicken fixes the problem. I did like the app, what little I got to experience of it.

Trying to figure out how to use the app is impossible, at the very least not worth the time. Don’t get Quicken for the app. I have had quicken for as long as it has been around— still needs plenty of improvement on Mac.

Almost never usable. Never syncs with desktop data.

Had been a quicken user for years and loved it, Mint came along and was able to pay bills, then bill pay capability was taken from Mint. Now billpay is back in Quicken BUT NOT in the app. So to use the billpay feature, available with premium plan only, I have to goto my desktop/laptop as the Quicken app only shows bill reminders, and no way to pay bills...which is lame! $80 year subscription to be tied to a desktop?! Will be unsubscribing shortly!!

The same one or two pages show up regardless of which menu item I select. “”Reports,” Profile,” “Help,” and “Settings” take me to the same page as “Dashboard” does. I’ve logged out and back in and still have the same issue.

Only loaded cash amounts from brokerage accounts. No stock data. Tried everything including deleting and reinstalling. Not worth the effort to keep trying.

All it has to do is synch with the desktop app and it can’t even do that right. One bank account has no deposits included at all so it’s showing a huge negative balance. The rest of the accounts haven’t been updated since who knows when. Quicken used to be a good product way back when. I don’t know why I still pay to use it.

I’ve used Quicken on my laptop and PC for over 20 years. I had hoped this app would allow me to transition to an on-the-go format however, it doesn’t allow me to do the same things. It keeps telling me my login credentials for my bank are incorrect (they are not, I even signed in on my PC to check them). I can’t download new transactions with this app. The navigation is clumsy and not user friendly. Very disappointed.

I used to do all the personal accounting in Quickbooks. It was hard to be on the road and input this data. Now the mobile app helps. That cannot be used for my big corporate accounting but does work for my two personal businesses and household expenses. Thank you Quicken!

It’s sad that Quicken has yet to include forecasting and useable register in the iPad app such as the program for Quicken Mac.

Even with a VPN, can’t login. It was super easy to buy the product, lol, but not to access it from Mexico.

Will not take in new data and will not sync. I have already talked with tech support, and we are back to the same problem. Very glitchy app.

I’ve complained about this issue for months. When you enter a reminder two transactions are created. Not only that, sometimes two future reminders are created. App hasn’t been updated for a month. Hire some more developers!

The app itself is usually good and you can get by using it to check your balances and also check any bills that you have put in your register so you can budget better. The biggest problem is with at least my credit union’s direct connect. It works fine on the PC but when I use the app on the phone it somehow causes the wrong password and generally I have to call my bank to unlock my account. I have approached Quicken on this and they do not know why it is doing that. The password that is saved for the direct connect is correct but somehow it is transmitting it incorrectly and I get an error message that the account needs to be fixed. When I get on my PC I am then locked out of my account and have to contact the credit union to reset my password and unlock the account. I don’t know if anybody else is having this issue or not.This only seems to be a problem using the mobile app. Even after it has synchronized, it will generally work for a day or two and then go back to it’s evil ways. Even after deleting and restoring any synchronized accounts, it will eventually tell me “Some accounts need attention.” This is when it tries to do an One Step Update which eventually locks out my bank accounts, especially on a weekend when the bank offices are closed!

Once I spent hours uploading pics of receipts and editing transactions, only to go to the windows version on my laptop and it had erased everything. Left it be for awhile, since I was about to break something in anger. When I came back today to have another go, all my accounts were missing. I just deleted it. Worthless piece of crap. I always like to check recent reviews to see if it was my own incompetence causing the issue. Nope. All the recent reviews have been abysmal. No response from developer either. *insert slow sarcastic clap* High five on the headaches you have given to a multitude of your customers.

I’ve had Quicken for about 10 months. From the beginning I’ve noticed there are inconsistencies when syncing between the iOS app to my iMac desktop app. The main issue is that any changes you make to a downloaded transaction on the iOS app version don’t consistently sync to the desktop version. Sometimes some changes sync but other do not, on occasion it works. I thought after the recent update they fixed the issue, but no - still happening. I called tech support they had me reset all sorts of things to the point that I felt I was starting over - that took hours of my time to re-enter bank info etc… but still did not fix the issue. I was recently traveling and away from my desktop so I kept updating the iOS app (on iPad Pro & iPhone) and it looked like any changes I made were showing up correctly between both of my iOS devices, meaning sync was working - but once I got home to my iMac and opened the desktop app, nearly every single data entry change (a Travel tag I added, category changes I made to the various transactions) all got reset to default downloaded transactions from the banks (credit cards etc..). This keeps happening and makes Quicken a disappointing app - otherwise I would be much happier with it overall. The other issue is any investment bank transactions will not show up on the iOS app unless you have recently synced the desktop app - so if you sell a stock while away from your desktop, it will not show that on the iOS app - not until you are back at your iMac and have synced the desktop app.

This app is really not good. I’ve tried to use it but there are numerous glitches in it. It also doesn’t sync properly. I saw many others say it was much better than previous versions. I can’t imagine how bad those must have been. This version is still inaccurate, slow, and glitchy. If you like accuracy (I’m guessing that’s why many use Quicken!), then best not to waste your time with this app. You will only end up frustrated. But if you use it and have lots of data inputs/accounts/investments/etc.), know it is directional at best to tell you generally where your finances are. You will end going back to your main file anyway.

This app lacks clear planning features for the Mac versions. I contacted customer support and asked them how they propose I plan for big expenses. They seem to say they don’t have the technology to offer it or something and when I tell them that is not true because other apps have solutions for this…. the representative I spoke to got defensive. They also seem to be unwilling to try to keep customers by offering solutions. I’m not sure if this is because they don’t know their product. Or if it is because they do not care. This makes it worse. The whole of the experience was disappointing and the customer service experience came off as rude.

I use and rely on this app everyday, but in recent month’s its become useless. The daily running balances are often incorrect and are showing greater than the online balance. The only way to fix this is to sync it with the PC which is very inconvenient when your on the go! I have given feedback multiple times without reply or fix.

Junk … pure junk … wasted hours trying to sync all my accounts to no avail….removing immediately …

I purchased Quicken hoping it would get things balanced for budget and bill pay. Would not work found out no longer owned by intuit but from Schwab. Been a disaster since I installed it. No longer using it.

I have no idea why this app remains so broken - log in doesn’t recognize Face ID and the iOS app refers me to Windows. The numbers in account balances when synced appear to be a functional random number generator, perhaps I’ll figure out the codes. I keep hoping for some attention as the Mac Desktop version is functional, but this app isn’t functional or lends any confidence to financial accuracy.

I’m really stunned. I used quicken many years ago for checking. Thought it was quality. I recently repurchased it primarily to monitor stock investment transactions, and saw that I could categorize my expenditures as well. I thought that was useful. I primarily use an iPad so I thought it was great that there was a companion app. But really that’s all it really is a companion. You can do very little on it. At first it worked pretty minimally, but after a few uses I realized that every now and then data (like categories) just up and disappears. They tell you to ‘reset the cloud’ but really? And quicken wants you to actually buy support for something you paid for that clearly has bugs. To add to the misery my bank states that they do export stock cost data to quicken. Quicken states that my bank does not. My bank is one of the largest in the east so I find that pretty suspicious. Without the cost data, pretty much useless to me as well. I guess if you only use a desktop and just need an app to tell you your account totals- this might work for you. But my bank app pretty much does that already.

Disaster. I don’t usually use the mobile app but thought I’d put it on my iPad before a meeting with financial planner in case I needed to look anything up. I didn’t do a backup first — didn’t even think about it since enabling a mobile app should affect the data, right? Well, after doing the dance and syncing everything the mobile app said there were no budgets (there are budgets that I’ve spent hours creating and refining). So I figured they didn’t sync correctly, went to my desktop app which also said there were no budgets, would I like to create some? What? All my budgets (for years past as well) were gone! I had a 2-day old backup, restored it, backed it up this time, and tried again. The budgets were there, but no amount of syncing would get them to the mobile app. I uninstalled and re-installed mobile app; nothing. Finally went to the settings and found a way to reset the cloud data, but that didn’t help. Finally turned mobile off and back on again and now it looks good. During all that hassle I got tired of entering my userid/pwd so I tried the scan to authenticate option. I go to my desktop app and see the scan code displayed, and aim my iPad at it. Nothing. I zoom in and out. Nothing. I look for a button to push, nothing. Scan to enter doesn’t work. I go back to entering my userid/pwd. After everything seems to be working I want to make entry into the mobile app secure but easy so I go to settings and enable TouchID for the app. To make sure it works I force remove the app from memory and open it again. It asks for TouchID and I oblige using the same finger I use for TouchID for everything else. It doesn’t open. I try a different finger I use when it’s in portrait mode. Nothing. The app is now useless as I cannot get into it; it has no “enter userid/pwd” option on the TouchID screen. So I guess I have to uninstall/reinstall again and hope for the best. Is this app tested at all before release?

How is this a leading personal finance product? Mobile app not very useful and desktop version that I’m forced to use looks like it’s from 10 years ago. Does not sync properly with multiple of my accounts including Charles Schwab, Chase, Citi. Have wasted a ridiculous amount of time trying to get this product to work properly, just awful.

My initial impression of this app was good. I could categorize transactions without using the desktop. After using this for several weeks the syncing wasn’t working. Mutual funds I had sold were still appearing, and brokerage account balances were incorrect. I found a muti-step process to fix this but it didn’t work. I don’t have time to debug bad code so I deleted the app.

I am very disappointed. Quicken app sync somehow causes my account balance to off and certain transactions are corrupted after syncing.

I have to use the desktop version to see my balance forecast in the calendar tool. I only use the app to make sure a bill was paid and check transaction amounts. The syncing function is useful but the main purpose of Quicken for me is the forecasting which the app doesn’t have.

Until they have a stand-alone Quicken app for iPad, I will not go back to using Quicken. When I sold my last laptop, I vowed to only use my iPad and iPhone for all my monetary affairs. I had to create my own spreadsheets using a different app which is not very efficient and pretty clumsy. I sincerely hope Quicken will figure out the value of a stand-alone app for iPad (maybe iPhone too) owners without a PC because I had many good years of happy Quicken accounting on the old tabletop computer and also my former laptop.

This app is great for on the go banking but boy is the transferring between accounts buggy. When I transfer from one to the other I get double deposits, invisible transactions or subtractions from both sides, etc. Between using the desktop and mobile app it gets even buggier. Please fix!

Mobile app used to work well, but now as we approach tax season, transactions have stopped syncing. There’s no stated error, but the transactions don’t update across the platforms. Makes the mobile app fairly pointless and doubles your workload.

Since the update reminders do not work. You enter them and they’ll show in your register but then they still show not entered in the reminder list. Also constantly telling me my accounts can’t update to fix. If I refresh enough it will eventually correct it on its own. When the transactions I enter in the app upload to the cloud and then download to the desktop app they never match with anything download it from the bank if anything Ashley downloads from the bank which is hit or miss. Been using this app for decades and have to say over the last year I wish I could find another option.

Seems that sync issues are resolved, at least the ones I care about. The UI got a badly needed update. My complaint now as I’m starting to use it again is using it to update the transactions. It lags when saving the data. You do it enough time and you just want to give up. It doesn’t save you time, might as well do it on the desktop. So defeats a he purpose of having an app to use as a time saver. Old review: The apps works when it's not having issues. I can no longer sync my PayPal accounts bec sync stopped working for those accounts. I'm just syncing my checking and saving and one cc account and sometimes it works. Far from all the other accounts I have. I haven't seen any updates for over a year. Hoping for better alternative...

Never matches even when scanning

I am an long term user of Quicken and have used it on my computer with little issues. I have downloaded this app a couple of times in the last couple of years and each time all my balances are wrong. Not dependable for tracking your finances.

I have been using this program for 40 years I love it I keep track of everything on my phone take pictures of my receipts the end of the year printed out and take it to the tax lady I love it

Working with the desktop version, there are no issues. But I open the app and it says six accounts need updating… Swipe to fix. Swipe gives no path to a fix, just some standard text with typographical errors and no opportunity to find help.

Every time I open the app it’s asking me to sign in/authenticate all my accounts all over again. Meaning it’s never up to date or functioning, useless!

You can use Quicken to be as simple or as detailed as you want with your personal and business financial transactions.

App is unresponsive

Downloaded the app and signed in and then it froze. Because I’m stubborn, I did this several times with the same result.

This app would be so much more useful if it wasn’t frequently logging me out and requiring me to log back in again. I have a passcode set so I don’t see a security need for the ridiculous number of times I’ve had to go through this. Every time it does this, it insists on re-downloading all my data. Over a poor cell connection, this can take several minutes — if it manages to finish. This wrecks the usefulness of using it to record transactions while I’m out and about.

Since the recent update, I’ve had to sign in every time I use the mobile app. What gives? The update was supposed to help this issue!

As a previous reviewer has said, I also have to sign in with my password every single time I open the app after the most recent update. That’s really inconvenient.

Have to login every time I want to use the app now. Takes forever to show my data. Why? I regret migrating from PC to MAC with Quicken. The MAC version is grossly inferior to the windows version.

Paid for the premier membership, but the website is so janky and useless that I can’t even get logged in. I reset my password 5 times and it would not recognize it on windows, macOS, iOS or on the website. Trash software, wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy.

Can’t believe that Quicken continues to lower their standards when it comes to development. Between the lack of real development on their Mac application and the horrible performance on their mobile application is frustrating. Might be time to look for alternatives.😡

The upcoming bills calendar in the desktop version is useful. This mobile app is useless to me without it. I’ll continue to keep a calendar of bills in a mobile calendar app and am considering not renewing my quicken membership.

My windows Quicken desktop app works fine and is always kept up to date. Unfortunately when the IOS app syncs it does not sync the bank information, causing log-in errors with the banks in the mobile app. My bank requires a separate log-in for the Quicken desktop that differs from my web access log-in. Perhaps most infuriating is Quicken’s troubleshooting response which basically says that your password is wrong-you need to fix it. QUICKEN IS ANALOG IN A DIGITAL WORLD!

I’ve used Quicken for years. It helps me keep track of expenses and income. I like to reconcile my statements and it’s especially helpful for that. I realize that many people don’t bother to reconcile their statements anymore so they let the bank keep track of their money. My only complaint is the yearly cost.

I’ve only been using this for a few hours on my phone and iPad, but it’s crashed half a dozen times already. It’s better than nothing, but only just.

Not able to enter user is and password because not formatted correctly on iPhone 12 Mini. Would love to use in conjunction with desktop.

If you really don’t want to screw up your banking DO NOT USE THE APP OR THE CLOUD ITS THE WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Major problem with synchronization! The Cloud needs major help every time I synchronize with my desktop my accounts get all screwed up and worst of all the amounts that are on my desktop do not appear correctly on this app!

It’s mind blowing to me that anyone would give this app four or five stars. It is buggy, lacks countless basic features, takes an eternity to load, and has a twenty year old UI. What am I paying a yearly premium for?

Scan to sign in only works for Windows users.

Syncing is no longer a major issue as it was in the past.

I wish it would be more like the full Quicken version. It is limited I use it mainly to enter transactions on the run and look at my current spending

I have used Quicken in my household since the DOS version was out. Keeps me organized and I now enjoy the mobile version to quickly make entries and check balances on the go.

At first, this is was basically useless but now it actually works and you don’t need to log into your desktop to manage your budget. Please keep improving the app and more making it user friendly. Thanks

It takes quite a bit if fiddling to get it to sync with the cloud reliability so the desktop and mobile version don’t overwrite each other and everything works fine until one day you need to call support (I wasn’t able to add new online accounts) and they ask your sign out of your cloud account and then the next time you sign in you lose all your attachment - all your records are wiped and you’re left a fragment of the information. This is a consistent problem I’ve had to years. Their cloud is beyond broken and can jeopardize your business and become a nightmare for accounting. They can’t seem to get their cloud act together now so I DREAD anytime I need to add something new or adjust something or call support. Backup anytime before you do something and backup everyday and backup your backups just incase something changes at the backend and keep your records outside quicken for atleast a year just case it wipes everything out. I’ve had this happen to me atleast 4 times in the last 6 years and yet I dread it. You’ve been warned!

Title explains it. Will not sync to proper date. Showing data from a year or so ago. Useless! Not surprised though with the lack of intelligence at Quicken!

I am using Quicken for a long time and I loved it. I know who much money I have. And the mobile app is wonderful. Last update eliminate the capacity of the app to recognize the establishment and put in on the Payee .

After many years of use, the mobile and iOS versions of Quicken no longer work with USAA Federal Savings Bank, thus rendering it useless for entering transactions and downloading from the bank on the go. USAA blames Quicken for weak security, and Quicken blames USAA’s new security protocols. It’s too bad because I’ve been a Quicken user since the 1990s and am now looking for another software app to replace it with.

Compared to the desktop app, this app is lacking. It’s missing features, the data is inconsistent, and if you switch data files, it loses all of its history. I get that it’s an iphone app, but it should be better than this. Quicken desktop is great, but they need to work on this app. Given the power of iPhones now, they can do a lot more.

I tried Quicken again after 5 years of something else. I was hoping they streamlined how the mobile app works with the desktop. Nope! I just lost a whole month and 3 weeks of very detailed personal transactions because of Quicken not synching between the mobile and desktop versions. Now I have a huge mess and a waste of money and time on a still-bad product. Do not use!

Why won’t Quicken update Regions Financial anymore? Quicken says it’s Regions problem, Regions says it’s Quickens problem.

Used quicken mobile and web for years. So many times data gets corrupted by their application upgrades and they just tell you “sorry it wasn’t intentional” and leave you stranded. It’s kind of ridiculous and I’m over it.

I use to love quicken. Until they started updating stuff that didn’t need updating. Now when I look at my account it keeps saying I’m 2k in the negatives. I’ve deleted all forms of this app and reinstalled and still just crap I will not be renewing my subscription to this app

Will not open on iPad. Fix it or take it off the site. Right now it is a piece of junk.

I downloaded this app and sync’d my data with the Quicken Cloud data from my Windows PC. After a short time (and multiple updates from Quicken) the app corrupted my Quicken Cloud data, which in turn corrupted my PC’s Quicken data file. This caused all sorts of errors and misapplied transactions, basically losing 12 years worth of hard work! I will not be renewing my Quicken Windows subscription as a result. Even after 2 hours with tech support taking over my screen, they could not get the App to work properly and gave up. It’s a horribly written App and just doesn’t work with Quicken for Windows. Useless. I deleted it off my phone for good, this time. Switching to a different accounting platform.

Very disappointed that categories I have worked so hard to maintain in my desktop version of quicken will not sync with the mobile app. I wasted so much time trying to delete my cloud version and re-synch, but have had no success. Only thing this app does is consolidate my accounts, which my bank allows me to add 3rd party accounts, so it is really worthless.

App and website both have poor logins making them impractical for use. Turn your head for a second, have to log back in. Already logged in, but you’re prompted to log back in to ensure you have the latest information. It’s 2021, Ouicken developers you can copy and paste from Simplifi’s code base to easily provide users with a better experience. Or give them a call to see if they can fax you a copy of their applicable code.

I have used Quicken since the Floppy Disk was Cardboard…..Have been with And Trust this product for all my Finance records and planning..I have also tracked my investments and I would look no where else for finance solutions

Loved the app up to recently. All my Payees I have used are gone for some reason after last update. Very frustrating! Please fix.

The app works great now, offering so many of the functions the desktop version does. And it just keeps getting better with every version.

Very poor support service. I have contacted support service several time with the question as to why the mobile app crashes. They don’t know. Would not recommend.

The app can perform basic account functions in a cumbersome manner. It’s real downfall is not being able to perform investment transactions, other than update prices for what was there already.

…maybe just me but I tried for an hour to sync all my Quicken bank and brokerage accounts from my desktop quicken file but it would only pull over my data from one account. I use the desktop version all the time so it’s not that I’m unfamiliar with Quicken. Finally gave up.

I don’t see how this gets good reviews. I found it absolutely useless!! I could never find the information I needed. I could not display individual accounts. It was a mess and not at all helpful. That was my experience. Not sure what benefit it provides to anyone. Don’t waste your time with it, in my opinion.

Doesn’t work I’m trying to create an account keeps saying something went wrong

I don’t usually write reviews but I have to write this one. If I could give them zero stars I would. I’ve been using Quicken and QuickBooks for many years. However Quicken has become un-usable as every time I log in there’s MULTIPLE TRANSACTIONS that they haven’t been able to fix. I’ve dealt with tech support on numerous occasions and they’re no help. I’m getting close to retirement and depend on my software to work. I’m really at my wits end. Please do something about this issue or I’ll have no choice but to find another program that hopefully will work.

I started out with Quicken a very long time ago especially when it was new to the market. Used for my banking and financial picture before I got involved in retirement and investment accounts. Then I upgraded to the investment program. Quite impressed. My only REAL BIG COMPLAINT is that I liked the windows version more than the NAC version. It has more capabilities like year ending and closing out of unneeded data that is only making the quicken version more data drive. REALLY ON NEED 5 Years worth h of data. Quicken let’s get the Mac version up to date and more like the windows version.

Tried bringing in hsa and assets like homes. I thought quicken was superior to mint and the other freebie finance apps. I only had luck bringing in basic checking and a credit card. Support couldn’t figure it out so I just canceled.

Still no support for photos. Need ability to run FROM server, not sync on each device

I've used this app for at least several years, but I've used the desktop Quicken for at least 15 years. The app is easy & quick to add expenses on the go. No more piling up of paper receipts in my purse to enter later in my computer software. I just sync the app with my desktop version and everything is there. It seems to get better and better in my opinion!

I have/was a Quicken user since the earliest versions. I prefer to actually have my own copies of the software I use. Now since having to buy a subscription and be charged monthly I can longer be a Quicken use. Those that prefer subscriptions; best of luck to you. To Quicken.com goodbye!

Crashes while opening. Usually don’t leave review but I pay this company money and this is unacceptable.

I’ve used quicken for years, and it’s great to see the investments (😉) Quicken has made into its mobile app, especially in recent months. It’s become easier to use, more powerful, and most importantly, better looking as a result, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Worked great and now it is totally useless. You can enter a transaction but can’t assign a catagory. Easier to look for a new app then find someone at support.

Not always signed in so have to occasionally sign back in. Can’t categorize like you want. Limited on a few option for categories for expenses.

It does not reflect accurately what you have in accounts. I tried to get them to mesh but was unsuccessful and deleted app. The app is not useful.

Do not add transactions and expect them to sync with your computer. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t. Completely unreliable.

I love the Quicken desktop app, but the mobile version forces you to log out and back in again every single time you ever dare to use the app in a new location. Visiting a new coffee shop? Gotta log back in. New store? Log back in, under the auspices of “security”. It’s a breaking feature that makes the mobile app exhausting to use.

Why doesn’t the sort setting save? Every time I go into my checking account I have to re-select “Pending to Cleared” every time.

It syncs well from Quicken for Mac. However, it shows all accounts in USD!! Some are from different currencies but it shows them in USD! The totals are correct though

Continually syncs accounts I’ve excluded from mobile sync and downloads transactions separately from the desktop app making balances different between the platforms. “Sync” is not a term they can handle.

BEWARE: Sync to the new mobile service ate all the deposits in my quicken checking register; I had to go to restore from 5 day old back up and re-enter all recent debits and credits; will not use Mobile app service for now; will try to reconnect to sync in a few days but not before I’ve done a current backup in case it happens again

I have been using quicken since the year of 2000. For my it’s not just financial registry it a record of my life all along the last 20 years.
