This app is awesome

I had written a review before about bringing back this feature. I’m SO HAPPY to see it back (and better). This was single-handily the feature that helped me progress financially! Now, I can even modify to my goals like saving aggressively with the 40/30/30 or rebuilding with the 70/20/10! AND I find my accounts aren’t being kicked out anymore. Thank you NERD Wallet! I’m a happy customer again!

Tried to add my finance info and it keeps having problems logging in. So it made me think it’s a scam app, they ask you for ssn and accounts. I get it. But when it’s bouncing back it means someone in regulations put a plug on adding new stuff because money and info have been stoked and resold. Bunch of screens that are useless. You see more ads than your actual info. Tried to check my score it stayed on the same screen for 4 times and I gave up. Thanks, but NO. They lure you in by not asking for a subscription, but I’d rather pay a small fee and have a reliable dealer than shady app that does nothing.

Used to be a great app but (1) my Interactive Brokers won’t update (has been 7 days…), and there’s no clear way for me to delete it & re-add it and (2) I can’t delete certain accounts.

Convenient

I never leave reviews but this one is an exception. This app is genuinely the biggest pile of garbage ever made by humanity. A random intern can come up with a better UX. The user journey is a labyrinth, all screen space is occupied by 90% and 10% useful information. It’s as if the whole app was made by a team of 10 program managers all competing for scope. U need to click like 7 different parts of the screen before u see any spending breakdown… this app has “news” section given more priority than your budget. Additionally: - It counts between account transfers as income. - Breakdowns only go as far as a couple of months back - Which Genius came up with the idea that I ever want to see all transactions as a list - Have some shame showing “beta” features. - Who needs their net worth on the first page? The same customer profile who requires this low iq needs/wants breakdown?

Phone turns into a hand warmer after launching and until it’s force quit. Unable to reliably switch between tabs or view accounts since the last couple updates.

Removed the only reason I downloaded this app. For a budgeting option. And then put in some garbage news stories and investment tab nobody asked for. Edit: nice they added it back, too bad I moved on to rocket money

I started with NerdWallet about five months ago was totally ignorant on investing and actually done some advisor investing and turned out that I profited $2000 in three months and I am so glad I chose

Every time I take an action for 5 mins in the app, I get the little frog saying that something went wrong. The bugs are increasing. It’s becoming painful to use this app.

I hate the new budget layout - so much so that I am going to look for another app or go back to manual tracking. I need to be able to zoom out across multiple months and years and see how my earning and spending trends across multiple periods with different granularity. Now I can only see spend for each month or YTD and it completely removed the income view.

I was looking for something that could help me organize all my finances in one place and found this through social media

I use this app mainly to keep up with my overall net-worth. It takes awhile to update so it’s not completely accurate but, it’s not far off at all. I like it a lot but, it could be better!

Basically since I started using it now it’s become a loan tracker. With ads and ads for loans, credit cards, and insurance. Tells me very little about my actual finances anymore.

I love it

Overall this app makes tracking and monitoring my spending, income, debts and more so quick and easy. They’re able to integrate with so many companies, even local ones. There’s options to manually add accounts and debts, even if they’re not associated with a company, to see the overall picture. The only thing that I’d like changed is the option to manually add categories to the spending tracking, because it’s limited so many of my typical purchases have to be lumped together under categories that don’t fully match or under ‘other’ or ‘uncategorized’, so tracking the categories of where my money is being spent each month is somewhat incomplete and inconsistent. They don’t even have a category for credit cards so I have to lump those payments under loans, which is really a completely different thing. And things like buying gifts for people or spending for special occasions is different than shopping. More categories or the option to add my own additional categories for what I spent money on would be extremely helpful so I can get a full picture of what I actually am spending money on each month.

My title says it all, it’s non stop adds. ATOMIC BANK IS AWFUL - stop trying to get me to open an account. Also, the UI on this app used to be a lot better to see more details about your finances. Now you get the most basic views, no budgeting, no nothing and it tries to sell you stuff the whole time. SKIP

After I didn’t use an app for a while I found that all my accounts , properties, cars and etc were erased . It is time consuming to restore all this information.

I’m giving 2 stars because you can actually get a loan through this app, it just will be at an extremely predatory rate. They will also start sending you 3-5 marketing emails a day, and in my case have so far ignored my unsubscribe requests. I suspect they also sold my email address to other spammy, predatory financial services because I started receiving a bunch spam emails after I started using this app. Should be named “FinanceBroWallet” not NerdWallet.

I loved this app and the website when I found it in 2020. It shows me my net worth, my credit score, etc. In the past year or so they have made a lot of changes that all seem to be based on making them a profit rather than serving their customers. Most things I look for on the website are now only on the app. I used their shopping features to find the most beneficial CCs, HYS accounts, etc. but now every single company that is “suggested” says it’s an “Ad.” I just want to take the quiz to see which checking accounts would be best for me now, and I can’t find it on the app. Haven’t looked on the website because it always tells me to go to the app.

The app itself is a cool concept, and I wish it was actually useful. The fact that they advertise it as if you can use it to cancel subscriptions and such is a cool thought with poor execution. Half the buttons on the ScribeUp subscription manager don’t work or generate any real information besides showing you when your subscription will renew. Much like my experience with RocketMoney, this is all show and minimal utility. Especially considering that all the credit card and loan recommendation info from NerdWallet can be found with a quick Google search. Deleting for now, might come back if it ever actually becomes useful. You’re better off making a budget on Google Sheets…

Won’t connect to any of my accounts! Super unhelpful. Can’t use it if it won’t connect. Seems to ‘be having issues’ with MANY institutions.

I love nerd wallet

I have been using this app for quite a few years, but — as others have said — the recent updates/changes have a made the app a little buggy, there still aren’t any widgets, and it still isn’t formatted properly for iPadOS 26. I really hope bug fixes and proper software compatibility are coming very soon… especially since we’re literally coming upon the OS ‘27 announcements in less than two months.

Love that the app is free, taught me so much & helped me start a real savings with some weight to it😭. Thank you NerdWallet for being such an educational and inspirational staple in today’s day & age✝️💚

they will not update your bank when they learn what day your direct deposit is, they skip updates for that week so you have to wait a week to find out if it was deposited!! pure bullying and consumer terrorism‼️#EVIL‼️

I was hesitant because I thought there would be hidden fees,take forever to set up, or just be a pain to use but I had everything I wanted to have done in 20 minutes on my phone. Still haven’t gotten any fees and super easy to use. Promise I’m not a paid person I’m a college student.

I really like it! It helps you see how things are across time and can help you see patterns as they arise across multiple accounts (for example how quickly a check is spent or if your savings are growing over time). My biggest critique though is that I can’t link all my accounts. I contribute a lot to an HSA to save for unexpected medical expenses through HealthEquity. I like doing this, but it is a little bit disheartening when every-time I contribute a large amount of money it looks like a big dip in my net worth. I have to remind myself not to freak out because it is the right move for me, but if I had the option to include that in the calculations that would make the dips more informative

The app is ok, but why they didn’t design it for landscape for the iPad I don’t get. It just feel clunky to only have one orientation for it.

I have loved using NerdWallet for the last few years as their articles have been very informative and the recommendations for savings accounts and credit cards have been helpful. Unfortunately I recently used the app (and only this app) to look into a debt consolidation loan. After going through the usual recommendation process my phone has been spammed with multiple calls a day FOR WEEKS offering me loans. They are clearly scams using AI voices and asking for my account information, unfortunately they are all coming from different numbers so as soon as I block one another starts ringing. I feel like NerdWallet has betrayed my trust and after recommending them to friends and family for years to learn about finances I can no longer recommend that ANYONE use their services.

A must need app. Easy to use. Easy to access. And provides lot of useful information.

The app constantly crashes

Helped me a lot with subscriptions but it isn’t “just one click “ I canceled $50 in subscriptions the first time I logged in

They’re having bank issues with plaid and not issuing any refunds for it. I’ve been having issues since November and I paid for a year. I recommend Monarch.

Too much authentication and codes and textS

I’ve been using this app for a while. But since the last updates this app has become AWFUL BUGGY AND FRUSTRATING AND HORRIBLY SLOW! Also the design has changed so many times that the user experience has been compromised too. I really don’t know what happened to some features but is become totally unusable. I hope the developers and the UX team rethink what they are doing to once a great app. :(

I downloaded this app, found the income classification not what I needed. I attempted to delete and they then inform me that they’ve signed me up for an atomic account which I didn’t authorize. It might have been a bug, but it stopped me from removing my nerdwallet account - if it isn’t a bug, that potentially borders something quite illegal. I’d avoid this app, you could be being signed up for something you didn’t intend.

I check NerdWallet a lot to review changes in cash flow, income, investments etc. But recently there’s been so many changes, it’s like every time I open the app there’s something different and the tabs moved. Now I’m not able to dive into my cash flow in detail or see the % breakdowns. It was great how it was, but now that tab is full of pay-walled ad widgets trying to get me to open an Atomic Invest account.

I assumed an app all about tracking money would have loads of widgets. But it doesn’t even have one? Disappointing. However the app itself is great

It’s OK for a free app, but missing some key features no one has yet to come up with a decent replacement for Mint

Smart money app I received an email from NerdWallet saying that my score has gone up. It went to visit the app. And I realized I had to update my password. I tried that several times. Each time I would get instructions to go to my email. But they never got there what is going on?

UPDATE: While trying to change a category from “Uncategorized” to an appropriate one - there are very limited choices and I can’t make my own. So while this could be a helpful app, there are too many limitations. It doesn’t recognize almost half my credit cards nor my student loan. So it can’t give me an accurate view of my financial status. I get the basics of what it’s trying to and that’s helpful. Plus, while there are several options to link with a calendar, it never connects with any of them. That being said, this will have to go.

I really like the interface but I’m having too many issues when it comes to connecting bank accounts. But everything else it’s really nice.

Can’t simply close account in app- have to do through a stupid automated chat bot which requires a confirmation nonsense and then your email. If I’m trying to close my account let me close my account instead of acting like a godawful scummy gym

It’s never had a lot of functionality in terms of budgeting but it’s become even less useful over time. Like they actively took out the more granular budgeting features and replaced with over broad charts not good for much. mostly good for passively tracking your accounts for issues. Looking for a new way to handle my budgeting

Keep changing basic stuff all the time and every time I need to look and find them all over again

I don’t typically ever write reviews. This app isn’t good in any way shape of form. It gives you a basis that’s really it. I’m not entirely sure how they’re generating reviews or how they’re able to pass app guidelines. You’re unable to delete your account unless you maybe get assistance from a human. It states 24 hours but deleting user accounts or removing card/bank info should be a USERS choice and not something that needs to be negotiated on by a robot or a human. Especially if this is personal information being entered. I’m sure NerdWallet is due for a lawsuit.

Great app that’s not overly complex, or locked behind a paywall. The calendar feature has replaced my old school methods of writing on my calendar, and you can sync it across all your other app calendars. No more missing bill payments or getting caught off guard!

Would 100% switch from current app that I use, but want to link me and my spouses accounts all in one app.

Great for tracking net worth and debt. Great for managing debt and spending.

Please let me tap on "money in" and money out. Please stop making meaningless yet big visual changes. The dark mode of cash flow graph and the rest of the screen is bright - it's not it. Hire qualified designers please.

Forced to download this app because nerdwallet won’t display all my available information if I access it via a web browser. Then I can’t log into the app because it is requesting a one time passcode that was never received.

I'm not sure what they did, but you cannot count on any accuracy in the cash flow section after this latest update. All of my previous months are now completely out of whack with transactions being counted twice, multiple times and throughout multiple categories. It's a complete and total jumbled mess and I do not recommend it until they have addressed this. Extremely disappointing. Do not recommend.

I have to say I’m getting to that point in my life where I’m having to crack down on what I’m spending. I have horrible money habits. Being able to see it in front of my face where my money is going is a life changer. Hopefully I’ll be able to create some good habits from this app. Very thankful.

Love the Net worth format

I’ve loved this app. It’s really helpful to see all my different accounts in a single place. But recently it’s gotten worse. Every time I try to link a new account the app crashes. So, for what I have in it already it’s helpful, but I can’t add anything more.

I have several accounts linked and many of them have not updated in weeks, and there is no option to refresh or update the accounts!! I shouldn’t have to unlink/relink accounts for them to update correctly. Please add a refresh/fix option or build in checks to auto relink when accounts are not updating!!!! This app is useless if my accounts aren’t being updated with zero options to fix it quickly!!

Looks like it could be useful but I can’t get it to load more than one bank account without it crashing

Latest update made it unusable. Basically asks you for a code before logging in and it’s not possible anywhere to get that code, not set up in the Authenticator app. Hope they fix it, it was a good app when one could access it.

Please please please add a function to automatically hide internal transfers from the cash flow calculation. It’s greatly misconstrues how much money is being spent and made.

This app used to be an excellent way to actually budget. The 50/30/20 screen easily allowed you to track spending in different categories. The cash flow screen is not detailed in the same way. The most useful feature of this app is gone!

For a free app this gives me what I need for the most part. Recently I’ve been changing big orders I make with roommates into smaller categories (unfortunately this app doesn’t let you split things up, which would make things so much easier) and then I’ll come back and it resets its self. Or I’ll change the category and it will reset later. It’s frustrating because I’ll have to double check what I did. And I have a hard time remembering how to break up a bigger purchase. To my knowledge it doesn’t have any stats for the year which would be nice. I would like to know exactly how much I spent on everything. There is a section to see your top ten most spent at certain places but that’s it. I think this app is a step from being great. It’s the best free one I can find and do appreciate it even with its flaws.

I used nerd wallet for 7+ years to manage my budget. Recently they removed the cash flow feature that gives a visual chart for spending. It was really the only thing I used the app for, so I have deleted it.

Shows me a 56 point credit drop briefly. Then constantly says ‘ruh roh, we’re having trouble loading this page.’ Really cute. Fix it.

The app used to be fantastic. It was a great way to manage your finances and track spending, with the subscription manager being a standout. Unfortunately they redesigned the app, removed subscription manager (or made it impossible to find), and the app is now riddled with advertisements for services most people don’t want or need. At this point it does nothing my bank app doesn’t already do without shoving credit card pre approvals down my throat. I’d stay far away.

The app used to be super useful to check spending, investments everything. It has been downgraded to a tool that pushes products on consumers, eliminates point system and has become practically useless for everyday activities. Can’t recommend it anymore, unsubbed. Idk who suggested these changes but they should get canned.

Unrecognizable from ~4 years ago when I downloaded. Bottom tabs used to be useful categories like cash flow, debt, and credit score. Now 3/4 tabs are different types of advertising for credit cards or bank accounts, and the info about YOUR accounts are in one long tab. Maybe they’ll release “NerdWallet Classic” and just have the UI from pre-pandemic.

Unlike most people I like that this app only tracks your net worth and does literally nothing else because they removed all the other features but you can’t use it for more than a week because it starts to randomly log you out of your different accounts so you have to always go back in re-sign into plaid and put your account back on to nerd wallet which is so annoying. Nothing seems to be accurate because they will randomly log you out of different accounts. Fix it!!

Every couple weeks my accounts seem to fall off and come back making it highly unreliable for tracking net worth and balances across accounts. Additionally is full of ads for sketchy fintech products in very invasive ways. But I’d take the sus advertising for a reliable budget and net worth app. Pls fix

Stop hiding the transactions. It’s literally the only reason I use this app. Nobody cares about the shop or “learning” section. Will be searching for alternatives. Update: they got rid of the 50/30/20 tool which was the reason I downloaded the app over 2 years ago. I’m out. Will look for a tool that actually cares about customers instead of pushing investments and whatever promos they have.

After recent updates, the app no longer tracks your monthly spending. I used to use the app to track my cash flow each month and I loved the way it would break down your spending into categories. Now all the app does is show the combined total net worth of your accounts?? Literally useless. If I wanted to see how much money I have in my accounts I would use my banking apps. Budgeting functionality is totally gone from the app and it’s full of advertisements for credit cards or third party savings accounts.

Used to be the best place for help articles and had great monthly tracking tools. They’ve removed just about everything and now just sell you financial products. Sigh. The inevitable end for a finance app. Sell more products. Such a shame.

NerdWallet attracted me cuz of my image of an adorable gaggle of super smart nerdy smaller framed men whose intelligent and collective hotness and knowledge would make me enjoy improving my finances. Much to my dismay, no hot nerdy guys are going to be on screen guiding my every financial decision with sound advice that is free from selfish commission seeking salesmanship. That said I am totally hooked. After years using those other credit apps with moderate success , I finally found an app with sponsored partners offering excellent options that actually save tons of money for me and don’t link me up with some newcomer predatory lender whose fees nullify any interest savings completely and render the loans totally useless. Need wallet is different. Their expertly chosen and ethically sourced loan sharks are more like loan goldfish with an abundance of desire to deliver a fair priced loan product that will help uplift you to the next level if you are willing to do the work and use the opportunities need wallet provides. True story.

They removed the only useful part of this app, the budgeting, and now it’s basically just an ad for credit cards. Completely useless.

The most useful feature is gone

The app was great for a while now it’s updated and unusable. I can’t track my finances month by month so what’s the point? Everything is also hard to find and the information it does give you there’s no context with it

Nerd wallet is a super secure and super user friendly app. I enjoy using nerd wallet for my finances and financial decisions. I will continue to use this app.

You HAVE to link your accounts which I don’t trust in this age of hacking. No manual entry at all. And it seems its purpose is to sell you services. I don’t see how this helps budgeting.

It was a great app, then they got rid of the weekly insights feature. That is how you would earn points for checking in with your finances. This along with adding a million ads makes it feel like a completely different app, no longer dedicated to helping a person track their finances. Canceling my membership.

The redesign looks good but NerdWallet removed almost all the meaningful finance tools. The best feature left is the bill management tool is run by another company and NerdWallet removed the 50/30/20 budgeting tool, which was the most practical part of the app and what triggered daily use. NerdWallet feels more like an ad for other services than a real money management tool.

A widget for this app would be great! It would be wonderful to see your net worth at a glance without having to log into the app. Are there any plans for a widget?

NerdWallet has quickly dropped every useful feature to cash out and make money. The website doesn’t even have the useful features I signed up for anymore, like the 50/30/20 split and my net worth… they’ve been replaced by advertising for products they’re hawking like Cash Account, Treasury Account, and Automated Investing Account. What was once a clean and useful interface is just advertising and slop now. I’m disconnecting all my banks.

I really love NerdWallet overall. It’s got way more details and features than Credit Karma (which Mint migrated to). But they recently got rid of the feature in spending that allowed you to compare the timeseries of spending from the given day of the current month and the prior month (or the mean of prior 3 months). This was one of my favorite features for tracking my spending throughout the month, which now they only show in a tiny thumbnail, and you can’t look at it closely or compare other months. I wish they’d bring this back. They also moved “spending” wayyy further down on the main page, making it more annoying to get to. The other main issue with NerdWallet is the lack of realtime or at least initiated refresh. They only refresh about once a day, and when some transactions are pending for several days first it really can delay some changes showing up in your account. But all this aside, I really like the features that NerdWallet has. I just wish they’d allow even more customization and bring back some features I liked.

I was notify about getting help , but it should advertise about getting x amount money given to you it’s a ploy just be honest that your helping people lower interest rates or combine all debt into one really low amount and not make payments every two weeks cuz that’s just a payday loan

I canceled my membership months ago. An unauthorized transaction of $49.00 occurred in my bank account yesterday and there has been no response to my emails to customer support. My fault, I cannot find the cancellation so a word of advice, if you set up a membership with NerdWallet do not connect an account for payment. I am very dissatisfied with their “ no customer service.” And I wasn’t crazy about the app.

I downloaded this as a budget app— what’s the point if the 50/30/20 tracking feature is gone???

Most recent update removed the compare button in the cashflow section. Now you can’t compare your monthly spending with previous months.

Downloaded because they require to see your info (not available on web). 90% having to log in again (via the web), but fails to log me in unless I’m on WiFi. Please fix your app or allow people to see their full data on the web!

Great app for knowing how much cash I have while managing all my credit cards. I think it would be really cool if they let you link services like Draftkings and Fanduel to your net worth

I really liked the app when I first got it but they keep changing it and removing features, moving things around. I mainly use it to track my spending and liked being able to compare spending this month with the last month and average of the last three months. There used to be a feature that you could compare each category with the previous months or easily see the total in a graph fprmaty

They keep redesigning the app but there are fewer and fewer features (like the 50/30/20 breakdown) it is becoming less helpful for budget tracking

Got this when mint disappeared a couple years ago. Thought I’d give the 50-30-20 budget style a try. This was great for that. Tracked spending in categories, helped me stay within the rough boundary and save. Then a couple months ago, the new version came out. Any semblance of budget tracking is gone. Doesn’t even show you your year to date spending. This app has more or less lost all usefulness, I’m pretty sure it just exists to data mine your finances for use in ads. Might as well be adware now.

I got this app for all the budget and bill tracking features. Now those are all gone in favor of tab after tab of trying to sell you investments, finance coaches, and new credit cards. I’d been considering subscribing before the update, now I’m glad I didn’t throw my money away just in time for the product to get bait-and-switched under my nose. 0/10 would definitely not recommend

Got rid of the only features I use this app for and now it’s impossible to navigate

When I first downloaded the app, it was great. The latest update completely ruined the app. I paid $50 a year so it could track my bills and subscriptions. Now, I can't find that feature for the life of me. I found it hidden somewhere a few weeks back, but now it seems to be gone. The new update focused more on trying to sell you things than helping you organize your finances.

This app keeps having issues with linking accounts, not impressed. Waist of time!

This app is so helpful in seeing my financials all in one place. I also love the newest look and interface. Only complaint is why can’t I connect to AidVantage anymore to see my student debt?

Don’t get me wrong, I love this app, but the functionality with linking loan and credit accounts needs work. The workaround is to manually enter balances every time they change. Which I’ll admit, keeps you more on top of your finances but seems to defeat the purpose of the app, which is supposed to be an all in one finance app that keeps track so you don’t have to. I am a NerdWallet+ member, which at the $50/year price point is pushing it, but the app makes up for it with the rewards system. Great app and concept, and actually performs better than most finance apps I’ve tried, but still needs work to be a viable finance tracking option.

NerdWallet has become insufferable to navigate. The layout is confusing and has taken away features like the bill tracker feature. Most of the layout is just ads to pay for all types of different premium features and accounts. NerdWallet has gone down hill in terms of tracking your own budgeting and account tracking. When they first started it was simple, clean and honest with providing you simple analytics about your finances and now they have taken away so much. The only thing that still holds up on the education resources but that’s about it.

This app was five stars until the last update when they got rid of the budgeting tools. Now I don’t use it nearly as much and it feels like a waste. I can still see my recent transactions but since it’s so slow to update with my bank/credit cards, it’s easier for me to just check my bank apps for more reliable information on my current transactions and balances. The articles and recommendations aren’t that helpful because I’m not always looking for a new credit card or loan or something, I just want the app to help me budget/plan and show me what my finances look like right now

I enjoy the net worth view because it’s intuitive, but the whole reason why I used NerdWallet was just taken away in version 14 (budgeting by 50/30/20).

The verification code isn’t sending to my phone. Seems like a waste of time anyways when I have a password for it all yet without the code there is no way to get into the app so deleted and will find another budgeting app.

Before the update I used this app daily to track my budget and bills. Now I just deleted it because it’s so pointless now. First Mint now NerdWallet. If yall don’t want to help people manage their money then stay out of the financial space!

Recent update got rid of all the budgeting tools that I originally downloaded the app for. If anyone has recommendations for alternative budgeting apps let me know.

For awhile this has been my go to app to budget and track my spending. As of recently they decided to remove the core budgeting function that allowed you to see how much you spend per month, your categories of spending, as well as where it falls in the 50/30/20 budgeting rule. I don’t understand why all of this would be removed. You’re still able to see how your net worth, cash reserves etc change over time but the removal of the previously mentioned tools really degrades the usefulness of this app.

Nothing but issues since last update

I LOVED this app for the longest time, but their newest update removed the main features of the app that drew in me in the first place. The budgeting tools were the best part of the app, and were what made me devoted to using it. By removing the 50/30/20 feature, you took away a large majority of your normal, average consumer’s reason for use of your app. I’m sad to have to remove this app from a daily part of my life, but now there’s just no reason for me to have it any more. I’d come back the minute they bring back the 50/30/20.

Bring this back!!!! This was my main way of tracking my bills!

Used the app religiously with the 50/30/20 calculator, they removed it for no reason now it’s impossible to track spending that way. Now you’re going in blind for the month. There’s literally no need for this now it just tells you what you’ve spent your money on. I already have my bank apps why would I now need this?

Very disappointed they took away the most helpful tool of the app- the budgeting tool. It was very helpful to have an app that broke down my spending by category and calculate the percentage of each category. Now that it's gone I deleted my account and app, will have to use another app. Smh

This is the first time I have cared to review an app in probably 10 years. With that, I would give this no stars if I could. Removing the bills feature and 50/30/20 overview makes the app completely worthless. These were 2 of the MAIN functionalities and reason to have this app. Whoever was behind this decision was clearly not thinking, and the excuses for their removal are an absolute joke. It’s really unfortunate but I will now have to find another budgeting and financial management app.

Loving it!

I’ve had the app since March 2024. It was the best app, despite not connecting to some HYSAs or Retirement accounts. It really helped me get out of debt and build my net worth. The new update is garbage. Completely useless compared to former iterations. I really don’t want to switch but I have no choice as it does barely a quarter of what it used to. Excel sheets would be a better option at this point.

I loved using this app so much but now they changed it so much it just feels like one big ad for credit cards. It lost all of the widgets that I used on a daily basis. Off to find a new app for budgeting and managing my finances

I had everything set up perfectly in NerdWallet. I could track my spending, categorize every transaction, and see upcoming bills for the month — it was a powerful tool that helped me budget wisely. Then the latest update came along and removed all of that functionality without warning. For over a year, I diligently accounted for every transaction in the past 2 years. All of that effort? Gone. My transaction history, categories, budgeting tools — wiped out. Even the net worth calculation is now broken. If this was done in an attempt to monetize what used to be basic, essential functionality, then beware: using this app is only useful until they decide to do it again. This update didn’t improve the app — it made it unusable for serious financial tracking. I’m extremely disappointed and will be looking elsewhere unless they reverse this decision

With every update it gets worse. Now my net worth isn’t calculating properly (not factoring in all of my properties), and you got rid of my most used features (50/30/20 and bills). It is clear you just want to sell us things and took away all useful tools. I will have to look for a new money mgmt app.

They removed “upcoming bills” I had everything set up in there and it was a great way of knowing when to cancel or save enough money for the bills. Now it’s a glorified credit score shower. And it’s not accurate.

Removed budget features (cashflow, etc), which is the only reason anyone uses this app.

The new update erased all of my manual investment accounts and screwed up my loan data. I’m not going to re-add them all just for the app to break them again in another future update. It was fine how it was—the new update looks pretty but is functionally worse than the old version. I already wanted to uninstall because of the increasing number of ads but this was the last straw.

The only feature I used was removed. It’s been replaced with more ways for Nerd Wallet to earn commissions off people connecting with other financial advisors like Atomic. I can’t monitor my expenses the way I want and can only view total spending or broken out categories vs needs/wants/savings. Will have to look for a different budgeting app that isn’t prioritizing promoting other services.

Disappointed. I use the upcoming bills to keep track of my bills and nerd wallet just took it away without warning. Please bring this feature back or I’m deleting

They removed the bill feature from the app which was one of its most useful tools. I don’t know if I will continue to use the app without this.

Sadly, 50% of the usefulness of this app has been removed by the developers. I only used this app for the bill tracking, and net worth. So far I still have that, but who knows how long before they will delete that too… so lame. It states on the app information, “Track, Save & Invest.” Bills are inescapable expenditures that need to be tracked for proper money management, saving and investing…come on NerdWallet!!

After the update I lost all of my net worth data up to a years worth. Now I have to restart

They took away the free money tracking portion of the app which is the only reason why I even used the app. So I deleted my account with them and deleted the app. The app isn’t useful anymore since the most important feature is gone.

They used to be able to keep track of my upcoming bills but they have changed the app completely!! It is now a version of keeping up with your network. Not happy abt this change.

Constant banking reconnect issues then with the update they take away the bill tracking feature.

I used to love this app, but they recently removed the bill tracking feature, without proper notice. I can’t access the information anymore, so I have to manually track down all of that information again as I migrate to a new app. The lack of communication during this transition, and the loss of a key feature has led me to close my account and delete the app. From what I’ve read on message boards, I’m not alone in my frustrations, and many others have expressed that they too will be deleting the app.

I’ve been using the app for probably the last year now and have really like the bill tracking. As of the last update, it’s just gone, all my dates that I pay bills on, how much, all of it. This is the only reason I have the app so now it’s gone. Even with the last several updates, the app with crash if it takes more than a couple seconds to load the page so without the upcoming bills section, this app is useless.

They randomly delete features of the app without any warning, causing you to lose a bunch of your data and information you rely on. This app/company is unreliable and I wouldn’t trust them with any of your information, especially not anything you count on.

I can no longer change balances for previous existing manually managed accounts for net worth. They don’t even appear in list of accounts but balances are added to net worth.

They just got rid of one of the most important aspects of tracking your finances - tracking your bills. One of the most basic things. The only reason I even had NerdWallet was because of the bill tracking and monthly spending. This was a great feature and a great reason for me to have this app, but I won’t be using it here on. It’s that handy to have.

I just went to check off what bills we paid since I’m getting paid / budgeting tomorrow and my favorite feature is gone. I’ve been using this to track my bills for a couple years and now all of a the dates and upcoming random bill reminders (like tuition due dates) are gone. I used the app multiple times every week for this specific feature. Super disappointed. Now my budgeting is going to take forever tomorrow because I have to figure out what I’m missing and hope I don’t miss a deadline :(

LOVED this app and website. It helped me fix my finances. A key portion of this was the website. Now that they are degrading web service to prioritize the app, it is not good. I can’t see the charts. There were portions of the app that were only valuable via web simply due to how small a phone is. Oh well. Rocket money it is.

I had everything I needed set and scheduled with this feature, then I login and ALL my bills are gone and the app is trying to go to this automated format which is mostly inaccurate and doesn’t work the way it should. Anyway point is they removed the most helpful feature and I uninstalled the app and will never use again.

Overall it’s a great app, it just really needs an option to manually refresh accounts.

Horrible and dysfunctional in my experience on day one. Categorizing mortgage as entertainment and showing a blank page when trying to change this category.

This does not provide me helpful information. I’m not sure if I set it up wrong or something, but I have both a savings and checking account in here, and when I transfer money from one to the other, it counts that as income, even though my net has not changed. This makes my net flow pretty meaningless. The same thing was happening when I had my credit card connected; it would count payments to the company as income instead of payments. Seem like pretty bread and butter functions for a budgeting app, but I can’t find any way to override or customize it.

App and site are complete trash. Login creation page just goes in loops asking you to create a login and then after you create it says credentials doesn’t exist even after email verification. Such garbage. But thanks for putting my info on your useless mailing lists.

I receive occasional emails from NerdWallet about status updates regarding my financial profile, which is welcomed, but when I click the links in these emails it launches this app and this app frequently logs me out of my account so I have to sign back in each time. Got frustrated with it and unsubscribed from NerdWallet emails and deleted the app. Other financial apps don’t do this nearly as often as NerdWallet does.

There are some useful features of the app. Steer clear of the Treasury account. A total rip off as you need to time withdrawals to the day they mature and even then, given the delays in taking money out, and the complexity of matching every dollar to the account it was sourced from is ridiculous. Almost no way you will get the advertised APY and even that is gross off fees. Avoid this feature.

My PayPal savings balance is missing but it magically got my interest received. I need a service that links all my accounts properly

I have tried downloading and utilizing this app twice now, each time I try to add in my accounts it says error constantly and nothing can be feeded in. Highly annoying to have a feature that does not even work to use

I’ll never forgive intuit for killing Mint and forcing this garbage app on us. Terrible product from an even worse company.

I am not able to deposit my money with my bank account. I have not received a email back from nerd wallet to figured out what is wrong.

Used to show you age of accounts, number of accounts open, payments, etc… now shows you nothing except finance articles and card offers and tries to upsell you a subscription. NO actual information about my credit whatsoever. Closing my account.

I’ve been using the smart money app for a couple years now and have really loved it as a budget tracker. But for the love of god PLEASE find another place for the “Apply to all from this place”. Too many times I’ve been categorizing transactions and have accidentally clicked that button instead of “Apply to this transaction” because they are so close to one another, inadvertently undoing weeks and weeks of curating that I’ve done with my transactions. There’s so much to love about the app (free budget tracking!) but this one fluke in the UI design is enough to drive me to explore other tools.

This is the best budgeting app on the market I have found since Mint left the arena. With that said, there are still some areas that need improvement to function at that high level. A simple feature like a notes section for each transaction contributes to that earning that title. Make that happen and you’ll get that 5th star out of me!

Tired of having to log in every single time I want to use the app. It’s in my phone. My phone is password protected. I could use biometrics like every other app. Nope. Just signs me out every 2 weeks.

When I try to select a category to view,it jumps back to the original interface and doesn’t remember the filter. Very annoying. This is on an iPad using the app.

Maybe there is a paid version I need to upgrade to, but I find the app hard to navigate, and I think it’s because they don’t have the features I need. Comparing month over month or year over year and getting a solid view on my expense categories is really difficult. It seems like 75% of the app is products and net worth and I just want to be able to really dig into what I am spending month to month and my bottom line. Looking for something else..

Wish you could set budgets for categories. Instead I have to go back to my budget notes to see if I overspent, and then make a note to myself. Other than that, my go to budgeting app!

Pros: I like some of the insights, I like the option to have the Atomic Treasury Account, it offers an awesome rate. The points you gather to use the app adds up to $ amount. Cons: I haven’t been able to pull my credit score, contacted them and they gave me directions, but then it got complicated and never got it figured out. The categories are a bit limited, the weekly insight after a while becomes very repetitive. If you have issues with the Treasury account you have to contact a different company and then they take a while to respond. Can’t set a budget. I am not sure I want to keep using it.

I’ve loooooved nerd wallet to keep track of all of my finances. The new update has moved everything around and is not nearly as intuitive as it used to be. The credit dashboard no longer allows you to view credit history because the unhelpful “tip cards” are in the way. The transactions are hard to find and the entire dashboard is centered around selling you plus vs. helping you manage your money. So disappointed I updated the app.

I recently have been taking a good look at my finances and have recently taken a second job so I want a budget and a plan to pay off all my debts ASAP! This app has been very very helpful. I have ambitious goals and I know Nerdwallet tracking and suggesting new moves is helpful and I have already paid off some debt so it’s motivating!

NerdWallet recently chose to close its NerdWallet card program. My score dropped 26 points b/c of this. Am considering litigation b/c NerdWallet chose to ensure everyone’s account took credit hits that had this card.

The latest version cannot show history of credit score. The graph is limited to last four weeks and it is not interactive anymore. This is really wrong direction to take the app to. There is enough garbage added and endless ads, but now losing functionality?

Words cannot describe how much I love this app. I genuinely recommend this app to every person I meet.

I couldn’t link my bank account because it wasn’t on the Plaid list. Also I have to write down my number but the app does not have my country. The process to enroll is long and I had it to download another app to get a code and sign in. Moreover I do spend a lot of cash which does not go into my cards. How can I keep track of my cash if I can’t write down my expenses? This app is design for a person with a paycheck, with most of their expenses in card. This app does no apply for my case. However, it might be useful if you are the target customer! (Same as Rocket money in my case )

The app runs well and things are moving, my major issue is how long it takes for data to refresh. The credit data is so outdated by the time it refreshes. Mint was way faster with data refresh.

It’s good for a simple view of your finances, but it’d be great to be able to chose what widgets are on the home page. And dark mode is a must!!!

Login is broken

Logged me out then would make me make a new account then say you already have an account…. But wouldn’t let me login? I HAVE to go through the process of making an account but I already made one… so the app is now useless and has all my info. Horrible app

I put money into it and it just randomly disappeared and I can’t seem to get ahold of anyone from support because they’re apparently always unavailable

I have an account and can’t log in. Authentication isn’t working. When I enter the one time code, it says it doesn’t work. Then I go into the actual site and it works. I then tried to charge my password setting’s so I can access the app, won’t accept the code. Something is broke. App is useless

I used to love the app until they started charging. Its $49. They don’t give a monthly option. I can use other free apps in my phone for bill pay. No thanks.

Love this app! But lately I keep having to relink my accounts, which is pretty inconvenient. Looks like a bug fix? Hoping it can be fixed! Also, when can we link Affirm, Klarna, etc…?

They don’t support multiple login’s for the same bank for some odd reason. It lets you add the second login and on your bank app it would show you that it’s sharing information but it never pops up inside nerd wallet. The only thing keeping me from using or subscribing to this app is that feature. Please fix or give an update on the future of this issue.

You can’t customize the categories so there’s no option for gifts. Most often the search function does not work when I search for key words in an expense so I have to go back month by month to find something. And pending payments on the app always show as pending for a day longer than on my credit card. I just find that frustrating and don’t get why! Update 3/26/25: the update to the app has made it harder to navigate to the budget tracking / cash flow feature. It used to be a bottom navigation button. I think I will get rid of this app and try something else.

Didn’t love it, used it after Mint went down. Now all of the main features are being placed behind a paywall. Deleted!

Cashapp has high APY savings account and I spend over 16k a month in cashapp. I need yall to partner up so I can track my expenses

This was a great app until they decided to make a subscription type service and if you dont join, they lock away a lot of features. So annoying!

The app GUI looks nice and is easy to read and navigate. The app is really just a front door to several 3rd party vendors. If you want to link your bank accounts, you have to sign up with a 3rd party, not NerdWallet itself. If you want to manage your insurance, the same. NerdWallet gathers and displays your info for your viewing, but the actual transactions and data flow through various 3rd parties. I’m using it for convenience, but users should know that you’re agreeing to several 3rd parties having access to and limited Power of Attorney over your funds and assets. Proceed with caution.

What are you even thinking? You have made this app so much more convoluted and why? The creeping greed is apparent in this one. There are alternatives. Do not drive your userbase away.

NerdWallet was a huge downgrade from Mint. Impressively, they continue to find ways to make it even worse with every new release. Good luck finding any useful information about your financial profile. Instead, you are bashed through the retina with advertisements on every possible page.

On top of my accounts rarely updating, the new app update is one of the worst updates of any app ever. Good luck finding your actual linked accounts and net worth. It’s buried now. This is horrible!

Recently net worth was moved out of its dedicated tab in favor of pushing NerdWallet bloatware on more tabs, Obviously the company needs to make money, but this is not a good change

Used to be a decent budgeting tool but know they’ve hidden everything several clicks away in the hopes that you accidentally sign up for an investment account. Why did you make it worse? Were people getting too much utility out of the thing that makes them better off financially instead of giving you more of their pennies? A great UX ruined for the possibility of short-term gains and long-term obsolescence.

Hello, I use this app as a net worth tracker since the mint app went defunct. I don’t care about the nerd wallet points, articles, or credit cards you’re trying to sell me. All I want is the net worth tab back. (Yes I know you can still access it through another tab.) While the articles have been helpful, I access them on my browser instead of the app. I’m not a fan of the new update

While this app has the potential to be useful, it continues to fall short. Periodically the app completely forgets who I am and refuses to respect my locally stored login credentials. Nerd Wallet’s way of addressing this is to either require me to install more google spyware or give them more information that they don’t need for any other reason than to collect more of my data under the guise of “confirming my identity“ which I have already done at least a dozen times before. Why are my own confirmed and secure locally managed credentials no longer good enough? If the only way to use this app is to sacrifice privacy under the guise of security, I no longer want anything to do with it.

I use to like this app. Was a nice way to see basic credit information and score. But now it’s nothing but NerdWallet pushing their services and their recommended credit cards. Just wants to link your financial info. Credit use to be a tab alone and now it’s a small section in their product profile “management” tab. It’s annoying. Will just use this app to read reviews if I need it. If I stop using it my phone will delete it after a while

I’ve never left a review on an app. But this update is horrendous. Whoever decided this was a good idea should never be allowed to give input again.

I am just looking for a budgeting app that connects with my bank account. I don’t need all the other stuff. The basics are difficult to find in this app.

The developer is clearly trying to monetize the app beyond what feels normal. They have made it harder to quickly access account balances and you have to click around through ads and their attempts to get you to sign up for their premium service. The developer is making it to the point that people are going to start looking around for other options.

I use the service once and it’s been over a year and every single day I get about three scam calls text messages voicemails emails.

I love this app! A couple things… I do find it really annoying not being able to create my own categories for needs and wants. I have a complicated budget where I want to track investments and medical bills in custom categories. I also find it super confusing having things like returns count towards income instead of just reducing my total spend. If you can fix those two things, you will have my biggest gratitude!!

I just wanted to track my basic expenses in a simple offline app. This one requires too much information just to get started. Need to give email and phone number before I can even see the app home screen. Maybe good for advanced money tracking, but not for my needs. Keep in mind that 3 stars is neutral, so this isn’t necessarily a bad review.

This app cannot tell the difference between food expenses and my rent. Because I transferred my rent money from one account to another and then paid it it counted my rent 2 separate times as wants and says I spend 98% of my money on wants. It tried to say I spent $2,509.99 on candy because my rental company is listed as Kandy Inc. bad app design.

Loved this app up until now. It used to have a section where you could input bills and due dates. I have spent so much time perfecting my list and had it perfect. I updated the app today and that list is gone. It has been replaced by a subscription tab which is great but doesn’t show the bills I already had put in. I am very disappointed. Also now everything is being moved behind a pay wall. So now if you want to use most of the features you must sign up for nerdwallet+. I find it ironic that there is a new subscription tab to help keep track of those but in order to use it you must subscribe to nerdwallet+. Honestly ridiculous!!

Doesn’t accurately track your spending/income. Easier to track in Excel than this app. Linking bank and info is a pain and support just sends you articles to help.

I’ve had NW for a couple years just as a fast way to check my credit score and to see overall debt balances. Then today they notify me of a hard inquiry on my credit that I didn’t know about. I was able to go in, talk to credit report folks, and freeze my account against future inquires. Thanks NW!

Former mint user. Not easy to use and can’t figure out how to add categories either within expenses or income. Does a decent job of automatic categorization

The app was unable to verify my identity and it was also unable to link to my bank account. Perhaps it works for mainstream accounts, but otherwise has a limited scope

NerdWallet is the one of the best apps that actually help with keeping track of finances.

Is it just me or does the iPad app only support portrait orientation? That seems insane to me but it seems to force my iPad into portrait mode even though I use my iPad in landscape attached to a Magic Keyboard.

Layout is good. It’s not great like mint. Be where you will get a lot of emails from the marketing part of Nerd Wallet. It shows the 50-30-20 saving strategy. When I was setting my account, It was working great. I started with first 2-3 accounts were linked pretty good. after about a month I I wanted to link my account, but it did not work. I thought this was something one day that again next day, but it did not work again. That I decided to wait a week and try again and still I was unable to link account. There is clearly some problem. Due to this account leaking problem, I had to shut down our wallet.

Attempted for 30 minutes to setup a new first time account. They wanted phone number, or Google info…. after several attempts to NOT use a phone number or other private info deleted the app

I want to use this app and like it but good grief the app keeps freezing when I’m trying to add accounts. I’ve spent 3 hours trying to add 2 accounts that I have to keep closing and refreshing. Please fix the app via update or I will have to choose another budget provider. Update: I have spoke with the developer and adding multiple accounts from a single bank/credit union is not available at this time. Until this feature is available, my review will remain.

App is great, only complaint is it is a little confusing to learn to navigate, has a cluttered feeling at times, overall very good

Great app that allows you to manage your spending, calculate your net worth, and monitor your cash flows. Only issues are that it doesn’t support connectivity to Fidelity and doesn’t work great for tracking month to month chart comparisons of spending trends.

Every time there is an update to the application, you have to login as a new user and it’s extremely frustrating. In addition would be nice to have a widget.

Love the app, but they need to work with Plaid to continue expanding the number of accounts you can add. For example, I have an Apple savings account, but I can’t add that here. I also opened a Treasury account in NerdWallet, but that doesn’t seem to show in my net worth. That’s not ideal.

Long time user: 3 years+ used for budgeting and tracking $ across many different accounts. It has been very helpful up until a few months ago. In the past few months they have made updates that are awful. 1. Removing categorization from the web app where it’s much faster to fix the poorly auto categorized items quickly. — It doesn’t remember categories and consistently puts items in the wrong category. Example: donations to my church show as “rent” every time even when told to make all transactions from this place a “donation. And now “internal transfers” are seen as income and need to manually be turned off for every event. So all my overview numbers are off by quite a bit. Payments to my credit card are also now shown as income. Making every dollar spent reflect a dollar of income when my statement is paid. I contacted support about this and was told that there was no way for me to submit feedback to developers. Now that I am seeing numbers that have nothing to do with income/expenses/monthly saving this api is mostly useless since am getting false positives. I am sad to see these changes happening and would be happy to talk with a developer if given the opportunity.

I tried this app for budgeting but you cannot add multiple accounts with different logins at the same bank. Because my husband and I both have our own bank accounts and credit card accounts with different logins that we share, I can’t add all of our accounts to view in this app. This means all of the insights and budgets are wrong. I previously used Mint.com RIP where this was possible. Otherwise, I like the interface, and the insights would be useful for a single person.

I used to use Mint, the best in finance management. After mint was closed I switched to credit karma. This is a nightmare app, nothing good but it’s free. It’s getting worse and worse so I wanted to switch again. Then I found this Nerdwallet. Much neater. But the first issue I met was that u cannot add more than one account from the same financial institution. That’s so bad. The second issue I encountered was that many financial institutions cannot add in such as Apple so you cannot get the full image of your finances.

It would not verify my identity and I couldn’t get my credit score which is the whole premise of the app. Was really disappointed because I wanted an app that I could compare with Credit Karma but instead they can’t suggest cards that would be good for me like CK can.

Nerd Wallet is extremely delayed with updates. Several times other sites update fairly quicker and Nerd Wallet can take up to 2 weeks from your score original update.

I can’t even dig into the app to see if it’ll really work for me because the iPad version seems to not support a landscape layout. Very frustrating and silly limitation.

I looked at a few auto quote options on nerd wallet, and the next morning woke up to 5 or 6 voicemails from different companies that I have never heard from and never applied for. These companies weren't even listed as loan options. This is different from other sites like Credit karma who let you look at options without giving your info to other folks. So beware!

I love this app. Saves me a lot of time from previously tracking everything in excel. I’d like if there was a widget where you could see net worth from the iOS home screen.

I opened an account with my own money had a great start I can purchase things but when it comes to payment it’s a whole new story. First making payments is a hassle it takes like 3-4 days to process payment second second it doesn’t give you rewards and no way to upgrade to unsecured card and last the app glitches and does not let me make a payment and I have missed due dates for this glitch.

Before you sign up for this service, you need to know that NerdWallet will not refund your membership fee should you decide you don’t find any value in their services. The Nerds Wallet is closed for refunds.

It does the job but also it would be necessary for you to do all your tracking on your own too. Not only is the platform itself not attractive or as clear as it could be, Certain income streams disappear even after they’ve been on the app prior. It takes longer than expected for spending to show up and with disappearing income it becomes really confusing and discouraging to use. Credit karma, although not as streamlined as Rocketmoney and NerdWallet, never seems to have this issue. Rocket money is more attractive than NerdWallet but both seem to have disappearing income. Not ideal. The app appearance and bugs definitely make this 3/5 stars for me.

I waited forever for my accounts to sync with plaid, restarting the process at least 4 times. It never worked, and two of my five accounts weren’t available for syncing via plaid.

I like all features on nerdwallet but I feel like it missing several categories such as subscriptions, credit card payments and among other things, I’m just asking is to add in another feature where it allows you to create a category if it not too much to ask

I had this app for 15 minutes and couldn’t complete setting up because the cash flow page kept getting stuck. I even tried re-downloading the app, closing and re-opening, etc. So disappointing

These personal finance apps need to allow users to manually enter the URL for their financial institutions’ customer login pages. LPL Financial is a pretty big institution that comes up in CreditKarma, but they have the incorrect URL listed because LPL changed it. CreditKarma doesn’t allow me to change the incorrect LPL URL they have listed for log-in, so I can mo longer use CreditKarma. Just downloaded NerdWallet based upon stellar reviews and it’s the same issue - the incorrect login screen URL for LPL and no way for me to manually correct that. Seems like a simple thing for the app developers to add to these apps to keep their customers.

Frustratingly challenging to set up an account. Failed several times before I just gave up.

Not sure if I’m doing something wrong. But I don’t understand why the app shows my credit card payments and transfers between accounts as income. I’m looking to compare what I make from my paychecks each month to what I am spending. But it’s inflating my income because it’s adding all of these transactions, which are not really income. and I really wanted to like this app. Sigh

Maybe I can’t figure it out, but the filtering features only let you filter BY categories, but don’t let you filter OUT categories. I want to filter out internal transfers because I think it’s counting my credit card payments as additional income, essentially double counting the cash-flow in. EDIT: The app doesn’t count the internal transactions towards total sum (ie., monthly income), I got confused because it listed the transfers in the breakdown though.

When source category ID says loan payment and other things and it all gets classified as different things such as internal transfer throws it all off. Even after trying apply to all like this leads to the same thing. I spend more time fixing it myself I could literally use google sheets. Please fix this and the app would easily be a 5/5.

Tried setting up my account five times. I finally gave up. Every time keep getting same error “unable to verify information with transunion” Other apps have no problem verifying my information with the 3 credit bureaus.

Good to check in with your finances, keep track of net worth, check cash flow, debt, etc. Would love to see the ability to track purchases from individual vendors though—to see how much you’ve spent on Amazon purchases in the past month, say. This app has the same exact features of Credit Karma with a bit of a checking account spending tracker thrown in there, but every feature is barely satisfactory, if that. The first issue I had was logging in… I already had an account, so it wanted me to log in with that account, but wouldn’t let me exit the screen I was already on. Then I tried to add my car insurance— it tried to make me add drivers that are LINKED to my policy but not on my policy. Makes zero sense that I was also stuck on this screen with no options to opt out. Finally, I get onto the regular app Home Screen and start exploring. I mainly wanted to flag & manage subscriptions, but there’s no feature for that. In fact, in my spending, it lists that I spend 20% of my money on needs and 80% on wants…. I barely make enough money to want anything to begin with. It lists my rent payments, groceries, and many other necessities as wants and not needs. It also shows that there are other accounts found that they “suggest I add”, but won’t show me what they actually are. Any POTENTIALLY worthwhile feature is behind a $54/yr paywall, which makes me cackle. Where would they sort that money among my wants and needs….? Not sure why this app exists…… to anyone giving it 5 stars, have you considered using an app that actually functions to access & make improvements within your financial accounts? Crazy how those ones actually WORK better for budgeting, stopping payments, and improving credit.

I ended up on the NW app after losing Mint. I will not pay for what I need - to track expenses, and track net worth. It has potential. Right now it works. However there’s many glitches/strange features. For example I can’t take any of the data/suggestions seriously because they won’t stop counting things like credit card payments and internal transfers as income even if I keep hiding them. So it looks like I make and spend way more than I actually do. So how is that helpful? Also the accounts should update faster.

I work across both Canada and the US. This app doesn’t connect to TD bank Canada, only TD US (I have both). I got stuck trying to add my accounts and the app crashed once while I was trying to do that. Fastest uninstall

I was perusing Nerd Wallet for recommendations and came across their Insurance recommendations. I have insurance for just about everything in my life. In other words, I’m very experienced with all kinds of Insurance. I thought to try Nerd Wallet’s recommendations for Auto Insurance. I should add that I haven’t had a ticket or accident in 20-years. I’ve never had a DUI, been convicted of crime and my Credit Score is great. What a terrible waste of time! Not only were the rates outrageous, they would only give me quotes from Allstate. Allstate has been very public of their intentions to leave California for which I happen to be a Resident. Ridiculous!!! I will be deleting Nerd Wallet immediately. If you cannot trust the simple things, I’m certainly not about to trust them with my finances.

Need the ability to manually link accounts that aren’t listed in Plaid. Empower will allow this and is much easier to use.

I submitted four requests for assistance. None of them were addressed. No email was ever replied to. I looked up my request(s) progress and was shocked to see “solved” next to it (them) every time when nothing was solved. It is as if the company does not even care to provide any support.

I was looking to replace our old tracker app when I came across NerdWallet. It looks great, not to expensive so I thought why not. Well it turns out that you can not have two accounts from the same inestment group for “security “ reasons. In these situations if your investment group allows it you need to set up a Limited Advisor view on their website so it can all be viewed from one account. Some of our accounts also can not be linked. Overall nice app though

Very annoyed. You are unable to change your email address on here. Originally used icloud because its my throw away email. Tried to resign up because i really liked them and use my everyday email. They keep saying i need to delete my icloud email. I dont have access to this email! And now it says i cant check my score for 30 days? Very VERY disappointed.

Very glitchy. Randomly unlinks accounts. You have to manually relink all of your accounts only for it to happen again. Doesn’t update your balances accurately. Not worth your time.

Trying to sign up but get an error page. “Oops!, something went wrong”

-It worked well when I just installed it, created the account, and linked it to my bank accounts. -But once everything has been set up, when I logged in for the 2nd time and tried to link more cards, it stopped working. I selected the bank, entered my bank account info, selected the cards I wish to connect, it said successfully linked, and I clicked ‘back to wallet’, then it stuck on the waiting page with the never-stopping rotating thing. -I tried at least five times on different days, still got stuck on that very last step with the never stopping rotating thing. -Very frustrating and disappointing as this is definitely not some ‘seldomly used’ type of technical issue that can be hardly detected. I love NerdWallet for financial advice and were happy that they provide a budgeting tool. It was easy to set up and link all accounts. After the first month I have noticed that my income is drastically off. I contacted customer support and they repeatedly told me that it’s accurate and not included in the calculations. Instead of fixing the bug in their system they try to convince me that I had + $3000 income last month. (I double checked my paystub just in case I got a drastic raise) This tool is a great idea but the inaccuracy makes it useless.

I loved the app and used it on a daily basis. But over the last 2 weeks however, it has been constantly unlinking my bank accounts and forcing me to relink them if I want any info displayed. It’s gone from a valuable tool as part of my financial planning to useless because it takes 20 - 30 minutes to relink accounts each time this happens—and it’s already happened 4 times since the glitching began.

The app is completely useless. I linked all my accounts and it says they all have a balance of $0.

I don’t know why these developers are making everything to only work on telephones. I don’t hold my iPad up like a telephone. I hold it more like it’s the TVs screen and everything sideways unless they start making apps for iPads. There’s no way I would pay for one and I have to hold my iPad sideways it’s just terrible.

I cannot seem to get help. I did get an email from one of the support staff and he said it was because I wasn’t logging in under my email address, that is was logged in w/ an appleID. I logged out and logged back in w/ my email and my password. Still there is no option for “Lost or Stolen Card” on the Support tab. The only thing I could do was put in another request. They send an instant email that says you have to click on the welcome email to further your request. I am so done. I’m out $400 on their prepaid card. There is no phone number anywhere that you can call and talk to a person. The bot is not helpful at all. It just keeps saying the same option you just saw previously.

I literally had to delete this all because of how many alerts they were sending me. I couldn’t even focus on the actual product because I was so bombarded with emails and alerts. Like chill.

1. Auto-categorization is pretty good. 2. Bank/credit card account sync takes a while but isn't a dealbreaker. 3. Provides a good 50/30/20 comparison. A few things that were frustrating: 1. It doesn't let you create custom categories, and when you try to change categories, it doesn't show which section they fall under. Example: It shows a general list of categories, but it would be helpful to have a label indicating whether it's under "needs," "wants," or "savings/future goals." 2. Apple Credit Card and Deserve Credit Card don't sync, but that's more of a Plaid issue. 3. This one is obvious: customization of percentages should be allowed. I'm a 50/15/35 needs/wants/savings person, and I'm sure others have their own preferences based on their income and financial goals. 4. I also noticed it doesn't allow you to add a category specifically toward savings goals. I just started using this app, and will update as I notice more things. 5. When you mark a transaction as hide from calculations, it should show a little icon on transaction list so you don't have go all the way in to see whether you marked it or not. 6. As the calculations are bsed of budget percentage, how much of % goes on items shown in the "Your spending so far section" in cash flow tab 7. I also noticed a possible bug on the cash flow tab>budget breakdown section>edit icon for projected total cash is difficult to click as its too small and gets merged woth the texts around it.

The concept of this app is great and if it worked like its intended purpose it would be even better. However the numbers showing from my financial institutions will not stay current and lag behind. These are not the kinds of problems an app like this should have.

It’s an okay app for tracking your finances. It shows credit cards and loans it thinks are relevant to you. My biggest issue is the Net Worth tab. Over the past few months, there were several times I couldn’t see my linked accounts under my net worth, but I could see the total net worth. Not really useful, especially since 3 of my accounts need to be manually updated. At first it was a good fit for me, but I’ll use Fidelity’s apps now.

I have a investment accounts that it is not loading correctly anymore

The NerdUp secured credit card did not report my available credit-line on my TransUnion report. As a result, when I used the card for a $15 purchase, it reported a 100% utilization rate, causing my credit score to drop by 22 points. It wiped out months of gains in just one day. I filled a dispute and awaiting the outcome. Be extremely cautious. I don't recommend using this card—it's new and still has a lot of issues to work out.

It keeps saying my bank information is incorrect when it’s not. I literally sat at my bank with them trying to do this and it’s saying information incorrect when the information is in fact correct.

says I have 5 notifications, yet i’m not even signed in. Closing the app doesn’t get rid of the notifications either. Just giving me notifications with no way of clearing them.

After it attempts Face ID, I have to log in with my username and password nearly every time I open the app. Plus the bank accounts unlink and disconnect from my account constantly. Bad tech.

I should not have to pay for basic services

Upon first logging in after a significant time not using the app, I am immediately told my information was compromised in a data breach and I should reset my password. I tried over and over to reset that password, I was continually told that the password/email was incorrect. I double and triple checked enough times that I finally grew tired of messing with this app. Removed from my phone, 1 star reviewed and written review left to warn off anyone else that doesn’t have half an hour of their life to waste.

I like the idea! But haven’t used it enough yet to really know for sure but I’ll update my opinion after I use the app for a while! Hopefully it helps me be more confident in my ability to be more financially responsible

I LOVE this app but I can’t get accurate information because my Apple Card doesn’t show up. I tried searching via Apple and via Goldman Sachs (the issuer) and neither worked. If you can fix that, we’d be all set.

When Mint was being phased out, I was looking for another money management app to replace it. One of the big pluses is that you can import your info with Plaid rather than manually enter your login details. It’s a huge convenience. NerdWallet offers some of Mint’s features with less flexibility. You cannot create your own categories/labels as you could with Mint and there are still some duplicate entries (like with Mint). This is limiting for the app. It’s otherwise user-friendly and offers your credit score, credit card and loan offers that are appropriate for you as a consumer (I get these options from Credit Karma, so it’s not necessary for me). It does log me out periodically, which I find annoying, after which I have to re-enter my credentials.

NerdWallet+ is a scam. I redeemed a reward, and have not seen it in my emails. Tried to submit a couple of support requests, with no response. In short, they took my money from me without providing the services they said they would.

Not willing to link my bank account to some rando app that claims to be trustworthy

- The app does not update my accounts. Sometimes it would say it was updated 12 hours ago but would still reflect account balances from 3 days ago - My Marcus account requires too many re-linking. And everytime it does that, I would see large cash inflow and outflow, causing my net cash flow to be off - Net worth feature would not show each individual accounts and often would show the total by “cash”, “investment”, “property” only. I had to go to the website for the details which defeats the purpose of the app - Overall, this is a decent app if you’re not looking to monitor all your accounts details daily on the go. Otherwise, just go to their website or link all your accounts to your primary bank/brokerage app which updates your balances faster and more accurately.

I don’t want to give you all my information. I just want to write down my expenses. Too much to ask for. Uninstalled.

The app doesn’t update your bank account information nearly often enough to be useful. Sometimes it doesn’t update an account for over three days and there is no way to manually update accounts.

When I can use the app it’s fine but the app stability is trash!!! When I click over to networth my accounts are connected approximately 1 day out of every month. When I try to reconnect to my bank which supports plaid and works fine with other apps, I get stuck on the loading screen forever. Without the accounts connected I can’t see balances, recent transactions making it very hard to abide by my budget.

The only issue I have is I am not able to link all accounts which throws off the whole budgeting portion. And when I add a car in manually I doesn’t allow me to make it a negative balance it considers it an asset which it’s not. But other than that great app!

There needs to be an option to create other categories to sort transactions because there isn’t really any that apply for my small business transactions. For example, I have several software services I need to run my business, but it automatically categorizes them as a “want” under shopping. It’s not a want nor is it really “shopping” but the only other option would be to put it under “other.”

A lot of institutions can link through plaid, but many can’t, leaving an inaccurate picture of net worth, savings and spending.

What year is it, 2017?

I love how I’m able to see all my bills for the month and know how much i am going to pay in total.

I absolutely love this app. It’s easy to use and visually appealing. But after already connecting my accounts and getting used to using it, I’ve realized that it’s impossible to create custom budget categories. I’ve been putting things into the closest possible category but it’s important to me to be able to track gifts separately from “donations” and wedding expenses separately from “services”. Please add custom categories or at least extend the options! I would have switched apps already if it weren’t so much work.

I just want a budget app

Really cool app! It is perfect for budgeting and tracking expenses. The only downside that I have found is when reviewing your monthly budget spending. It shows all of the totals for your different categories in the needs and wants sections. However, these totals are only the sum of the negative transactions for each category. It does not account for any positive transactions. So for example, if you bought an item for $200 and then returned that item for a full refund, your total for the section on shopping will still read as -$200 instead of $0 dollars. You have to open each category for the net dollar amount to be correct. Otherwise, the app is great.

Unfortunately the app is not working properly for me. All my bank accounts and brokerage accounts have been inaccurate for almost a month. I have contacted support and they have said that it’s an issue with plaid and that they do not know when the issue will be resolved. That was two weeks ago and nothing has changed. I do like the app, but it is currently not working properly. I don’t know if it is affecting anyone else but I do hope that the issue is fixed soon. And since I am already writing this review I may as well criticize the fact that the app has no dark mode. I’m sure that many would appreciate that feature.

This app is pretty simple to get the hang of. After linking your bank it throws everything into it’s default category which is super nice. You can go back through and change the categories of certain expenses if needed which is nice. One struggle I had was with it pulling my credit score, but other then that I find this app very helpful

Very much like the way app is set up as I’m not particularly finance/budget-oriented. Easy to use, not complicated at all. I AM reversing a one-star review I gave NerdWallet a couple weeks ago to a five-star!! I was having problems keeping accounts linked, which was maddening but their help desk was very prompt and helpful and I got problems all fixed! And what to do if it happens in future. Definitely recommend NerdWallet.

How does Plaid not support Fidelity? Pretty pointless app if I can’t even connect half of my investments.

App is alright when it works. I came to Nerd Wallet from Mint (which I’d used many years). Seems like every other time I update the app, it loses the links to all of my accounts and I have to delete the app and re download it. A pain.

Downloaded this app after mint went away. Not super impressed. They constantly send notifications about credit cards. Good for tracking expenses but that’s about it. If you really want to budget YNAB is a much better app.

TBH financial literacy is very important to build generational wealth — I really admire nerdwallets ability to make out of touch, dry language that typically surrounds personal finances accessible. For someone just beginning or the everyday American this app is great, and I trust their articles to give me the best possible information. since the mint app switch to credit karma, I found this app with the highest rating. Sadly, it does not update my accounts when refreshed and I am constantly having to re-link my accounts. The site also does not support all investment platforms, so my true net worth is not calculated. I wish the app updated my accounts as it was refreshed instead of (78 days ago) to reflect actual balances, and I wish I didn’t have to keep re-linking accounts. Otherwise, it’s fine. There are a lot of ads but at least it’s a place where most of my finances can be managed in one place

Don’t just rely on your banks app use Nerd Wallets platform it’s much simpler easier and contains dozens of helpful features that your bank may not. Don’t really on bad bank apps when you could view your “MONEY” on a more sophisticated one. Balance budget Manage investments and much more. Track your money like a nerd.

Has potential but unlike its merge partner doesn’t allow you to remove certain accounts. This app automatically includes any student loans you may have to your profile which doesn’t accurately reflect the health our finances. Also this app shows more about selling credit cards then budgeting screens. Charges and transfer between account show duplicate transactions I prefer MINT.

This app might have amazing functionality, but since they couldn’t be bothered to enable rotating the UI to support both portrait, and landscape, I can’t be bothered to try. I’d rather use an iPhone app as at least I can use them with my keyboard case.

Mind blowing UI and UX

Review is exactly the title. This app counts my credit card payments as income, which throws off all the charts and readings essentially making the app useless for me.

I want to like Nerd Wallet but it’s so glitchy. It disconnects from accounts a lot and I have to reestablish the connections again. My retirement accounts were connected then disconnected and now they don’t even have it as an option to connect again. I also can never see what my net worth contains. I’m thinking about deleting this app actually.

NerdWallet have gave me issues since day 1. Takes to long for the funds to be transferred or withdrawn. My account was block twice for some type of fraud I was told. This last time they froze my funds with over 1k in my account and yet to give any response as of why and what can be done to resolve the issues. I am in the process of filing with the BBB to assist with this company.

Nothing works in the app. Not even deleting my account.

I found NerdWallet after Mint got decommissioned. NerdWallet uses plaid to establish “secure” connection with my bank accounts but 9 out of 10 times my connections is lost, it either says updated but I know it’s not right balance or my accounts will all disappear. I have submitted internal survey response to the developer multiple times, all have fallen to deaf ears. Do better NerdWallet! People trusted you with their financial data, and the poor performance of the app is really disappointing.

Added 60 percent of my accounts then the app refuses to the my other accounts. No error, no message and no way of knowing how to fix it. All the work done is down the drain now that I have to move to quickbooks.

I wish I could give this powerful little app more stars. NerdWallet is one of my favorite financial websites. They do it right — break down complicated language into understandable articles, provide insights and recommendations for improving your financial standing, and much more. Their app leaves quite a bit to be desired, though. Like the title states: the app works well, if it works at all. It feels like 75% of the time I open the app I’m met with some error (the latest has been “we’re having trouble connecting..” at the log in screen which forced me to delete and redownload the whole app). If I’m able to log in, then I likely have to relink one of my accounts and go through the brutally repetitive process of using Plaid (their 3rd-party account linking service). Experiences like this make this app feel frustrating and unreliable. Still, when it works, this app is powerful and insightful. It makes me feel more in control of my financial health.

It really opens my eyes to how I’m living my life with my budget

The app was nice and clean to use, but I can no longer login. I keep getting an error trying to connect to NerdWallet. Been a few weeks now with no update.

Easy to use platform. No bugs as of yet. So I’m loving it.

I installed it and a week later it didnt let me log in. I thought maybe its a server outage but fast forward a couple of weeks and still cant log in. Just says “oops there was an issue”

Can’t link my Apple Card from GS Bank. Also can’t link any of my Synchrony accounts and my PayPal account is all screwed up! Can’t trust that I’m getting good advice it half of the information needed is missing.

A key to this working the best is to find a way to have all financial accounts linked and automatically updated. Otherwise, users need to input more data manually - which never lasts long. Several of my financial institutions weren’t available, so I can’t get a complete picture of my current debt & asset mix. Perhaps it’s an acquiescence to “laziness”, but the more that’s up to the user to maintain, the less likely that it can remain a helpful tool for the long term.

I like have a central place to see all my expenses and incomes. I have a few suggestions tho: add a credit card category to bills, make the auto detects still able to be edited, and it would be cool to link Coinbase. I know it’s tough because of crypto and all but just a suggestion!

Hello! I’ve been using NerdWallet to track and monitor my credit usage. Absolutely helpful and handy for me. However, lately, it has been buggy. It’s not properly linked, keeps asking to link accounts, and does not allow me access to links. Please fix!

I really loved the app when I initially downloaded about a week ago, but now it’s unusable. I tried to add my credit info for the tracker and the “continue” button after inputting the number doesn’t work, the cash flow and net worth tabs are blank and do not load, weekly insights is blank, there’s a constant loading circle at the top of the app. I really want to like this app but can’t have much opinion when it’s this broken

Date: 06/07/2024 Current time: 0800 I deviated between NerdWallet and Rocket Money. Based upon my research, I chose NerdWallet. I have yet to be disappointed. I’d recommend this app, for now. I give four stars because I don’t believe anything in this world is perfect. That’s all.

Half the features don’t even work, the support team is A+ in gaslighting (“have you tried updating the app???” when there are no updates available), and don’t ever expect to be able to close your account. The feature for that just so happens to glitch every time you press it. Then if you try to log in online to close your account, please expect a good 15-30 minutes before they even bother sending you the verification code. Don’t worry, your information is safe. From you, at least.

After three years of comments in nerdwallet’s help area, there still is no way to add expense categories. The categories in the app are limited and won’t give me a detailed enough view of my expenses - I can’t even code an expense as “business” or “reimbursable.” Sad to say I’ll be in search of another app that provides this flexibility.

I like the amount of features and budgeting insights you can get with this app without having to pay for premium.

I just want clear breakdowns but this app is BLOATED with suggestions, ads, etc. Also there's no custom categories which makes this kind of a mute point. Also the predicted stuff is ridiculous; I've never been overdrafted but this app predicts by the end of this month I'll be in debt by $2K??? Dawg...

It’s going pretty okay so far ease of use is mostly there a few random clunky moments but the big gripe is that my primary bank account isn’t supported, I have a local credit union and an online savings account that y’all are saying is unsupported so I’m primarily showing a negative net worth etc even though I know it’s there. If that gets fixed I think this will solve my gap for not having mint

The app is constantly dropping connections. Even lost my account somehow. Had to make a new one but says it already exists so I can't but logging in says it doesn't exist! Had to use a new email and do it all over again and then dropped connections again. Forget it. This is junk

An app that doesn’t work. Trying to finish signing up with 2FA, but the screen won’t scroll or give me an option where I can hit the text button.

Loving the app but I use Apple Card as one of my main credit cards and their system does not connect. I have had to manually add this credit card… they need to fix this, major deterrent from me wanting to continue to use this service.

Love the design and the features, but I’m running into bugs on the Net Worth tab. Sometimes accounts are shown, usually they aren’t.

I downloaded the app, easy to set up, I can see all my finances and it’s making me feel like I want to save money like in a video game or something. Pretty cool. Message pops up “Are you loving NerdWallet?” I hit yes. It says “We love you too!”. No prompt to rate or review. 10/10 experience.

Overall the app is pretty decent, but it could be improved. Feature parity with the website would be nice, so I can read my saved articles in the app. Another way it could be improved is if they’d take it down a notch with the ads.

I have used this for a couple years. It works for what I need and I appreciate that it’s free. Will there be an Apple Watch version soon? Please??

When I’m giving access to financial info, it really helps if set up is pretty seamless. First it wouldn’t connect to a major bank so customer service said to try connecting through a browser vs the app. Then the connection to another major bank failed so I had to reconnect. After I had to enter my SS# in full because my last 4 wasn’t doing it, and then enter again, I just felt like how secure is something if it takes so much time just to set up. I’m going to miss Mint.

I’m yet another former Mint user trying to find a reasonable substitute. Fortunately, my needs from Mint were relatively basic; I liked being able to monitor transactions across multiple accounts in one place. NerdWallet seems to be a good fit for my needs, but the buggy app leaves a lot to be desired. For example, the Net Worth view regularly fails to show the account balances, instead asking me to link accounts. At first this bug would occur maybe once out of every 10 sign-ins, but now it’s rare for the account balances to show at all. So I’m unable to view individual account balances. The bill tracker, understandably in testing, is so ineffective that I would love to just be able to close/remove it from my view. It consistently fails to recognize bill payments, even when the bill amount is fixed (and especially for variable bills), so I spend most of the month with incorrect notices that I have overdue bills. Auto-recognition of categories and transactions is limited, at best, and despite 30 weeks of the same transactions, the system still marks 10+ of my weekly recurring transactions as uncategorized, meaning I have to manually fix them each week to maintain any data integrity. I understand the need to learn patterns, but 6 weeks should have been plenty. Then there are the categories themselves. It would be a very small, but valuable, enhancement to be able to create custom categories. Overall, yes, the app is free. I would have been happy to pay for Mint, but that wasn’t an option. I have hope that NerdWallet will eventually improve and fix some of these bugs, but without feedback there’s not much chance of that. So I hope this feedback is helpful.

I linked my bank account to it, loved it the first day I had it! THEN, I tried to go on it once more and all it tells me is “nerd wallet is having issues” there’s no updates on the app so it should work fine. I’m about to delete the app after a WEEK of trying to see if this app would work.

Had a problem where I couldn’t log in, but developers reached out after my review, and got it resolved. It was probably my fault for not remembering that I used AppleID to log in, not just a PW. But . . . The pop up that says Success!, then a simultaneous popus saying my “credentials” couldn’t be validated was not helpful. those popups should give a bit more info, so a user can know what the problem is. I liked the formats of Mint better, but it looks like they’re really still working on improvements, so 👏.

Unfortunately Plaid can’t get access to my Apple Credit Card.. not NerdWallet’s fault (rather Apple’s I guess) but it still makes the app not useful to me..

Can’t even sign in!

I just wanted to see transactions across my accounts and download them like i used to in mint. Alternatively, this might not have been a an issue if the interface for viewing transactions by trend, category, subscriptions, etc had a robust feature set like co-pilot. I guess you get what you pay for? (not much)

I cannot give a long time review since I just got it to download, but I can say when I had trouble the other day they responded to my original post very quickly. App seems great so far, will update if something changes.

I'm trying to sign up, it leads back to the splash screen. I got a notification from the email client welcoming me into the app so I assumed it did sign up I tried signing in it asked for authentication one time code and everything and then it sends me back to the splash screen without actual message of the error if there's any

I just downloaded app. I tried signing up with Google account. Which worked but it won’t sign me in. So NerdWallet has all my info but I can’t use the actual app. So it seems super scammy to me. You take all my info but won’t let me use the app. DO NOT GET THIS APP ITS A SCAM.

I’ve remianed logged out, deleted power cycled device and reinstalled. Still unable to login. Currently on the most current OS of device. The issue hopefully will be resolved in future update of app.

Downloaded the app and time I try to create an account manually it comes up and says error but does not tell me the error. When I try to login using my appleid it goes back to the main screen to login or create an account.

I was already logged in, but when I opened the app I was logged out. I have tried to sign in with my google account, then with my apple id. Then I tried to SIGN UP for an account with both my google account and my apple id. Then I tried to sign in again with my google and apple accounts, and none of it worked. It all brought me back to the sign in/sign up page. I'm still getting emails from nerd wallet, so I know I have an account already but the app won't let me look at anything the app has to offer. App has been updated, and deleted and redownloaded. I have tried everything.

I literally can’t get passed the sign in. Every time I do it just takes me back to the sign in page.

Worked well for about the first two weeks and then there was an issue of it signing me out. That was fine and I felt with it but now it won’t even let me sign in. I put in my info and it just takes me straight back to the sign in page.

Plaid cannot connect to Fidelity. Please fix this as many many people use this institution!

NerdWallet is a decent enough budgeting app, although I think there are better options out there. It does provide a good overall look at your finances. Be warned, though, that if you check out their options for things like credit cards or personal loans, you'll be put on a marketing list that every loan company apparently has access to. I had only had the app downloaded for an hour and already have been bombarded with emails and texts.

The app seems really cool and I was excited to use it but after I linked my account to Capital One it just brings up a loading screen and loads indefinitely. Hopefully this gets sorted out because I’d like to use this app. I’m using an iPhone 10.

I’ve had the Nerd Wallet app for years. Unfortunately, now every time there is an app update I have to go online to sign in🤷🏼‍♀️ That makes absolutely no sense and makes me a bigger target for a hacker. I kept hoping the developers would fix this issue but apparently they do not see a problem. 👋

This app seems to be solely a reactionary review of your money. There is no ability to set budgeted amounts for certain categories to watch how much you have spent vs. how much you have left for the month. I am so confused how there is even a market for that. Don’t most people set up budgets in order to ensure they aren’t overspending their preset amounts?? Honestly useless.

I love this, I’m so happy it was available after Mint was shut down. I’ve heard of NerdWallet before, read their articles online, watched their videos but never used the app — it’s great! Only complaint from me is I think subcategories are a must. For example, there’s a Transportation category, that’s fine. But it would be insanely useful if there was a Gas category, especially as a delivery driver. Even if the option to add it in manually were available, it’d be helpful.

Super easy to use and a lot of great data

I tried this app for at least a half a year. Some how it lost all of my account data and asked me to sign back into my accounts. Very frustrating since I have quite a few. I didn't even bother, I just uninstalled it instead. The other problem was the lack of categories. You couldn't even make your own.
