It needs some improving… 1. 33% of the time my app won’t load and I have to try again later. 2 There is a learning curve with the categories and searching, but it is helpful. I wish there was a table view instead of a gallery view of charges. 3. Additionally, when using the review transactions feature, some transactions don’t need to be categorized as wants, needs, or savings because they are transfers and there isn’t an option for that so I just have to skip it. It’s weird… 4. There’s some other stuff I’m too lazy to list right now but I have this feedback leads to some improvement. 5. I wish there was a tutorial when you opened the app with a video and a way to get set up. I love Caleb Hammer’s videos, so I downloaded the app but it could use some improving. Happy to change my review when updates come to the app.

Does anybody else have the issue where if you try to open the email to reset the password it just self delete preventing you to reset the password?

I was wanting to try the free version, but it’s not allowing me to try the free version when logging in it’s forcibly asking me to subscribe to it

I really like the app, I wish it had a feature where you could add your kids and they could only access there portal but as a parent we can access both our own and the kids portal but they could watch and track there spending/savings and as a parent we could help them give advice and teach them good habits from young ages.

I had a few small issues logging into my device. The Dollarwise team responded immediately, on a holiday weekend, to resolve the issue. The team solved my issue and I was able to resume budgeting better!! Great app with great support.

Love Financial Audit. I use RocketMortgage and figure I’d give Dollarwise a try. 3 days is super short of a trial to really get the feel for it. Not happy that the app doesn’t update account balances more often or have an update button like RocketMortgage. It’s been 4 days and 2 bank accounts still have the old balance. Not good when you’re trying to budget on the daily. And of course it’s been more than 3 days so I can’t even cancel and now I’m stuck for a whole year. Not happy.

Great app, love everything but, rocket money has a recurring expense calendar, i’m subbed. but that would make it 10/10

I was excited to use this as I watch Caleb a lot. Every time I try to connect my bank, nothing happens. Super frustrating!

I liked the app when I downloaded it a year ago and decided to pay full price and redownload it today. Problem is, when I hit reset password and type the code in, the “continue” button in green at the bottom doesn’t work. I’ve attempted this twice with 2 different codes but the continue button does not work. So, I have no access to the app. I’ll change this review to 5 stars if it’s fixed but that’s a pretty broken feature for an app that’s supposed to track sensitive financial information. Changing a password is basic… :(

I got this app because of Financial Audit. I like knowing that Caleb has been in the trenches of debt, and knows how it is. I thought I was good at budgeting through my notes app, but once I typed everything out, and saw how much I was actually spending, I was surprised. My only complaint would be that you have to manually set your own budget. I’d rather it be automatic/ AI, and it budgets based off income, what’s important to you (I.e, paying more on credit card debt, etc.) rather than you having to set your own budget. It’d be nice if it could do its own layout, and then maybe the user adjusts as needed? Regardless, great app. Really shines a light on where my money goes, and how to budget down to the dollar to make it count.

I was caught off guard to find that this is a paid subscription app, AFTER having connected my bank accounts. I had seen this advertised as free. It’s very shady to connect banks THEN ask what payment I would like to choose. 🫣

I wanted to try to use this app for budgeting for my future but it won’t let me connect to my bank and kinda disappointed with that and it wants me to pay for the app even though I can’t connect my bank to the app I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but not happy about it

I downloaded this app intending to use it to help me with my spending, and see where I can make adjustments to help get out of debt and start saving. Currently I can’t get the app to work.

I listen to a ton of financial audit while driving for work, with his baked in adds, it finally got to me to give it a shot. Let me say, I am very disappointed. Issues I have: 1. Extremely inflated income estimation that seems to come from nowhere, I made sure to go through and check all items labeled as income and yet it was calculating about 230% of my actual monthly income. 2. When sorting activity you can't click into the purchase to see what account it was from, when you have multiple accounts and some used solely by your partner or others, you don't always know what a charge is for, but if I could click to see what account, it would help me figure it out faster 3. No insights based on estimated income, in the pie chart section, I could put whatever I want in each section, so I could budget $1,000 for everything without it telling me that I'm over my monthly income that I manually put in. Should subtract from the income and show you how much you have left to distribute, and offer AI insights of where to put more money. 4. Too many options for categories, when Caleb does his budget he pretty much has housing, debt payments, TP fund, groceries, utilities/bills, fuel, and fun/misc money the app is preloaded with SOO many tags, it's so cumbersome and then your having to create your own and delete out others. 5. The app is not intuitive, I was searching Google trying to find instructions to use it and ended up finding someone's YouTube series just to get a basic understanding. Things you would think would be simple like on the home tab, it shows "income" and "fixed-spending" one would think you could click those to modify or view where it's coming from, but no such luck. 6. The insights are confusing and can be unhelpful, it's labeling my mortgage as an unusual purchase even though there's 2 years history and all are categorized yet still "unusual purchase" 7. When you are in the insights tab, and inside of each category, it gives you a bar graph of previous months. Can you click to the previous months to see transactions? No. Can you click the down arrow next to "this month" to see other months? No. This app has a LOT of potential! I love the auto syncing to the accounts, being able to connect my bank and credit and other all in one spot is awesome! But due to my experience I have actually canceled my subscription and I am not even out of the 3 day free trial yet. I am not saying I wouldn't come back but would need to see updates and fixes in order to do so. Between my experience and thinking about spending $100 a year on this app, I will go back and spend an hour on my spreadsheet to re-organize and use that. Love Financial Audit, just disappointed that the app is clunky, cumbersome, and overall not an enjoyable experience. I hope improvements are made at which point I will be back!

When going through the activity page to assign each transaction to wants,needs, savings. You have to click the category you want it in like 5-7 times before it actually puts it in there. It does not do it every time, it’s every other time or more. I’ve tried closing app out and that doesn’t seem to fix the issue. It does it very frequently. Other than that perfect app.

I paid the anual version just to face constant syncing issues that support blamed on my banks (before they stopped replying). I just wonder how come the same banks don’t have the same issues with rocket money? 🤔 even the budgeting tool from Bank of America was more useful than Dollarwise! Total disappointment.

First I’m upset because I’m would like to try and find a good budgeting app to help get out of debt and get my money under control. But you only get a 2-3 day trial? And then you got to pay. That doesn’t even give me enough time to build a budget. But then I learn Caleb is out here dragging Veterans and VA “disability”. 1 it’s compensation for serving this country we live in and getting used and abused by the US Government. It’s not the same as Civilian Disability. 2 there are different levels of VA compensation and one of them is about unemployability of the service member. Screw you Caleb, I don’t even want to try you dumb app and I hope you loose followers. You’re not even good at what you do! You just harass and abuse the people on your show….

Connected to my bank account multiple times for it to not pull any information from it and constantly prompt me to connect it. WHILE STATING IT WAS CONNECTED. Did not show me anything useful or helpful. Did not properly import anything as it is advertised to. Very lame.

I’m really wanting to enjoy this app. I downloaded it and submitted and accepted all of my bank accounts and credit cards. Then when I’m in the app it says I have to reconnect my information for accounts. Okay sure… did that for the main home page. Go to insights page and activity page and I have to do it again???? Why do I have to relog my information to connect it over and over again????

Unfortunately after attempting to utilize this application, I was unfortunately met with significant lag, which hindered my ability to access the finical assistance or other advertised features. Regrettably, none of my financial information, including my spending, bills, or other relevant data, was displayed, rendering the application largely ineffective and a waste of time.

I downloaded the app March 2025, it wasn’t good so I deleted it. After watching financial audit 3 times a week and them talking about how it’s improved I downloaded it again and paid for the year membership. It’s still terrible, I’ve added my accounts 3 times and after each time I add them and go back to home page and the app won’t accept any of my accounts, I’m prompted with “connect your first account”

It’s a solid budgeting app with a simple GUI. However, no MFA enforcement on the account itself and no Face ID for when the app opens is a huge concern. I know you can enable Face ID as a user but security should be prioritized as a financial data company.

I had the app for one day and came across issues such as it was double counting transactions, counted my husband’s paycheck as spending, flagged our mortgage payments as “high spending”. Couldn’t fix these errors. Wasn’t intuitive to use either in the UI design. Wouldn’t recommend.

The app layout kinda sucks, it doesn’t break down spending well at all you have to manually do everything. On top of that you get zero access to the app unless you pay first. Ironic an app that’s suppose to help you budget and track your spending requires you to pay before getting to check the app out.

I learned about this app through Financial audit, I love you it lets you itemized the purchases from “ needs and wants” I saved over $700 Last month just by learning about my small purchases that were adding up.

Buggy AI built app that doesn’t let you cancel the subscription in the app. Says it sends you a login link to your email to cancel it but never does. Scummy and scammy.

Great app. Very easy to link bank info, and see where I can improve.

I like it and enjoy it definitely fairly easy to navigate but still seems a little slow at adjusting when you make changes and can be kind of annoying

I tried linking 2 different accounts at the beginning and kept getting errors. If that’s the way the app was starting, it is not worth my time investment to try to further use the app

Could not connect my bank account so I had to delete it. App performance is terrible and lags on pretty much any button press. Caleb needs better SWEs.

Shame the free option was taken away. Now it’s just a free trial.

I am a long time fan and downloaded the app roughly two weeks ago and connected my bank account and brokerage. I enjoy the simplicity of the app and sorting transactions by the three main categories (Want, Need, and Savings) as well as all of the subclasses you can assign for the transactions. That being said, I do wish the app use the aggregate information of the last 3 months to create a calendar that displays dates when automatically renewing purchases or subscriptions or pay day deposits are (similar to some other apps). I just think it would be a really good feature to implement in order to better track and project monthly budgets by knowing when all the bills come due by looking at a single calendar that’s already tied into the finances. Other than that, this app is a very good and simple way to track your spending and budgeting! - a less broke medical student

Premium user. It’s nice to see all accounts connected in one place. That said, I do find myself still checking my bank account somewhat regularly, as dollarwise’s figures appear to be based on the actual live balance (‘completed transactions’), not your balance accounting for posted and pending payments. This means a sometimes several hundred dollar difference between what my bank account shows as available to spend and what DollarWise suggests - meaning I could overspend if I’m not checking my actual checking account. Don’t use this app as-is for a daily check if you’re cutting it close on your checking account.

It’s mid feels like they are charging an unfair price for an uncompleted project

I wanted to try something new. I initially loved the ease of using this app and tracking spending. I waited for a month to get “insights” that never came through. So I decided to cancel it and I couldn’t find anywhere to cancel it. I emailed their support twice and then got charged again which resulted in me having to call Capital One and start a dispute. I despise companies that don’t allow for an easy cancellation fee. I’m going back to the Every Dollar App by Dave Ramey!

Works great with all my accounts I have multiple brokerages with Robinhood and it tracks my trades really well which helps given rh has a pretty bad p&l system

I liked that I was able to connect venmo but there was a lot going on! I also like that I could place the purchases in the categorize I prefer but it seemed a little messy for me

I’m a developer. Who ever made the login/setup flow for this needs to be fired lol. It’s like it wasn’t even tested.

Supports every all my banking and credit accounts except my Apple Card. My Apple Card happens to be the most used card so the lack of support was a deal breaker for me. If it supported it I would gladly pay the subscription and give 5 stars. Everything else seemed nice and simple to use. There appears to be a manual way to record transactions for the card but at that point might as well use a spreadsheet for free.

I unfortunately disliked this app. I was excited to use it as I have been budgeting on paper for awhile now and was expecting this app to make things a bit more hands off for me. I found it too difficult for me personally to categorize into the categories the app provides. I tried it out for two months and it never grew on me. However, I feel like this could just be a matter of my personal preference. My BIGGEST complaint & frustration (and the primary reason for the one star) is the fact that the second I signed up for this app and linked all my accounts, I started receiving seven to ten spam calls a day (if not more) trying to scam me into loans and debt relief programs. I am still receiving this many calls per day, every day. This disappoints me and makes me feel like all my personal information was not safely stored by dollarwise and/or sold.

I’ve been trying for a few hours to get started on dollar wise and even though my financial institution is listed on Dollar wise, dollar wise is unable to connect to my bank account. This problem has persisted though password resets. And since I could t access the app because of the app, 1 star until resolved.

I used the built in finance tracker that my bank had and it didn’t work nearly as well. Dollarwise is so organized and took away all the clunkiness I was fed up with from using other services. Just streamlined and easy to use

As someone that loves to watch financial audit and had the app for a week or so i wanted a better understanding of how the app worked. “Kirill “ never responded back to my email after 2 WEEKS. When they said response time is 3-5 days. Never again.

I’ve been using the app for some time now and especially this last update has really improved the experience!! I do have some wish list items that I’m hoping will be added in a future update *Splitting *Renaming *Notes *Reports *Export _________________________ *Splitting: ability to split a transaction’s categories *Renaming: ability to rename a transaction. As of now you just get whatever the app pulls in from the bank A not always accurate or helpful for later *Notes: would be nice to be able to add a note to the transaction *Reports: reports reports reports!! I just want to be able to run the data different ways and select the date range I choose *Export: ability to export to excel and/or export reports

This app is so buggy, glitchy, wnd awful every time I open the app it asks me for my accounts and information over and over again. This is my 3rd time trying it and it’s still just as bad as the first.

I really can’t wait to use this app when you guys are able to add the banks like VyStar to your app. Please keep us updated! Need help soon!🤣

What good is this if you can’t connect your accounts? Save your money.

I was excited to use this app. Signed up, started the free 3 day subscription. Added my bank and then it didn’t work. It wanted me to add my bank on every page. Would not update, would not connect, would not work at all. I immediately canceled my subscription and then it wouldn’t let me delete my information (made me feel very secure). So I’m going to wait and see if it will let me delete my information. Very disappointed and was hoping for much better.

It’s nice to see a budgeting app actually correctly tracks everything in an organized and easy to understand way.
