Origin is a very sleek looking app that provides a comprehensive approach to DIY financial management, leveraging AI and technology to empower budgeting, investment tracking, and retirement forecasting tools that gives you a much more personalized experience. They utilize multi-platform account aggregator services to easily and securely import your financial accounts balance, transaction and other pertinent information for a large range of financial entities. Their built-in AI agent is then integrated such that it can leverage the imported data from your financial accounts, in addition to capturing custom memory, that gives you a fine tuned and seamless experience from your first chat prompt sessions to future sessions down the road. It gives much more exacting answers because of this, and you don’t have to deal with re-prompting previous information again and again like you would with a normal AI LLM search provider. On top of this base subscription, Origin offers additional cost effective paid services for estate planning document generation, working sessions with a CFP, and even tax return preparation through their partner provider April. All in all, I think Origin positions itself nicely in the market of low cost comprehensive financial management software, chiefly because of the technology/AI and feature rich offerings that allows the DIY folks to have better control over their finances without having to pay for more expensive, AUM or flat-fee costs for active wealth management providers. Now that’s not to say that Origin will be the most ideal software for more rigid retirement planning/management, or for folks with more advanced financials/tax situations. However, I think it’s a fair price for scope of services it brings to the table. And hey, Origin is giving you 1 year of access at only a $1 cost. So seriously, go try it out for yourself. I’ve tried working with support, but responses have been very slow. It often takes weeks to resolve the connection issue, only for it to break again the next day. This problem has been recurring for several months, and I’m reaching the point where I may need to give up and move on.

Modern, easy, adaptable, and helpful. Genuinely love Origin. Super easy to set up, wish I knew about this sooner. Onboarding was so easy and it connects seamlessly to all of my accounts. I haven’t had the same luck with other paid budget services. Been a YNAB user for years but making the switch! The amount of information about all aspects of my finances can’t be beat. Looking forward to some savings bucket features. Ive been using this all for over a week now and I haven’t been able to find another app that is as comprehensive as this one! I e tried over 3 this year and origin by far is the best one of them all. Not only is the UI extremely user friendly and intuitive- it also gives you a full and comprehensive break down on all of your financial accounts and provides expert analysis and suggestions to how to make your next financial move and how you are doing overall. I really liked the UI and how I was able to track my spending and everything. But the app constantly breaks and I have to restart, especially in the budget tab, sometimes the app is very slow so even entering the app takes a while.

Been using Origin for almost a year now and it’s been a total game changer. I have consistently spent less and less each month being to review my finances as often as daily to monthly. The app is really easy to navigate the more you use it and I’ve recently started using it on my iPad also which is an extremely user friendly interface. They offer a lot of different areas to manage your money, with a newly introduced investing section that I only recently started looking into. Overall, would highly recommend to anyone new to managing their money more in depth and wanting to have an easier time finding the true problem areas in their spending as the app gets very specific in the categories that transactions are funneled into.

Incredibly buggy and support tickets stay open for months without resolution. Their “AI” is below average at best. I’m hoping that Monarch is better, which I am planning on switching to

I am absolutely loving this app! it has so many different tools that you can use for budgeting investing, and saving. I’ve used many different financial apps in the past, and I can say without a doubt, that this is the best one that I have tried to this day. There only a couple of things that I wish this app had. 1. Some sort of bucket savings integrated into the high-yield cash account. 2. A clear way on the homepage to look at you’re currently liquid cash in the bank account. I got this because I wanted more out of a finance app especially because I used to use rocket money and I got it for $1 for a whole year but with all the features and the fact that you get a AI financial advisor that will auto invest in stocks for you sold me. I would not mind at all paying the $99 a year because either is more than fair. I’ve been really happy with this app.

This is easily the best and cleanest budgeting app in the App Store. I’m a HUGE UI guy and this is honestly perfect. All my stocks and bank accounts in the same place. Credit cards and their due dates too. Literally don’t even have to open another banking app. I hope they expand further into banking and/or a full brokerage.

I was just telling my husband how obsessed I am with this all. The UI is so nice and easy to use and the budgeting feature is so easy to use and actually has made a difference in my life. I hope this app never disappears.

I’ve tried the top 25ish most used financial tracking apps or services and Origin tops the list. Fantastic functionality and intuitive UI. AI is making some of these financial apps redundant with their personal finance capabilities, but I’ll be using Origin alongside AI personal finance tools.

I have only been using for a few days and there’s definitely room for improvement in some areas I would say overall from a spending and cashflow perspective it’s one of the best I have used. I am a 30 year+ quicken user but origin may be the end of that. The investing side is good but in some areas not as mature as others but the AI integration has been very interesting.

I would recommend it

There is NO point in having a financial app that doesn’t reliably connect to institutions. ALL institutions, not just the ones that are popular or big. The reliance on services like Plaid and MX means that basically if one of these apps don’t work for you, none of them will. Above and beyond that, literally half the interface is them trying to upsell you on their additional services. I have no idea why they are as highly rated as they are. The AI suggestions are weak, the “insights” are weak, basically I get the same information from quicken and I pay less per year. And if you truly want the same level of capability as a non-connected Origin, Actual Budget is free and open source. Luckily I got this during their Christmas $1 sale. If I’d paid full price I would be HUGELY annoyed. I recommend waiting for those types of sales if you want to try this app out.

Been using the app for about 2 months and it really works well for financial planning and getting a summary of your spending habits. I like the centralized view and ease of the AI to do things like plan a future vacation or how long until you gather enough money for a down payment. I think it’s really great for beginners-intermediate learners to personal finance as I do use it daily. The $99 annual fee does seem a bit steep for just the use of AI over an app with the same concept as Rocket Money. I think that this app is very helpful. I love how I can customize the categories and make it more accurate to myself . The only issues I have had is uploading my investments. However that’s not the reason why I downloaded the app so it doesn’t bother me much. I wish would could get a paycheck by paycheck breakdown or two week break down rather than by month. Co pilot was good for a bit until I realized it’s not accurate at all! Having both apps setup at the same time it’s apparent that origin is the way to go. Origin’s ai is a game changer! Instead of manually figuring out financials I can just ask it what’s going on. Albeit there might be some hiccups the first week due to incomplete information. It is now week 2 and is spot on. Of all the top profile apps out there I wasn’t sure how this one would stack up. But so far I’m very impressed. I have had many issues getting fidelity’s accounts to connect to budget apps due to its native investment profile look. But this one has seemed to pick it up seamlessly. I’ll continue using this for now but it looks like I have finally got a winner. The ai component is a nice touch too, and to have it integrated into the app makes it easy to ask questions and look at things within your own unique situations. The app is great and useful, especially when you can add widgets to your Home Screen… except for one thing. The app releases a new update practically every week (or so it feels) and it doesn’t let you use the app, view it in your widgets, or anything if you haven’t updated it yet. You also have to re-sign in every time the app updates, so the auto update feature on the iPhone doesn’t help either. Deleting my account and the app as it’s a waste to pay for this when you can’t even use it half the time without having to manually redownload and resign into the app every other day lol

Cool concept, but I had challenges typical of an AI-first company. I had a very simple need to reset the trust process so I could start a regular will. The clankers won’t do this. My financial planner that I met with said he would do this and didn’t. I left my email so someone would get back to me and somehow this didn’t work until I did it a second time. Given that the app is supposed to help you keep track of things, it’s ironic that this has become one more thing to keep track of, that doesn’t do what you ask. I did get a response to this review with an email I could’ve used for a fifth try to fix things. Fortunately, the fourth try sorted it out.

Bank no longer connects to Origin with 3 months remaining on annual subscription. Live customer support is non existent. Highly suggest finding alternative financial tracker.

Origin has honestly been one of the most helpful tools I’ve used for budgeting and financial awareness. The detailed tracking is easy to access in multiple views and formats, which makes understanding my finances feel much less overwhelming. The AI budgeting feature was especially impressive — it helped build a spending budget by category based on my actual habits and gave really useful insight into my spending, income, savings, ratios, and overall financial planning. It does give much clarity on the state of my finances and contributes to a drastic decrease of financial stress however there’s simply no way they aren’t selling my data to some foreign company— I simply don’t care though.

Every time I would log back in it would ask for me to do whole other budget. Once that got done finally, it was good for a day or two. Now, I can’t even open up the app anymore. It asked to set up facial recognition every time I open the app. When I click Yes, it just spins on the loading screen. I’ve kept it open for an hour and never passed that screen. When I click No, nothing happens… It’s great if there were no bugs. I shouldn’t have to delete the app and redownload multiple times, restart my phone, or anything like that.

What a sham. The app coincidentally becomes unusable after I sign up and pay the $1 membership. Closed and reopened the app, it just spins. Restarted phone, same thing. Using a mobile web browser, it just shunts me to the broken app.

If you sign up with your Apple account using hide my email, you will never get a confirmation email so you can login yet they’ll still charge your card the only way to stop it is you have to dispute the transaction and then go into Apple Pay and de-authorize them from charging you for the yearly renewals. So even though I paid for it, I was never able to login. I’ve never heard back from them. The only one that was able to help me with the Apple Card itself thank God I used that instead of my American Express.

I don’t rate apps very often, but this is a freaking awesome app. It’s not nearly as complicated as Copilot and more polished than monarch. The projection tool is fun but can sometimes push you towards the higher end/idealism.

I like the idea that AI is able to conversationally look at my budget but it’s still disconnected from making actual changes. Look at how Descript’s Underlord feature works and how it can modify settings and clips. The AI chat bot should be able to make new budget categories and adjust items, not just talk about it.

Great app! I was a long time Mint customer and switched to Quicken Simplifi when Mint moved to ads and selling their users services they didn't need. None of these services moved fast enough into AI. So, I started to build my own. Then I found Oirign. AI is at its core and it is incredibly powerful to be able to ask natural language questions about my finances and receive clear, actionable insights. That said, it still has many of the same issues as it non-AI competition. Each one should be more easily solvable through Origin's AI. Here are the top 3 drawbacks: 1. Origin's AI cannot make changes to its underlying data. It can give you guidance. While the rule engine is powerful it feels lacking when AI could easily create the rule for me. 2. The Net Worth calculation is flawed. It is based on account connection date of like every other app in this space. Therefore, you end up zero net worth history to start. This is easily solvable we AI. Origin syncs 19 months of transactions and should use its AI to calculate each month's net worth balance. It can use public market data to closely approximate market fluctuations for the investment accounts. 3. Please add a feature to link an existing mortgage or auto loan to manually entered home or vehicle. Most of Origin's competitors have this feature.

Your website says you have a monthly subscription available yet your app tries to force you into a year. How can anyone trust your ai when it can’t even detect the bug that there’s not even a membership tab in the settings on mobile? Shouldn’t even be paying at all considering it’s ai.

I’ve let myself get a little messy with my accounts in the past so having this app really helps get a vision on how much I was getting and how much I was spending. It even lets you put your brokerage accounts and track those as well.

Been with Monarch Money since Mint shutdown like most people, liked a lot of their features but some features such as budgets and cash flow didn’t work well/limited. Trying Origin out and I think I’ll keep it since even the setup I’m getting more insights into my finances now. Data does update in all locations, data is difficult to update. Sync issues with financial accounts. Unable to delete account. Error after error. Many more issues… I contact support and they were not helpful.

This touted its AI budgeting capability. It’s not any better than all the other budgeting software or apps. In fact this may be worse because frankly it’s not very easy to use compared to things like Mint from years ago. Not happy glad I only spent a dollar. Will not continue.

I am very pleased I installed this app. This does put everything to perspective. Without this app, I wouldnt have noticed I was paying thousands of dollars for my amazon buys alone. AI takes forever to respond and sometimes isn’t intelligent enough to understand the meaning of what I ask. There are bugs in the newest version and I cannot even sign in. The budget tab has difficult and buried UX.

Overall, the benefit is it leverages AI to help you understand general questions or recommendations. I doesn’t look into your specific numbers though. For example, if you ask ‘how much did I gift in 2025?’ It would give you directions on how to filter for the ‘gift’ category and the ‘date’. I’m not entirely a fan of how the budget is set up. If I go over my set budget, it doesn’t account for the fact that I have extra income to cover it. That’s my main issue so far. The other smaller issue is it doesn’t seem to match a credit card payment from the checking account to the credit card account. It just tags both of them as hidden. This app is trying to be a one stop shop for budgeting, investment tracking and forecasting. I think for most users this will do an excellent job of that but for people who want more control over their finances they will find some features lacking and not as robust as some more established players. For example. I’m an avid YNAB user for budgeting and would’ve loved Origin to take over but it was not as detailed as I’d like it to be. I’m also a ProjectionLab user for forecasting and while Origins is decent, it does not have the level of control that I was looking for. Again, I want to iterate for the majority of users Origin is a good solution. Investment tracking is the best in class however. Tracking values daily and providing market insight using AI is one of the more useful AI use cases. Digesting what’s happening to my portfolio with market insight tailored to me is very helpful. Origin is without a doubt the best budgeting app I’ve ever used (I’ve tried RocketMoney, Mint, excel spreadsheets). These guys have genuinely thought of everything. I had to write this review after discovering that I could split transactions to different categories (such a rare use case but insanely useful when you need it). The situation was that I bought my date’s food but didn’t want to inflate my ‘Dining’ category with the transaction. Thanks to Origin through, I was able to assign half to my ‘Dining’ category and the other to my ‘Other’ category. With so many small features like that, I discover a new useful one every few weeks. On the flip side, all of these features can make the app overwhelming at first. But like any complex software, it’s better to approach it by using what you need and then discovering things over time. Also shout out to the swipe left or right feature to review transactions — so brilliant and super efficient.

I filled in the information multiple times for my banking so I can start a savings account and putting money into there, but every time I did, it would never give me the prompt to put money in. I went under the investment to have multiple times, and it either said sign in or start investing and every time I would fill in all the information it’s connected to my bank account and I refresh did nothing open the app again did nothing refresh my phone even did nothing delete it and re-download the app and did nothing so this is an absolute 0/10 app

App is a bummer if I can’t leverage the sso tool to use all features. Defeats the purpose and leaves a sour taste in how poorly handled it is.

It seems like this could be a good app but might just be too premature. Downloading and getting up and running had a few bugs in the process but finally got through. Then, using the app has some limitations. Budgets are limited to only their categories and aren’t easily customizable or removable making it hard to group how you want. Questions regularly time out and are way too large for simple questions—it’s difficult to be conversational and make small adjustments because it just thinks for 5 minutes and outputs a novel (if it doesn’t time out). Lastly, it’s the company. They send an email offering a $100 gift card possibility if you leave a 5-star review. Not just a review. If you want to build a good app, solicit real feedback not something to prop your stats. I don’t need your $100.

This app sucks. Use another financial app. After I linked my bank accounts, they won’t let me unlink them unless I first sign up to a subscription with them. Also, after you sign up, they add you on auto-renew through their portal to charge you $99 for the renewal.

Update: Origin financial eventually reached out to me and their human support team was quite helpful and prompt. They say they’re going to make improvements to their AI support as well as that was poor. I did a brief trial of Origin as an alternative to Mint. After touring it I decided it wasn’t for me right now but forgot to realize my account was set to auto-enroll in an annual membership. When I saw a notification action that I’d been charged I wrote their support immediately after seeing the transaction go through to cancel and ask for a refund as I’ve never used the product and don’t plan to. Usually this isn’t an issue when writing immediately, but I haven’t even heard a response from anyone but their AI support. Origin kept my money and has sent 0 correspondence for 2 months. I’ve gone back to the app for support and the AI agent keeps saying a human agent will get back to me but radio silence. I wouldnt trust this company with your financial data if this is how they treat customers. Even an acknowledgment or notice that they won’t refund tthe money would be better than having 0 way to get a response from anything but a bot.

For being an app that is supposed to be able to use AI and "Autopilot" your finances as it is marketed, it requires a ton of effort to try to get it to work smoothly. It is really horrible at recognizing transactions and putting them into proper categories. It has a feature currently where you can quickly review your transactions which is not working. After reviewing transactions for an hour and correctly labeling them none of my progress is saving onto the app. It is very convenient to have all my transactions in one place but it needs a TON of work before it lives up to what it is marketed as.

I’ve been using Origin for a week now and after learning the ins and out, it has become a daily tool to monitor my financial health, investment status and budget tracking. I still have lots to discover, but overall I’m quite pleased and have no reason to seek an alternative.

Great integration with all my accounts allows for a comprehensive view of my financial situation. Frustrating occasional but consistent technical issues, such as constantly needing to re-add accounts, can obscure that view by duplicating liabilities or assets.

Buggy works with chime and apple but when i do cashapp it will constantly ask for the same one time code on loop been trying different ways updated both apps checked the setting to no avail id wait for more if you were waiting for a app that can track cashapp spending

I am using Origin and Monarch at the same time. Origin is way much better over investment, much more detailed. The only one thing that really bothers me most is the fonts. It is so tiny small and it can’t be adjusted. I hope the new future updates will address this issue.

I wanna love this app however it is consistently giving inaccurate information even after interconnecting all my accounts it refuses to take in all that information. It forgets very clear cut out information. It makes very strange assumptions. The information provided is so bad. That none of it can be trusted, and if I didn’t have a better picture of my finances myself, it would cause some very big problems. It feels like the app is consistently trying to gaslight. I seriously question legitimacy of many of these reviews.

I just downloaded the app. All I am seeing is the blank window to the right and a pane on the left side with unresponsive menu options. What do I do now to get started?

So far so good as this app makes the tracking and budgeting of my finances extremely easy. Additionally, there are a lot of built in resources to help you along. Highly recommended!

Origin has quietly removed the fundamentals of financial software — budgets, income confirmation, assumption review — and replaced them with a one-way, opaque “AI-first” interface. There is no way to see how your income is classified, how expenses are normalized, or what the system is uncertain about. There is also no real back-and-forth with the AI to correct errors. The result is blind trust. You’re shown confident-looking outputs without any audit trail, which is unacceptable in a financial app. Anyone with irregular income, retirement cash flow, insurance, taxes, or medical expenses will find the system making silent assumptions with no way to validate them. The recent $1 annual subscription price is the tell — this feels less like a production-ready product and more like users are being subsidized to train a model while the UX and documentation are unfinished. AI can be useful, but replacing transparency and controls with faith is not progress. Until Origin provides visible assumptions, confirmation loops, and basic financial controls, it’s hard to recommend this to anyone outside a narrow, young, salaried demographic.

Spent 25 min connect my 6 bank accounts, loans, and cards, just for the app to say “no transactions detected” but it shows my balances so clearly this is just an app issue and not a connection issue. Would like a refund

Setting a budget for the month and having a chart that helps me monitor is invaluable. I wish I could set a budget for every paycheck but every month works too. Seeing subscriptions is also useful. It’s a beautiful app.

I have been a long time Mint user but when they closed I moved to Monarch. Monarch feels bulky and antique. Origin beats Monarch hands down in the AI and simplicity. I was up and running in no time with all my accounts, budgets investment etc. I am glad I found this app and so far it has been a fantastic!

Have been looking for an alternative since Mint shut down. While this isn't perfect, it's pretty dang close. It's streamlined and intuitive. And I like being able to access it on the web and the app. Would recommend everyone try it out!

It has been couple of months using Origin. I was able to import transactions from Quicken from CSV with the provided Origin template. Only caveat though, you cannot attach old transactions from quicken to an online account; but you can import as a manual account that exists separately. The mobile App UI is great but the font is very small even on a 6.5 inch screen, there seems no way to increase the font. Got 1 year for $1 , hoping for longer term stay with Origin.

This app combines all of the best features of many of the other apps out there into a single location and for the lowest cost out there. When you add in the access to their AI advisor to help guide you to better decisions, it’s easy to see Origin taking over in this budget app space.

The Origin app has been very easy to use and helpful in planning out my 2026 goals!

So far it’s doing its best and has all things I need. AI can further improve and was looking for more than 6months history - that can be enhanced.. also bigger panes for each section would help or a popup

I subscribed hoping for an app that did a good job aggregating my transactions across my accounts and giving me an easy tool to categorize and track my spending. This app does so much more…. but all of it poorly. It is constantly glitching, often deleting any changes I’ve made. It’s not customizable, so the features I do use are buried several layers deep in submenus, and it constantly trying to shove unhelpful AI tools at me. It’s also very laggy. Over all, it gets the job done, but I wish it would focus on address core needs very well rather than pursuing bling features and doing it all mediocrely.

I love how I am able to track my spending real time and my finances across various organizations.

I have it set to update regularly and when I hit to update but it doesn’t even though it says it does. Made trades today and have updated 4 or 5 times and the trades still don’t show. That’s not good.

I conducted and tested a number of different tools similar to origin and found that this one serves my needs best. Everyone has differing needs and I urge independent research to determine the best fit. With that said, I would recommend that you check out Origin. They have been responsive to my inquiries and suggestions, and I found this comprehensive tool extremely helpful for laying the path for a secure financial future.

I've been using Origin for a few weeks now and I really like it. All my financial accounts were relatively easy to set up (a couple smaller accounts were initially a struggle but I ended up getting everything connected in less than an hour). I was also able to add my property to see a real picture of my net worth (I like that it syncs with the property value on Zillow), and I even was able to add my credit score. I think that's cool. Very nice to see everything in one place!

Other apps are better this app doesn’t keep up.

Couldn’t add my AMEX add. Also, when I tried to use the AI feature I was most excited about, the app just kept “thinking” and couldn’t produce an answer.

Best personal finance and budget app I have ever used. Excellent user interface and seamless account integrations. I may even be able to replace quickbooks!

I used the AI feature to set up my budget which is still in beta mode, and it recommended for me to almost double my average monthly spend from 2025 for 2026. I thought that was wildly odd for a budgeting app to tell me to spend twice as much money as I usually do… but also why would anyone have a goal of spending more?? So I really only find the tracking features useful. Would not even bother with the AI features. I also found it disingenuous that the company is asking people to give them a 5 star review in exchange for entering a drawing to win an Amazon gift card. This made me distrust the app even more. So do not believe the 5 star reviews you see.

I tried connecting my accounts a few times. The status showed they’re connected but the spending section was still empty after refreshing the app. The app glass design looked cool but it’s a little hard to read

This is by far the best AI budgeting system I have come across. And they’re introduction promo of one dollar for the year is incredible. I’m hooked and will be with them for a while.

I have tried just about every budgeting app and this one ABSOLUTELY OUTSHINES all the others. Plus it’s 1$ for a whole year!? YES PLEASE!! It connects directly to my bank account and track the transactions WITHOUT knowing my personal information! I can’t recommend this app enough!

Never mattered how many people said it’s important to budget and see how you’re spending, I could never get myself to review statements and follow a budget. This app has changed that! All of my accounts are in one place, it’s easy to use & customize, and the visuals were successful in providing me with a “wake up call” I didn’t know I needed. Another favorite feature is seeing all of my recurring transactions in one place. I didn’t realize I had so many subscriptions!

Barring all of the features such as in-house brokerages, budgeting, and the AI advisor, I am most impressed by origin’s integration with my financial institutions. All of my accounts consistently remain connected and transfer transaction data to the app instantaneously. With every budgeting app previously, I’d have to manually track spending, have to reconnect my bank accounts regularly, or only get half my spend data because the integrators never added my banks/investment accounts as an option to connect with. Thank you origin :)

Update: I’m glad it was a $1 trial period. The app is very glitchy. Rules don’t work. Some transactions don’t count as expenses. Some transactions have just disappeared. The forecast still shows an incorrect amount of liabilities, even though there have been several updates. The Spent This Month window and the widget show one amount that I spent, while the category breakdown (budget) shows a different amount. I don’t know, this is a financial app that creates more mess in budgeting than it helps.

I have tried for weeks to give this app a chance. Monarch is much better at everything original tries to do. The ai is some of the worst ive dealt with. It can’t read trends properly, gets very slow, locked me out for 10 days over the holidays, can’t do basic financial math. Not to mention it thinks forever! Longer than any ai I have worked with. I do not recommend origin of you are here for the ai. If you want the budget app and you like its methods go for it but stay away from the ai.

I tried opening a brokerage account around 5 days ago and I uploaded my passport as requested and since I never received a notification, I did it 2-3 times again just in case. Later I emailed the team and just now I found out that my ticket was reviewed yesterday and they are working on it. If this is the type of customer service I’m getting BEFORE I have an account with you, what kind of service will I have when you have my money?? Very bad customer service as I was expecting a lot more from Origin. I guess I’ll have to return my money to Robinhood as you guys have no idea what’s going on.

It’s only good if you have one account. If you have multiple people/ multiple bank accounts and cards you are trying to connect, the app gets confused and you end up getting more confused on your end. I like the calendar part that shows how much you spend a day, but literally I just want to put my expenses, my salary, and figure out how much I’m Spending. It said I spent $250k in July or said I spent $22 this month. Bot$ of them are wrong. After playing around with it for 30 minutes, I’m going back to excel. I’m glad it works for some people, but will not recommend this to business owners, people with a lot of accounts, couples, or families. Cute UI but core functionality is not reliable. Consistently marks expenses as recurring randomly and frankly is pretty dumb without you have to explicitly create a bunch of rules and mark stuff. Plus it’s just not intuitive to use. I have to try like 10 different things just to get to the 1 or 2 things I want

Excellent app to manage your finances confidently

I really want to love Origin, but the spending tracking has been frustrating lately. It keeps flagging my internal bank transfers (moving money between my own accounts at the same bank) as "spending," which completely blows out my budget and makes the AI insights less useful. I’d love to see better logic for detecting transfers so I don't have to fix them manually. Also, a huge feature request: please add automatic car value tracking (like Zillow but for vehicles). Right now, having to manually update my car's value makes it hard to keep an accurate eye on my net worth.

Origin has been a pleasure to engage with and consistently provides clear, actionable insights into my portfolio. I especially appreciate how each response is thoughtfully tailored to my specific holdings and spending habits, which makes the experience feel truly personalized. The product is already impressive, and I am excited to see how it continues to evolve over time. The monthly views are very helpful, and expanding the ability to easily review prior months would help. There may be a good app buried in there somewhere but the UI has a horrible flow to it and buttons and other elements are just incredibly small on my 17 Pro.

Solid overall, just wish that transactions and net worth were updated continuously and not once a day or manually

I use Origin every few days, and especially once a month when I review my finances to make sure I'm on track. It's really easy to sort transactions and set rules. Budgeting is intuitive and I can really see the whole picture since I can also link my investment accounts, 401k, IRAs, and so forth. I can make sure I'm growing my modest wealth. If I had one constructive feedback, it would be sinking funds. Sometimes I want to save up for a big trip, and not have my monthly budget freak out about a big purchase. But that's it!

I waited a few months to write a review. It’s honestly horrible about tracking accounts and transactions. You need to micromanage everything to the point where they should be paying you. Every transfer needs to be fixed in order for the budget to make sense. The Ai features don’t help. You are better off using a spreadsheet.

I really like this app. Does have some intermittent sync issues but the UI is great and has a pleasant look all around. I would personally like to see a time stamp feature along with the date to better manage manual transactions as I do with certain accounts. Also another great feature I think would a game changer is to have a running balance with manual accounts that are not connected, synced. I currently have an app that does this and it is phenomenal as there are not many that have this feature. If Origin would implement these features I would use this app exclusively.

Update number two: Still basic math problems sale of the property resulting in negative equity property value is not updating correctly no manual override to correct. Makes projections difficult and questionable. There’s really no way for you to know whether the insight it’s giving you is correct without going through all the calculations yourself. Beautiful interface contains the correct financial pillars but again basic math can’t be overlooked. Update: I sent email to support as requested and the email got kicked back. Copied and paste from their reply. Still bad math on net worth calculation. All insight is worthless without correct numbers. First Review: I was super stoked stoked about this app trying to help eliminate debt and track net worth in cash flow. But as I said, they gotta get the basics first for net worth. It’s taking assets and liabilities and adding them together to produce an inflated net worth. Again basic math and rules of finance if the calculations aren’t correct it doesn’t matter how clean the interface is. $10 -$5 is not $15.

Not that reliable at all on staying updated with real time financial insights - my bank and investment portfolio was off by 200 on Origin each - doesn’t help when you want to make informed decisions and it’s so inaccurate after saying “updated right now”

Connects to my bank but it keeps disconnecting. Tried support, but they weren’t any help.

I can’t customize the screens or save my filters so when I leave transactions and come back all my filters are gone. So I’m gone….bye

Absolute trash. The fact that it can’t even properly label a transfer from my Capital One checking to my Capital One savings account as a TRANSFER (and not an EXPENSE/OUTFLOW!) shows that their product is straight trash. I will not spend more time correcting their AI/rulesets - this was literally the most basic thing to solve for. Both accounts connected to Origin btw! I hope some poor PM/eng is reading this review on Slack and feels bad.

Went to ask my 5th question in 24 hours and was told I hit my daily limit and to continue conversation tomorrow. Takes forever to answer questions. You need to exit out of the conversation and return and sometimes that will force it into answering the questions. The spend tracker function is far inferior to rocket money

Downloaded this because it seemed cool. The actual experience of using it has been less exciting and still not sure what the benefit of AI is here. Apps like Ramp seem to do a great job of blending a use case with AI that helps move things along, this app is a bit wonky- it’s still building my financial overview a week after I linked all my accounts. Seems like they are still developing it.

I used Quicken desktop for years, then transitioned to Mint 5-6 years ago. With the shutdown of Mint I found myself searching last year and decided to go with Quicken Simplifi. It’s an ok tool, does the job, but then I found Origin and man, I’m impressed. I’m running in parallel and finding that Origin is so much better for forward forecasting cash flow, net worth, etc… with Monte Carlo simulations, integrated AI. Just a totally different experience vs anything else I’ve found. Will be moving to Origin when Simplifi subscription expires.

I've tried every app out there and none of them even come close to the ease of use and features that Origin does. It's unbelievably easy to organize and keep track of every possible asset I have, and their cash account with an awesome APY is a nice bonus.

Cannot connect to PayPal or any Synchrony-based credit accounts. Kind of a deal breaker for usability. Neither of my PayPal accounts work with this app. Really stinks to have a chunk of my financial accounting missing from any picture that Origin might present.

This is by far the best app I have use for budget and investment analysis. Seamless integration of bank accounts, fidelity, and crypto. The real breakthrough is AI advisor; incredible real-time assessment of my investments, stock analysis, and crypto insights. Better than chatGPT as it analyzes your current holdings in real time!!

Northwestern mutual and Trowe Price / can’t see the data I need most, no fix in sight

The UI and stuff on this app is pretty nice, and then it rapidly goes downhill as far as usability. The AI feature tried to figure out my budget and completely missed a source of income. When I chat with the AI agent to tell it that it missed a source it basically said it only does the initial work and i have to do the fixing its mess manually. From the agent itself: "Based on Origin's documentation, it's helpful to think of the Al Budget Builder as a tool for creating a starting point, not a system that manages your budget on its own over time. Here's a breakdown of how it's designed to work: • One-time analysis: The Al's main job is to perform a onetime analysis of your past six months of income and spending to suggest an initial, personalized budget. This is intended to save you the work of building a budget from scratch." So if you're thinking like I was that this is some sort of true AI based application that is going to intelligently evaluate your data and update, organize, and re-categorize over time - this ain't the future folks. At least they have the one dollar for the first year promo so I'm not totally annoyed but unless there are massive actual AI improvements over the course of the I will continue using it. ChatGPT or Claude with a spreadsheet is way faster and smarter and would do ongoing adjustments for you. This is a massive f-AI-l

Easy to eliminate money transfer between my accounts!

All I have to say is: wow. I don’t normally write reviews, but this app genuinely blew me away. Before Origin, I was constantly explaining and re-explaining my financial situation to ChatGPT and manually updating numbers every time something changed. It was tedious and honestly frustrating. Origin completely solved that problem and not just functionally, but elegantly. It does what I always wished existed, and it does it far better than I expected. The insights are incredibly helpful, the data is highly accurate, and the UI is beautiful and intuitive. Everything feels thoughtful and well-designed. For the first time, I feel like I actually have a clear, real-time understanding of my finances without extra effort. I’m genuinely impressed and grateful this exists. I’ve wanted an app like this for so long, and Origin absolutely nailed it.

Great app, would love a way to help the AI know what different investment accounts are composed of so it can use the context for better guidance (targeted date funds for retirement accounts are hard for it to know what their made of). That and being able to make notes in the app would be great. All in all, awesome tools that I use all the time.

App works great and is constantly improving. Tax platform also seemed to work well this tax season. I’m updating this rating from 2 stars to 5 stars because the connection to Bank of America was broken for the longest time but is now fixed.

There is nothing straight forward about origin finances. I’ve tried again and again to budget and it just isn’t as clear as other programs.

Love the app except there needs to be an option to show account balances that include pending.

Admittedly, I was skeptical at first. Who can turn down $1 for a year? But the app is incredibly functional and does everything a budget app should. The reports are particularly useful and very robust. The "AI" is as involved (or not) as you want it to be. I found that I needed to pretty much manually setup everything for several hour once I started, because my spending categories were confusing to the AI and I have a lot of accounts. But once I got everything set up, the functionality blew me away. You can pretty much query the AI assistant to look at anything across your connected finances, make reports, analyze trends, make predictions, build plans - it's AWESOME. Exactly what an AI budget app should be. The app is pretty and easy to use, too. I switched from Rocket Money which just never gave me what I needed to actually budget. Do yourself a favor and try it. Origin is the way!

Origin has been a great way to keep track of my finances. The built-in AI is actually way better than I thought it would be. It gives informative/helpful insights on my finances and even can assist in setting up rules for how it should view your finances overall. Finally found the one that does it all ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve tried pretty much every budgeting tool out there Monarch, Tiller, Quicken, Copilot, Empower and more. Every time there was a tradeoff: either too expensive for what it offered, clunky design, limited features, or it just couldn’t handle both my day-to-day finances and my investments in one place. Origin is the first tool that actually checks every box for me. The UI is clean, modern, and easy to navigate. I can see my personal finances and my investment portfolio side by side, and the AI advisor gives me clear, practical suggestions instead of generic tips. It feels less like “another budgeting app” and more like a lightweight financial command center. I’m not someone who usually writes reviews, but this one deserves it. For the price, design, connectivity, and the AI advisor, I genuinely don’t think there’s a better value out there right now. I have never been able to get myself to understand how to even get started with making a budget. Origin very quickly analyzes your accounts and spending, and income, and makes an outline of what you spend on different categories and sees where you can save. Then if you want, it can make a budget for you as well as analyze future savings and worth. Love it!

I have used several apps to aggregate accounts and report net worth, and this by far has the cleanest feel and best user experience.

This app keeps getting a little better. AI assistant and daily, personal curtailed market brief, highlighting what my money is doing any why. I also got a year for $1. Feels like I’m stealing.

They somehow calculated net worth wrong. My mortgage is a negative amount in the liability column. They calculate net worth equals asset minus liability so they subtracted a negative amount which means they added my mortgage to my NW. Got it completely incorrect. I submitted a bug form but they haven’t fixed it after a week. You would think that this is priority to fix ASAP. Hard to trust this company when they make such a BIG mistake.

Could have so much potential but it doesn't sync with my banking app. Tried to upload an excel of my bank statements like it suggested but there app doesn't recognize it. Tried everything to get it to work but overall it's not compatible. So won't have the app long.

I got this app for its AI integration. Still poking around to understand it. I liked that it pulled all the info and categorized it, super insightful. It also suggested a budget and provided a path to saving a little bit over 12% more per month. I’m hopeful it’ll feel relevant when put into practice

I’ve been using Origin for a few days and I already love it. It is straightforward to use and synchronize with all your accounts. I love to have all my accounts visible in one place.

Origin has become the only money app I actually check every day. The AI categorization is shockingly accurate, and the way it shows spending, saving, and net worth in one place finally makes my finances feel understandable instead of overwhelming. It’s fast, clean, and doesn’t try to upsell me every two seconds. If you want a realistic view of your money without feeling judged or confused, this is the one.

I decided to give it a try since it's a full year for $1, and it's way better than I expected. The UI is gorgeous and easy to navigate. The setup is easy and relatively quick. What I like most is the weekly AI reviews of my accounts and investments, as they're really insightful.

I really like the budgeting and forecasting functions of the Origin system. I’ve used many other apps including Mint, Empower, etc and this is by far the cleanest and easiest to navigate. Looking forward to seeing what the AI functions can assist with.

This app took less time to setup than Monarch and does a lot more than Monarch does. The AI feature is actually very helpful and brings up relevant information to my financial situation.

Overall I do really like this app I think the view is easy to use. The one thing is that I can’t connect my investments for some reason so that part would be cool but overall budgeting it’s great.

Original has honestly made my life so much easier. The app is super clean and easy to use, but the real standout is the AI. It instantly picked up all my subscriptions and upcoming bills and organized them in a way that actually makes sense. I didn’t realize how many random charges I had floating around until this app pointed them out. Being able to link all of my credit cards, banks AND even things like CashApp makes this product so unique!! It feels like having a smart, calm assistant in my pocket keeping everything on track. Origin is one of the better “all-in-one” apps I’ve seen — especially for someone who wants more than budgeting: net worth tracking, investment and savings management, and even optional financial advice. The convenience of having all accounts in one place, automatic categorization and a clean UI makes it a strong contender for replacing multiple apps. However, if your goal is strictly simple budgeting or expense tracking, a lighter-weight, cheaper (or free) option might be a better fit; you pay for a lot of features you may not need. Overall: worth trying — especially during the free trial — if you want a consolidated financial dashboard. If it matches how you manage money, it could simplify your finances and reduce app-overload, but if you’re picky about budgeting detail or cost, you might find it a bit heavy-handed.

All the features and granularity offered are very robust and functional. However, the manual account balances do not update based on added transactions. Otherwise, solid app for budgeting and tracking spending. Portfolio insights seem to be on par as well. I haven’t fully utilized the forecasting feature so I cannot comment on it.

I really enjoy using the app and find it very useful for tracking expenses. My biggest problem is that the transactions don’t show up as spent items until they’ve posted and gotten past the pending stage. Meaning they don’t show up until multiple days after you spent your money on the item. Other apps I’ve used show the money spent when the purchase has been authorized. Which is preferable since it’s actually accurate to the day of the purchase

I love it it helps me look at my monthly spending as a student who works and helps manage my spending and net-worth and my investments I was able to cut off spending where it wasn’t needed the Ai feature helps give basic help give advice to your own spending and budget. This app is the real deal. I’ve been honestly playing with it for the last couple hours and it’s such a well put together and thought of app like wow! So so amazing and it’s truly a game changer! For $1 it definitely captured me and now that I’m in it I’m like wow this is some impressive stuff. Weeks after I started using this app I had several issues with fraud with multiple account’s having unknown withdrawals of thousands of dollars. I DO NOT say that is app caused it with 100% but there is a correlation and it was the only thing I changed regarding any of my finances.

Tried monarch and used to be a fan of Mint when it was a thing - this is by far the best budgeting app I have seen. The forecasting, quick connections, and easy usability without having to do a bunch of work is amazing. I spent 3-4 hours trying to get my Monarch set up right and Origin was just accurate from day 1. The AI advisor is super super helpful to answer specific questions tailored from your financial data without having to punch it all into ChatGPT. Have referred this app to everyone I know.

Neat concept and has some cool features but missing necessary things to make it a truly powerful all in one tool: - Backdoor and mega backdoor Roth conversions - RSUs being front loaded or backloaded (only supports even splits) - Directly associating RSU grants with your investment account - Associating outgoing transactions with accounts like your mortgage or other loans. Also, this AI thing needs some work. It thinks if you pay a bunch of money into your home to build some up front equity that those are your “expenses” and so it projects negative millions of dollars net worth in retirement. This is kind of a joke in its current state.

It’s a well-thought out and well-built app that is meant to give you a broad view of your finance from spending to investments and stock equities. However, like many other personal finance apps that don’t really meet customers” needs, it fails to give you the tools to plan/project your spending and cash flow in the short term, i.e. weeks to months. The app shows your upcoming transactions but only shows daily totals for two weeks at a time- no impact on cash flow. Meanwhile, a lot of us shopping around for personal finance apps are trying to answer the question “based on my planned future bills, transactions and expected income, how can I adjust my monthly outgoing transfers to savings to keep my checking account balance positive?”. Another important thing I don’t like about the app is that it’s always locked in landscape view on an iPad!!! I really don’t like being forced to using apps in landscape mode, not everyone uses landscape mode all the time. I don’t understand why developers continue to do this, if it’s because of space then give users the option of moving the sidebar away in portrait mode.

I’ve been using Rocket but have always been disappointed by several limitations - not to mention the inability to sync Apple Wallet. Origin fixes all of that. Origin has been a key feature in my financial refresh as I head into 2026.

I recently moved from CoPilot Money to Origin Financial and it has been a great decision. The app is extremely customizable yet still simple to use. I love how easy it is to adjust categories and personalize everything. The AI features are a big help too. I can just ask questions instead of searching through transactions manually. The rules section is another major improvement. CoPilot doesn’t let you see or edit the rules without contacting support, but Origin shows them clearly and gives you full control. Overall, I’m really impressed and enjoying Origin Financial. It feels like a smarter, more flexible tool for managing money.

Original is the number 1 budgeting app out there. It’s allowed my wife and I to communicate on finances and monthly budget more effectively. We can easily plan the future month, and have clarity on our risk profile and the future forecast we’re set up for. The user experience is exceptional. So , I jumped on the train because of the hype for this app. It’s pretty neat , and the AI seems legit , NOW , BiG draw for me , if you busy and you don’t answer after a short time , the app lock you out and then … there is no record of the conversation with advices from the AI . For me that’s big ! If they fix that so the AI can learn from the conversations and get back to it if need it I’ll give this app 5 stars

This app is great. Very intuitive, and unlike others, it never has connection or refresh issues. A lot of apps try to do too much and end up with mediocre features, but Origin keeps things simple and executes them well. I do have one suggestion: under Recurring → Frequency, could you add the monthly total alongside the annual total? For example, in the monthly recurring expenses view, it currently shows “$xx,xxx per year.” It would be incredibly helpful if it also displayed the “$x,xxx per month” amount. Showing the monthly sum in the monthly view feels intuitive and would make the experience even better. That’s the only thing keeping this from being perfect.

This app is exactly what I needed. Pulling all my information into one space is great but I am running so many scenarios with the retirement scenario, it just keeps adding to my confidence about my financial plans overall.

I have a good manual finance tracking, and I was looking for something more automatic. So the trial and so far it’s been worth it. Wanting nation wide to connect and so far the adjustable budget is great!

Been using this for a couple months now and I absolutely love it. There was a time where I was putting in our mortgage and wasn’t active for a few minutes a had to start over so that was a little annoying but other than that, it’s great!

I really love this app for the AI chat. It would be 5 stars from me but the chat currently scrolls me to the top of it if i exit it. I'd rather have it scroll me to the bottom of an old thread. Also sometimes the agent will generate and it will show as generating and get stuck there and I'll have to exit the thread in order to load the answer. So now I gotta exit the thread, get back into the thread, and then scroll all the way down. And sometimes it didn't even generate ? Maybe because I exited too early? I think a good UX would be to emulate chatGPT here a bit in the sense that it can run queries for you in the background after you fire them. And then sends you a notification once that's finished and then I can just go straight to my answer. Hope this was helpful for the devs & designers. Again, really love the AI functionality here. But maybe hire better or more mobile devs / designers.

The app itself is pretty good and has some interesting AI features to help you organize, understand, and make decisions on your raw financial information — I’d say it’s around a 2024 version of chatgpt. My big problem is the AI assistant can’t take any actions or do anything outside the text box. For example, I asked it to identify all transactions that follow X rules and update them to be a different category. Or, I asked it to make me new budgets based on some new assumptions and it can write it out, but not update anything in the app — making it the same level of helpful as a non-AI app. I want an agent to manage the app for me based on my comments and feedback and data — not just another textbox. Will check back in a year.

I’ve been waiting for this app. I’ve researched many in the past, but I wasn’t impressed with any until now. The first day I downloaded Origin, I was enamored by the elegant and intuitive CX, and was excited to give it a test drive. It was easy to connect all my accounts and I used the AI advisor to help me with any questions I had regarding inputs. I was up until 3am the next day testing the AI advisor features and asking financial projection questions. Looking forward to more with Origin and most importantly, seeing the results!!!

I was skeptical of it at the beginning ngl, but it was a 1 dollar offer for a whole year so I said f* it let’s try it, when I tell you this app really has flipped around my whole situation. It’s so useful having everything together in one app that knows your finances and money habits without the need of you explaining and putting every single detail by hand, it helps you plan for a better future and take better decisions. I really recommend this app

Import errs out constantly if you try to create a category while importing to map your transactions. Pending entries remain after entries have been processed. Key features like managing your categories and creating rules and other settings are scattered and embedded 2 layers deep in various sections instead of being placed in the main options menu. Slick look and feel that neglected usability. Support responds fast, is not helpful, and does not follow through. Using Zendesk but didn’t give me a reference or email acknowledgement of an issue that had to go to engineering. Returned to my app the next day and found the pending transactions were marked “hidden”. Gather someone probably debugged or pushed a workaround live in my data!! Seriously! Cannot recommend until they truly mature more as an app as well as a practice!

I downloaded this app using the $1 promo for the first year ($99 yearly). I currently have Credit Karma (CK) installed and have been using that app since it’s free. The UI is much cleaner on Origin and simpler to view. The rule adding, tag feature, etc are far simpler to use and figure out on Origin as well for tracking expenses. I’ve also noticed that my institution / card connections are not always disconnecting — there always seems to be an issue for one of them every time I check CK. I also love the Sankey view, something you don’t get with any of the free apps out there. Another feature that I like is to be able to add people to your reports. I just got married last week and my wife and I can view combined accounts, separately, and everything between.

I’ve tried out so many of these financial trackers and I have to say, Origin seems like the easiest and most feature-rich so far. The ease of connecting accounts and then the immediate analysis is great. Excited to see how the long-term planning functions work out.

I’ve tried the top 4 expense apps and finally came across one that beats them all. Great UI and has all the features of a finance app from investment tracking to expense tracking.

I wanted to like this app but it’s definitely not ready for prime time yet. It needs a lot more work. About 25% to 30% of my credit card transactions were categorized incorrectly as a Transfer so they weren’t included in my expenses. There is no good way to fix this except to create a rule for each one, which is tedious due to the high number of incorrect categorizations. I tried to email the support but crickets. Glad it was only $1. I guess I got what I paid for. Back to Simplifi. They at least can categorize my credit transactions correctly.

Tried several different apps for tracking spending, budgeting and financial planning, and Origin is hands down the most effective, efficient and flexible that I’ve used so far.

Not that great there are better options out there for tracking debts manually. If I make a payment on a manual debt it should be reduced. I shouldn’t have to reduce each one because they are not compatible with plaid.

I’ve been through the personal finance carousel: YNAB first, then nearly two years on Monarch, a brief stop at Copilot, and now I’ve landed on Origin. After using all of them long enough to see the cracks, the shine, and the real differences, here’s the bottom line: Origin is the most ambitious product in the space right now, but it’s not perfect. Functionally, Origin and Monarch share most of the same foundational features. You can link every account imaginable, track your net worth across cash, stocks (however I was not able to link my public brokerage in Monarch), crypto, real estate. Both give you clean analytics and enough charts to make you feel productive. Where Origin starts to separate itself is scope. It lets you invest directly in the app and even set up an estate plan or trust. Monarch doesn’t touch this territory. Origin clearly wants to be the full stack of your financial life, not just a budgeting tool. Like myself, I’m not sure if most people will switch their brokerage. But in an ideal world it would be nice to have everything all on one platform. The real story, though, is AI. Most companies are going to bolt AI onto their product like a hood ornament and call it innovation. Origin actually built around it. The AI is connected to all your data, and because of that, it gives advice that isn’t generic. I’ve run some of the recommendations by friends who work in personal finance, and the accuracy is surprisingly strong. The daily market updates and long-term forecasting tools are genuinely useful, and something I’m finding myself going back to. Could it be even more tailored to your specific investing philosophy? Absolutely. But Origin is miles ahead of the competition here, and they shipped something that doesn’t feel rushed even though they clearly rushed to be first. Design-wise, Origin feels modern and premium, while Monarch is clean but a bit more traditional. My only gripe is that some of Origin’s most-used features feel buried under extra menus. It’s hard to tell whether that’s because the layout itself is less intuitive or because I’m simply conditioned from years of using Monarch, but either way, it slows you down. If Origin lets users customize their dashboard or pull high-use items to the surface, that friction could go away. Now for the part they need to fix. Origin doesn’t let you change or remove their built-in categories (at least I wasn’t able to). Once you add your own custom categories, the list becomes long and disorganized. Categorizing transactions takes more time than it should, and Monarch handles this far better. Editing, hiding, and reordering categories shouldn’t be optional in a premium finance app—it should be table stakes. And here’s one more thing I wish Origin offered: a budgeting mode similar to YNAB. I have variable income, and budgeting based on money I actually have, not money I expect to receive, is simply more realistic. YNAB’s “assign every dollar” approach shines for people who don’t have predictable paychecks. If Origin added an optional YNAB-style budgeting method, it would solve one of the biggest blind spots in their otherwise comprehensive platform. Final take: Origin feels like the future. Monarch is steady and familiar; Origin is where the industry is heading. If they clean up categories and introduce a YNAB-style budgeting option, they’ll be the dominant player in this space. As it stands, it’s still the strongest overall option if you want automation, modern design, and legitimately useful AI instead of marketing fluff.

Have used just about every finance app out there. Monarch, copilot, ynab and this blows them away. The AI is a game changer.

The app got a lot of good features. While most financial institutions offer their own consolidated and financial planning tools, they often fall short of what I needed so I have resorted to using my own spreadsheets and manually updating them regularly. I was hoping Origin will eliminate that, but unfortunately it’s still not a very mature product. For one thing it is buggy in many places and hence I can’t fully trust it. It is also rather simplistic in how it deals with budgeting and expenses. There’s little to no room for actual customization. Also, as a an already retired person, I found the app to completely ignore my situation (for example it keeps making irrelevant suggestions.) In summary, the app has potential but for now, I’m still relying on my spreadsheets.

Looks good but the app launches a white blank screen and the web app doesn’t import my IRA investments. Just gives a top line number. Support is out to lunch.

Finally an app with APIs to connect all my banks and accounts seamlessly. Reliable real time updates that make the app a one stop shop to review my finances and goals. Couldn’t be happier with Origin!!

The app can’t link your mortgage do your home, requiring tons of manual input.

I have greatly enjoyed having a seamless budget system connected to my accounts.

I’m impressed by the UI. I have made several attempts to connect the same systems with a FA and it never worked. Glad to see this app has made things easier for managing finances and budgeting.

I did not know what to expect, I thought it was going to be as limited as the other budget apps, but it really locked in and allow linking accounts that aren’t available on other budget apps! Cash App being a big one. Now if they brought back manually entering the Account Number and RN (Routing Number) manual connection, that would fix the rest of the other accounts; I have a Credit account with Cash App, and a Savings Account with them too; But I can’t seem to link those; Only the Bitcoin and Cash; but 4 stars for being able to even connect Cash App alone and other accounts that aren’t accepted in other APPS. If y’all figure that out, 5 stars for sure. Also I was trying to connect my E*TRADE account but I was able to manually connect that one so easy fix

I paid for it once, I paid for it again, and I am still having difficulty adding my banks to the app to be able to use it efficiently

The app may be fine, but the onboarding experience is bad. It already has all my Plaid accounts listed but it keeps asking me to pick them one at a time over and over. I chose to onboard Robinhood, then it makes me pick again from a list. When it’s syncing the account I have to wait and can’t put in the background. It asked me for a review before I had even done anything. I’m not sure the PMs on this have even tried signing up as a new user. I’m just going to stick with a different app as getting started was so bad.

I love the fact that you can also add rules and label any transactions so it makes sense to you

Great budgeting and AI tool but futures needs some work

I’ve used a lot of budget apps and most of them are only good at budgets but Origin is much more. It does that part great but the real value is in the AI, forecasting, investments, that really help you grow your wealth and plan for the future rather than just tracking where your money is growing. I love it.

I linked all my accounts and had everything set up and it kept asking me to link my accounts. When I went to link them again, they were already live and “working.”

I’m enjoying it. Still a few cards I havent been able to link. Has given me an interesting perspective on my spending. UI is solid

It’s very satisfying to use, and the AI integration is quite useful. I love the Sankey view. I rarely write reviews, was compelled in this case.

The app has been really easy to navigate through and setup all financial tracking. I’m just getting started but it has already been sending me updates and creating a good budget for me!

I’ve used YNAB, EveryDollar, Mint, and other budgeting apps — but it’s nice to have AI insights and help when I grow weary of the daily budgeting grind. The AI insights are a welcomed addition to keeping track of our overall financial health. I did have to unhide some transactions/payments that were wrongfully marked as “account transfers.” But overall I’m eager to see how the AI tools enhance my budget and financial foresight.

So far this app has helped me see all the money I have and spend in all my different financial apps. It’s nice to see it all in one place, truly best app you can buy!

Great app

It’s a bit different from the other app. My favorite part is the integrated AI that I can ask for advice about budgeting and other financial topics. It can also look at your transactions and tell you where you’re spending too much.

Great design, metrics and easy to understand. Love the ai features and finally understanding my finances.

What I can say honestly about this app is that it is very helpful. I didn’t have a plan or an idea on where to start, but origin has plans and info that you can use to save more and create a budget that works best for you. Keeps track of all habits as well and i recommend !

Very easy onboarding and great value. The AI features are very impressive, and I can’t wait to try filing taxes. The forecasting feature is a little shakey - it is missing some fidelity that makes it tough to trust. The expenses didn’t seem to have auto-deduplicating, which is a shame (same Venmo expense shows up twice, once in Venmo and once in Checking, for example). But these are fairly minor issues, and you can’t beat the price!

I tried so many other tracking apps, nothing comes close to Origin! I really live the Cash Account!

I’ve tried quite a few similar financial apps and Origin is the only one that has integration for all of my accounts in a layout I really enjoy; it’s very easy to keep track of all of my finances and the chat helps to get more understanding in topics I’m less acquainted with (such as investing).

Once I saw that AI features actually existed in a budget app, I decided to take the leap. Not only does it have great AI features, but plenty of quality-of-life features to make it holistically helpful in my wealth-building journey.

Overall, I like the concept of this app. I do find it a bit busy and clunky, but as with any app, it will get better over time. The AI advice has given me three big mistakes: in the forecasts, it incorrectly started my RMDs at 73 (it’s 75 for me), told me I could tax loss harvest a mutual fund in my IRA (TLH is only useful in non-retirement accounts), and missed a huge solo 401k contribution and grossly overestimated my taxes. These are some pretty big errors, so please verify this with an actual human CFP as the disclaimer says. But hey, for $1, I figured the AI part was going to be wrong.

The anxiety and panic were real. I’d heard countless financial experts say I needed a budget, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t make one that worked. Budgets are living things that change every month, and that alone felt overwhelming. On top of that, I had recurring charges across multiple accounts, which made things even harder to manage. Then I saw an ad on Instagram for Origin to try it for $1 for an entire year. I couldn’t pass that up. From the moment I started using it, I was hooked. The interface is clean, intuitive, and beautifully designed. Once I linked my accounts, Origin automatically categorized my transactions, which saved me so much time. I added a few custom categories, but I love that it comes with solid defaults. The suggested budget feature blew me away. The app analyzes your spending and creates a realistic budget that actually makes sense. No more guesswork or spreadsheets. The only small issue I’ve noticed is that I can’t change a transaction’s category while it’s still pending. It’s minor, but I do hope the developers fix it soon. My favorite feature by far is Recurring Charges. Being able to see upcoming payments helps me prepare for the week ahead and avoid surprises. The AI assistant is another highlight. It summarizes my portfolio weekly and even answers personal finance questions with helpful insights and tools. Overall, I’m thrilled I gave Origin a try. It has completely changed how I feel about money management. I actually enjoy tracking my finances now, and my husband uses it too. I can’t imagine managing my finances without it. If you’ve ever struggled to budget or felt overwhelmed by your money, I highly recommend Origin. It makes financial clarity not just possible but enjoyable.

It houses all your accounts fine. But I don’t find AI to be very insightful. Nor does it track things like 0% balances. Understanding what accounts have the most consequential interest would be nice.

Im willing to change my review because I like the idea of the app. I just don’t like when I try to edit amount shares or crypto in an account, they don’t always save. It kind of defeats the purpose of an app that tracks your net worth if it can save what you add. I’ll try this app a bit more but if things don’t get better I’m switching to copilot.

This is a combo of other tools I’ve used. Spending budgets, recurring payments and Investments all in one place. And having AI able to analyze the data. I’d give it five stars if they can support Apple Card Goldman sachs account. Like some other limited tools do. That would be set it apart. Please implement.

This app has made my life so much easier. I can manage my family’s finances all in one place, keeping an eye on transactions and our investment progress. I have included my children’s accounts that I am steward for, which makes life so much easier. I used to do this all in Excel and I cannot imagine going back to that now. The AI chat feature is also great to bounce ideas off of!

This is a nice app, although it doesn't do anything that a hundred other account tracking apps do. The biggest challenge with it is it doesn't support a lot of banks. Or maybe it's just credit unions. I bank at Pentagon Federal and can't connect with Origin, so this app is useless to me.

I love how the app breaks down your daily spend and how much was spent over the last seven days. Extremely helpful.

It’s a great app for tracking your net worth as well as budgeting. I like their AI feature as well to help me go over projections and Monte Carlo analysis simulations.

This app is so beyond any budgeting app I’ve used. And budgeting is just the tip of the iceberg. The insights it gives you into your spending, market activity, and net worth forecasting are astounding. I’m married with five kids and this really helps my wife and I stay on top of our spending and financial goals. You should 100% try it.

There is a pop up to buy premium for $1 for the first year cool deal but I don’t want it. It won’t let me click the X or access the app. Can’t close the pop up or anything tried force closing the app multiple times every time I click the X it opens it up to purchase. Not sure if this is intentional but it sure is annoying.

I’ve used a few methods/applications for tracking my net worth and inflows/outflows of cash over the years. Nothing has looked as nice as Origin and none have made a system as intuitive and useful as Origin. Previous apps show very basic charts and breakdowns but Origin clearly shows you what’s going on, not to mention you can ask AI within the app to explain the picture with greater detail. Great app, glad I discovered it!
